Senate fails to pass any war funding bill, and it will have to wait until next year. Our troops can't be happy about that.
I don't see how anybody can blame Bush for failing to take care of Iraqi refugees and Iraqi allies. Democrats have fought tooth and nail to deny even US troops the support they need. They certainly won't pay to support Iraqi refugees and allies. This is the result of the rabid anti-war movement trying to defeat their own country, not President Bush. This article also doesn't mention the hundreds of thousands of Iraqi refugees who have returned home because of the success of our new counterinsurgency policy in Iraq.
Climate change may cause abrupt changes. May? Can this statement be any more meaningless? This is fear mongering through innuendo. I can be more definitive and accurate without fear mongering. Inevitable climate change will bring about the same kind of abrupt changes it has for the last 4 billion years. The wealthier we are, the better we'll be able to mitigate the damage from those changes and adapt. Punishing CO2 producers guarantees we'll be less wealthy and more susceptible to climate change, and the poor will be hurt the most. Another alarmist claims temperature will rise much faster than the IPCC predicts. Maybe he missed the memo that shows that temperatures have been basically flat since 1998. He's looking at man-made CO2 only, not actual temperatures, which has a virtually undetectable effect on global temperature, as his report proves.
IAEA reports says Iran's 3,000 centrifuges are only enriching uranium to 4%, which is fuel grade, not the 90% needed to make weapons grade uranium. Israel criticizes IAEA report.
Desertion rate up 80% since we invaded Iraq. I bet that happens with all wars. I bet the longer the war, the more it goes up. The article conveniently doesn't mention Vietnam and Korea for comparison.
Police in England and Wales can bar people from town if they believe those people will later drink and cause trouble. Unbelievable.
Bangor, Maine bans smoking outside on public property.
San Francisco Chronicle has Bush death watch countdown (until next election). Death watch?
Starbucks is in it's first ever customer recession.
Iranian spared hanging for sodomy conviction when he was 13. Photo Iranians hung from cranes in public executions.
If Harry Reid is keeping the Senate in session over Thanksgiving to stop Bush from making any recess appointments, then Senators can pass war funding.
Bush raises a ton of money for Republicans.
Slate wonders if Barack Obama is just another liberal doomed to failure. Absolutely. He's a standard socialist and no amount of talking nice will change that. Given the choice between a clear socialist and a Republican who is slightly lesser socialist, Americans will pick the Republican socialist.
Democrats declare victory in Las Vegas debate.
Several countries unhappy with US control of domain names. I haven't heard any real reasons why this is an issue except the generic hate America issues.
Illegal numbers.
