Free kibbles

Minutemen complain that the border fence is little more than a cow fence. How many billions is this costing?

Businesses refusing to hire smokers. That's their right. You can't be forced to hire people if you don't like their behavior. In this age when government forces companies to provide insurance, which is baloney to begin with, not hiring smokers reduces costs.

China refutes claims that the 2008 Olympics will ban bibles. Smart.

Washington doesn't fear an Israeli strike on Iran. We own the skies over Iraq so we can block any attempted strike. What Washington fears is having to confront Israel to block a strike on Iran.

The World Bank ranks business friendly countries. The US is still third. We should be first.

We already knew the dollar is in free-fall. National debt hits $9 trillion. We voted for the 2 parties who put us $9 trillion dollars in debt knowing full well we would have to pay the piper some day. That day is coming soon.

Venezuela gunmen shoot protesters against Chavez' growing dictatorship.

Toll roads without toll booths.

Micky Kaus reports that somebody named Oppenheimer is predicting a Hispanic intifada. I predicted it years ago when I called it a genetic war. The European gene pool is about to be overwhelmed by the Hispanic gene pool in the US, and our genes won't stand for it.

It's hard to believe that a Chinese toy coated with GHB is an accident.

Weather Channel founder calls global warming the greatest scam in history. Al Gore is the world's biggest con-man. Republicans betray the nation on global warming. Republicans love socialism too.

Hillary Clinton failed to leave a tip for a waitress while campaigning. If your meal gets comped, you leave more, not nothing. I bet all the candidates fail to leave tips, but Hillary is out there trying to be extra compassionate for women.

Overweight people live longer. Odd.

Of course people should use drugs to increase their performance as long as they don't pose risks. This is a no-brainer. The problem is almost any drug can be dangerous when used to excess. Don't do that.

Motorcycle gang attacks moving cars. It seems to me the car has all the advantages in this kind of altercation.

The FBI is reaching out to terrorist front groups. Why? I think there are plenty of Muslims who are not working with terrorists to reach out to.

The number of homeless dropped by 12%? I bet we'll find out somebody changed the way homeless people were counted.

15,000 people have requested to have their names removed from the terrorist watch list. Why so few?

Victor Davis Hanson is unusually frustrated and offers no solutions to the high price of oil problem. The solution is severely limited government. By reducing government restrictions on Americans, we could drill offshore and Anwar. We could build nuclear and clean coal power plants. We could build wind farms off Martha's Vineyard. Entrepreneurs would have more money to develop alternative fuels. What is stopping all of this is government restrictions because government is titanic and unaccountable to the people at large, and it's taking us all down with it.

Ann Coulter discusses a new scholarly work that proves Joe McCarthy was a patriot and that liberals smeared him to cover up their complicity in the widespread Soviet spy network.

Republicans think Rangel's trillion dollar tax increase proposal will lead to gains in both the House and Senate in 2008. I agree. No matter how badly Republicans govern, Democrats are always worse.

Men are significantly underrepresented at college campuses. 135 women get undergraduate degrees for every 100 men. That's crazy. I remember the broad, institutional pushes to get women into college when they were less underrepresented than men are now.

Cato explains the problems with the Nordic welfare state.
