Free kibbles

It wasn't very smart of a US soldier to use a Koran for target practice in Iraq. What an idiot. He risked alienating the entire Sunni awakening over that.

Australia understands that cutting taxes is how you make your country more competitive.

I'm not relieved to find that China is building its all-seeing eye faster than Britain or the US. The scary information in these articles is the similarity of the systems being built in communist China and supposedly free Britain and the US - by US companies (illegally). We are not free. We are willingly ruled by profession politicians - aristocrats acting in their own best interests, the interest of their own power, not in our interest any more than any ruling class throughout history ever did.

But the stunning information is how China is allowing cities of pure free markets to thrive. Free markets are what is driving China's growth. That's how America used to thrive, and that's how America can thrive again. Instead, the communists are using free market zones as tools to surpass us as we transform America into a second-class socialist state. As our impending crash nears, the same kind of security cameras will insure our aristocrats stay in power just like the communists.

You can always tell Bush derangement syndrome when Democrats start saying Bush has made us less safe. We were an easy target for al Qaeda in 2001 thanks to Clinton being asleep at the switch, but Bush fixed that, and al Qaeda has been unsuccessful in their attempts to attack us since. Thwarting attacks instead of having them be successful is the definition of making us safer. That's about the only thing you can't criticize Bush for.

Alaska's congressional delegation is unhappy about polar bears being listed as endangered when they are thriving.

Diane Feinstein has attached an amnesty for illegal immigrant amendment to the Iraq war funding bill.

Schwarzenegger wants to rebrand the Republican party. If they went Schwarzenegger's direction, they'd be even more like Democrats, which means they'd get even fewer votes.

McCain makes age jokes on Saturday Night Live.

This German misunderstands how the US press has betrayed us and left us with a choice between 3 of the worst candidates ever. The press has covered up the repeated, pathological lies of the Clintons - it took Synbad the comedian to call out Hillary after she repeated the Bosnia lie over and over. The press refused to cover the Rev. Wright outrage for a year, then it gave Obama a complete pass when he changed the subject, talked about race, and compared Wright to his white grandmother. It took Wright himself to make it an issue. And the press has done a terrible job informing the public of all the military interventions McCain has pushed for in his career. All 3 of these candidates should have been disqualified from office if the press had informed the people instead of covering up and boosting their favorites at our expense.

Author says we should keep the illegal immigrants and deport the multi-culturalists. That's not a bad idea. We can assimilate the illegal immigrants.

In his second essay on the false complexity of economics in politics, Thomas Sowell points out that the politicians that do the most to reduce supply, like restricting drilling for oil or housing restrictions, usually complain the loudest about high prices from the reduced supply. In the third essay, Sowell explains how the courts have weakened private property rights to our detriment, and monopoly power is used more often against companies employing economies of scale than actual monopolies.

More and more people are sensing the coming economic collapse, but they don't understand it. Everybody talks about the symptoms we see in the economy, but nobody is talking about the root cause. We're collapsing under the weight of our government that crushes us with public debt, sucks nearly a trillion dollars out of our economy and sends it overseas, restricts and perverts our economy with mandates, subsidies and wealth re-distribution, punishes productivity, investment, and savings, and rewards debt and lack of work. The burden of government is forcing wealth creation to move to other countries, and the simple solution is to reduce the burden of government by abolishing the income and payroll taxes in favor of the FairTax, dramatically reduce our overseas commitments by ending our welfare to the rest of the world, and cutting federal spending, regulation, mandates, and subsidies in half (to start).

One of the huge advantages we have over the collapsed great nations of the past is the FairTax. It's already popular and being debated in public and Congress. Adopting that one policy alone would stave off our collapse for 30 or 40 years. The scary part is that the economic renaissance created by the FairTax will generate so much extra revenue that Congress will most likely double the size, and therefore the burden, of government right after it's enacted, destroying all the benefits.

Counterargument to the idea of using military intervention to provide aid in Myanmar (Burma).

Analysis of Hezbollah's power play concludes Hezbollah won a coup in Lebanon. I think they won a victory, but not a coup. When Hezbollah went to far, the army stopped them. But their power and range of operations has definitely increased, which is bad for the region.
