Economy

Thomas Sowell sums up Obama's economic record.
"Economist Edward Lazear has cut through all of Barack Obama's claims about "creating jobs" with one plain and inescapable fact -- "there hasn't been one day during the entire Obama presidency when as many Americans were working as on the day President Bush left office." Whatever number of jobs were created during the Obama administration, more have been lost."
True. But unfortunately it's also true that the economy was tanking when he took office. And economies have momentum. It would be different if the economy was growing when he took over, and it had since stopped. There's no doubt Obama's policies have made things worse, but so did Bush's. So will Romney's. That's why this issue is so confusing to people.
"In fact, new insight from the Senate Budget Committee shows that since January 2009, for every person added to the labor force, 10 have been added to those not in the labor force.  More specifically: Since January 2009, only 827,000 people have been added to the labor force, while 8,208,000 have been added to those not in the labor force."
Wow.

This chart purports to show that the middle class and the poor have been getting wealthier along with the top 1 percent, but it doesn't account for inflation. If it did, it would show those people getting poorer.

This article tries to blame Obama for George Bush's economy. In a lot of ways, it's right, but the blame still falls on Bush. Bush ruled like LBJ. It's hypocritical to blame Congress when Bush was president then to blame Obama when he's president.
