War

The threat of cyber-war with China is exaggerated.

Fighting intensifies in Damascus.
"The detonation of a massive car bomb on Thursday near the heart of Damascus underscored a major shift that has brought sustained fighting close to the center of the capital for the first time during Syria’s two-year-old uprising. It was unclear who was responsible for the attack, which killed at least 50 people and wounded more than 200 near the headquarters of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad’s Baath Party, activists and the official media said. "
Unclear? I doubt it. It was another al Qaeda-like car bomb attack almost certainly carried out by US backed al Qaeda aligned forces using US weapons.
"One of the most dangerous activities, Damascus residents say, is a simple trip to buy bread, a routine activity now turned deadly."
It has turned deadly because the US and its allies are arming al Qaeda terrorists to rebel against Syria's secular government.
"“Our biggest challenge is the civilians, especially since the regime is trying to turn them against us,” said the spokesman for the rebels’ Damascus military council who uses the nom de guerre Abu Qutada."
Or maybe the civilians are against you because you keep killing them. This report claims that the bomb was set off near a school and killed school children. It was also near the embassey of Russia, an ally of the Syrian government.
"As Sharmine Narwani points out in the Guardian, the organization that is responsible for compiling the "body count" in Syria is...surprise...funded by the US State Department! Narwani quotes Megan Price, lead author of the UN's casualty analysis project, admitting, "We were not asked to do verification of whether the casualties are real.""
This is why they hate us.

Live by the drone. Die by the drone. We can expect enemies to use drones against us in the near future.

Wright-Patt is developing hovering drones. I wrote about this first.

Attacks in Iraq kill 26 and wound fifty.

Bradley Manning's secret trial entered its 1,000th day.
