Chinese spying is the greatest threat to US technological supremacy. Duh. In their new Cold War of Terror, they're spying more that Russia did during the first Cold War. So is Russia. The threat of spies in this new Cold War of Terror is over double what it was in the last Cold War. And we're too stupid to acknowledge that this is a new Cold War of Terror so we can fight and win it without firing a shot.
House passes new FISA bill without telecom immunity. Maybe they can open up lawsuits on fighter plane, tank and missile makers too because we use them to kill our enemies. The Democrats are attacking American companies because they did their duty to help in the war effort. This is going to seriously harm our national security because companies will refuse to help the war effort.
House version of anti-war bill would end CIA renditions.
Because of our money funding the Mexican drug cartels from the war on drugs, the cartels have more manpower, technology and weapons on the US-Mexican border than US law enforcement has. We did this to ourselves with the modern prohibition of the war on drugs, and we can easily solve it by legalizing drugs. The prohibition is far worse than the drugs themselves. The war on drugs funds our enemies on the border, south America, and Afghanistan, and makes them richer and makes us poorer. It drives most crime in the US and leads to deaths of innumerable Americans and people all around the world. It also forces the imprisonment of millions of Americans who become a drain on society instead of producers. Adding manpower and spending more money would only boost our advantage temporarily because that money will end up in the hands of the cartels, and they'll escalate to overwhelm us again. The solution is so easy we continue to overlook it: we need to legalize and control all drugs ASAP.
Socialized medicine in action: parents of children in Maryland face $50 per day fines and 10 days in jail if they fail to immunize their children as mandated by the state. This will get worse and worse until we risk jail for every choice we make during the course of a day. This is what the socialized medicine advocates are forcing on us. It's the end of freedom. Anybody who can't see that has no idea of what government is. Government is force.
Budget bills contain 8,000 earmarks totaling $20 billion. This is the Democrats version of earmark reform. They get together with their Republican partners and laugh as us all the way to the bank. Yet we keep voting for the same 2 parties every election and the same representatives 94% of the time. We're stupid.
Good for Canada. Their high court refused to grant refuge status to American deserters. Now extradite them so we can court martial them.
Britain to demand 53 items of personal information for anybody traveling to and from the country. This will either lead to a revolt or shut down travel down travel in and out of Britain. Airport style pat-downs for train travelers. This ought to bring an end to Labor's government.
Iran partially cooperating with IAEA, but still enriching uranium. In the documents it handed over was plans for a part of design for a nuclear weapon. It's doubtful this communication was a complete documentation of its nuclear program. They're still playing the west for fools.
Unrest in Pakistan threatens supply lines for NATO in Afghanistan.
Palestinian President Abbas calls for the end of Hamas.
Saudis punish gang rape victim with 200 lashes. Shame on her for allowing herself to be gang raped. These are the same Saudis to whom we are transferring our hard earned wealth through oil purchases instead of drilling in our own country and adopting effective alternatives like clean coal, natural gas, and nuclear power.
Israel prepares for nuclear Iran.
Why does the US need new laws to prosecute war crimes, genocide, and tortures abuses in other countries? Government no longer respects any limits, like the limit on jurisdiction. We're not the world's court, and we shouldn't be the world's court. Just extradite the criminals to where they committed their crimes.
Reason interviews Judge Andrew Napolitano.
New abuses of imminent domain.
Further highlighting the rapid shift of American politics to the left, Rudy Giuliani's role model is Bobby Kennedy, and he eschews Barry Goldwater.
Ron Paul is surging in New Hampshire as Mike Huckabee is surging in Iowa. New Hampshire is a traditional libertarian stronghold, so Ron Paul may do well. Ron Paul is raking in the money.
Romney's health care plan, similar to but not quite as bad as Hillary's, is failing in Mass. That's no surprise because the solution to our health care problems is to get the government completely out of the business of health care.
Hillary Clinton felt enough of a breeze to finally say no to plans to give illegal immigrants drivers' licenses - for now. This is too little, too late. This issue won't die.
Description of the extent to which Hillary and her campaign went to plant questions and cover it up.
Even Democrats recognize that Americans are distrustful of a potential 2-headed presidency if Hillary is elected.
A male birth control drug that suppresses sperm production by suppressing a hormone in the brain will have very real side-effects, probably further emasculating men.
More women in Britain getting hymen replacement surgery so they can pretend to be virgins.
Sarah Michelle Gellar poses for Maxim. Unfortunately it's very tame for Maxim. She can (and should) do better for die-hard Buffy fans.
Comet has coma bigger than than the sun.
School bans Christmas cards ostensibly because they are bad for the environment. The global warming fraud is the new enabler for every socialist, anti-western activity that the people who hate the success of the west can come up with. It's nothing more than attack on every tradition and institution that made America, with Europe following, the greatest nation in the world.
Prison warden is upset because his prison doesn't have cable for the prisoners, unlike all the others. Why do prisoners have TVs, let alone cable? No wonder repeat offenders don't mind going back. Prison isn't about making life easy on the guards by making life easy on the inmates. Prison is about punishment, or it's supposed to be - tough punishment that makes people unwilling to commit crimes.
NASA reports that most changes in the arctic are the result of natural cycles that oscillate occurring over decades. Most reasonable people have known that for a while, despite Al Gore's lies. NASA is late to the party. I wish that Gore and his anti-freedom, socialism at any price buddies would all stomp around in a huff when the world wakes up to their lies, but experience tells me they'll just move on to their next big fraud in a never-ending attempt to hurt people.
Australian Santas can't say "Ho, ho, ho."
Report claims that more US military personnel died in 2 years of peacetime than in 2 years of the Iraq war. I understand that this is intended to put the casualties in Iraq into context, but I think Americans already know that this was is far away the least deadly of any major war we've ever fought.
This is a poorly reported story. A man who got a phone number off a toilet wall and called it was convicted of soliciting a minor for sex because the number belonged to a 15 year old girl. The only salient fact in this case is whether or not the man knew the girl was underage, yet the story doesn't report it. Stupid.
Like other pundits, Victor Davis Hanson has realized that the press no longer reports on the Iraq war because they have no bad news to push in attempt to turn the American people against their own country.
Energy independence is no mirage. Our government just works against American interests to block energy independence year after year. Almost half of the current price of oil is speculation. If the government removes the restrictions on drilling in Anwar and off the coast and also reduces the restrictions on clean coal and nuclear power, the speculative aspect of the price of oil would drop immediately because the greatest nation on earth had finally made moves lower the price of oil. That kind of commitment from the US will change the face of the oil market instantly. The subsequent increase in supply and reduction in demand will reduce our dependence on foreign oil while further lowering prices. At the same time, technology finally has breakthroughs in solar and hydrocarbon recycling. Our government is the biggest obstacle we have to energy independence, and that's a huge obstacle, but it isn't impossible. The people need to have a voter revolution so we can began the transition to energy independence.
The US attempt to establish rule of law in Iraq is going poorly, like everything else we've done except Gen. Petraeus' counterinsurgency plan. That's because our government is too big and too unaccountable to be effective.
Ann Coulter points out that liberals don't like Pakistani President Musharraf because he is an ally. Musharraf was just elected in a landslide, and although his military post would be a problem in the west, that's a far more legitimate election than just about anywhere in the Middle East.
