There's no notable difference between Republicans and Democrats at the national level, but there is a a real difference at the state level. The worst fiscally responsible states and therefore the worst economies are Illinois, California, New York, and New Jersey. All those states are dominated by Democrats. The most fiscally responsible states and therefore with the best economies are Texas, Wyoming and South Dakota. This isn't hard to understand. Government always harms the economy. But if you thought that because of this, Republicans were actually for budget cuts at the state level, obviously they're not at the federal level, you are wrong. Republicans never support spending cuts at any level, as this article shows that Republican governors are advocating spending increases.
