One Iraqi insider says Saddam will be hanged by the end of January. This sounds like executive influence to me. It's hard to tell if Saddam's call for reconciliation is transformation caused by his impending execution or a cynical ploy to manipulate the appeals process.

The people are rising up to help insure fair elections. This shows a healthy distrust of government, but if we distrust government so much, why do we keep reelecting the same people? Having lawyers so involved in elections is another sign of bad government.
The communists are supporting Democrats. These two parties have been in virtual lockstep since Democrats supported their beloved Uncle Joe while he was murdering tens of millions of his own people. Terrorists are also supporting the Democrats, but Democrats have nothing to say.
