Politics

Romney family members and donors have ownership stakes in electronic voting machine company in use during the election.  Can you say conflict of interest?

Voting machines should be safer than paper ballots because they should contain both a paper trail and an electronic vote count that can be compared. That how our voting booths work. When I'm done voting, the machine prints out my votes so I can verify they match what I entered. But not all voting machines work that way, many are electronic only and capable of being hacked like every other computer, and the only conclusion is they are designed that way so our rulers can manipulate vote counts.

My girlfriend watched the beginning of the debate tonight, so I did too, and couldn't help but laugh at watching Obama and Romney trying to pretend to differentiate themselves while taking the same position on everything. But unlike this guy, I didn't find it bizarre, and I didn't think Romney got pummeled.
"Tonight, America was introduced to Peacenik Mitt — and watched him take a pummeling. I don’t know how much this will impact the overall dynamic of the race — it may not matter much at all — but it’s hard to see this as a good night for Romney."
"Oddly, Romney again and again supported Obama's positions, at one point basically acknowledging that Obama had made it clear that the United States has Israel’s back. "
These two statements are inconsistent. It's not possible that one guy pummeled another when they both took all the same positions. I think Romney was trying to appeal to women by being even keel while allowing Obama to look aggressive. It think it was his strategy.
