Free kibbles

Former Comptroller General David Walker has made a documentary called I.O.U.S.A about America's looming debt crisis. Good for him. Hopefully Americans will wake up and elect government officials who will cut spending to head off this crisis. To paraphrase Democrats, we can't tax our way out of this problem. I can't believe the website director compared this movie to Al Gore's fraudulent "An Inconvenient Truth." Unlike the man-made global warming fantasy, the looming debt crisis is very real.

Even George McGovern recognizes that union employees should use a secret ballot to determine whether or not to unionize. Any non-secret method obviously opens up the process to coercion, which is exactly why unions are pushing for it. It's amazing to me that anybody would consider replacing the secret ballot with a petition. As usual, this bill named just the opposite of what it really is: The Employee Free Choice Act. As if somehow secret ballots take away free choice.

US military planes and ships to deliver humanitarian aid to Georgia.

Cato gets it. They illustrate how NATO has become more than ineffective and useless, it's become a parody of itself. Article shows how Bush and NATO encouraged Georgia to rattle Putin's cage, but never intended to back Georgia in a war. While Russia bears the responsibility for this invasion, Bush's foreign policy that emboldened Georgia to saber rattling is also at fault.

Cato explains there are legitimate reasons why companies don't pay income taxes in some years - they don't always turn a profit.

Cato finds it ironic that Democrats complain about the trade deficit, which dominated by the inflow of foreign capital propping up otherwise failing mortgage and financial institutions, keeping Americans in their homes.

Praise for the Bash cookbook.

Communist China was busted for falsifying the ages of their gymnasts. Russia exposed for hiding its aggression behind claims of peacekeeping. Russians violate the Georgian truce. Deja vu. We are in a new Cold War with the communist China and totalitarian Russia and somebody besides me needs to start informing the American people.

John Kerry starts website named truthfightsback.com to fight back against what he calls the Republican smear machine. I doubt that one of the truths posted will be that Richard Nixon was not president on Christmas 1968, as John Kerry lied in his story about being in Cambodia.

Federal Court makes significant ruling in support of Artistic License, bolstering open source development.

LED light bulbs are making inroads. Safer and cheaper in the long run, they should take over in time despite their initial high price.

Scientists have discovered a link between creativity and psychosis that we always knew was there.
