Free kibbles

60 percent of Minnesotans want to increase taxes on the rich, but not on themselves. Wasn't it De Tocqueville who said democracy was doomed as soon as the masses recognized they could vote to take money from the rich and take it for themselves? But that's why we're not a democracy. That's why Thomas Jefferson said we are all equal in the eyes of the law. In America, nobody is supposed to be able to take anything from anybody else by force. Too bad our government doesn't recognize the law and the principles behind it.

Defense. Sec. Gates says between 50 and 100 Guantanamo detainees can't be released or tried.

The Senate defeated the cramdown bill. They didn't even get 50 votes.

House passes President Bipartisan's budget with zero Republican votes.

FEMA coloring book for kids has picture of plane flying into World Trade Center. That's government in action.

Dick Morris explains that despite Obama's personal high poll numbers, most Americans disagree with him on every policy.

Citigroup is asking permission from the government to pay bonuses to key employees. Asking permission. This is should make every American sick.

One of the top 2 priorities of Obama's labor department is to make sure illegal aliens get paid. Are you kidding me? I'm telling you, Obama is working against the interests of the American. He is a Manchurian candidate for foreign governments.

Is anybody surprised that Goldman Sach's new top lobbyist used to be Barney Frank's top staffer? I hope not. Democrats and Wall Street execs are in lockstep and the corruption never ends. It's just amazing how the Democrats have managed to propagate the lie that Republicans are in the pockets of big business when all across the board, every segment of our economy including Wall Street and excepting only small business chamber of commerce gives more to Democrats.

So the UAW now owns 55 percent of Chrysler? How did that happen? Did they buy a bunch of shares, and we all missed it? It sounds to me like Obama screwed over every Chrysler shareholder and lender using government force and gave a big, fat, early Christmas present to the UAW. Apparently I'm not the only own who think Obama stole from investors to give to the UAW. I wonder how the UAW will negotiate a labor agreement with itself.
This ‘bankruptcy’ is going to leave a foul taste in the mouths of American workers who are being robbed to reward the UAW. Why favor one family over another? Why one worker over another? Are the UAW’s political contributions a reason to discriminate? The UAW is bragging that its past bribery of politicians will now allow it to steal from other worker retirement plans to maintain the unsustainable benefits it received in another era. That’s what Obama is really doing, and no one wants to inform the public. He is robbing from other state and city workers, from anyone and everyone who has pension benefits which are invested by third parties. Obama wants to take “other peoples’ money and turn the stolen money over to the UAW on a silver platter as payback for the UAW’s past history of political contributions.

Barack Obama is stealing from the American people to reward the UAW. It’s disgraceful.
The Obama administration is getting uglier by the day. Supposedly these shares were given in return for cutting cash obligations to the UAW pension fund. I'm sure everybody gave in at the point of Obama's gun.

The health care rationing bureaucracy in Britain, the one Obama modeled his health care rationing body on, won't allow British kidney cancer patients to use 3 out of 4 promising new drugs. They have to die like good little government subjects. Obama will tell us that dieing from lack of medical care is our patriotic duty too.

AG Holder says Americans and Europeans must make sacrifices to shut down Guantanamo. I think he means the sacrificing of live to the terrorists he plans to release. Isn't releasing terrorists aiding and abetting the enemy?

I didn't know that Arlen Specter was a Democrat before he stuck his finger in the wind and became a Republican in 1966. What a slimeball.

Anybody want a mileage tax in addition to your gas taxes? I didn't think so.

Washington D.C. considers private property between the property line and the building restriction line to be public property maintained by the property owner and tickets people for parking there on their own property.

The New York Times article claiming Khalid Sheikh Mohammad was waterboarded 183 times was not true. He was only waterboarded 5 times. Over the course of these 5 times, interrogators poured water on his face 183 times. I don't care. How many times he was waterboarded is not relevant. I don't care if they waterboarded him every day since he was captured as long as they were still getting useful intelligence. Once he was out of useful info, they should have stopped, and it sounds like they did.

Al Gore is such a successful liar that now he's trying to convince people carbon cap and trade will save them money. I think the IQ test should be whether or not somebody believes Al Gore. Anybody who believes him should be put into special education.

Ten myths about global warming from an Australian perspective. I like the term thermageddon. Another (minute) sunspot from solar cycle 23 has appeared, showing that solar cycle 24 is still a no show. Only 30 percent of Americans support cap and trade. Arctic sea ice extent recovering. Arctic sea ice thicker than expected. Antarctic ice growing. Global sea ice is higher than normal. Record snow in Great Falls, Montana.

Jonah Goldberg says Obama's liberal hubris and overreaching will lead to a political correction, but what's his definition of correction? Or will the inevitable Republican that follows be almost as bad as Obama and the Democrats? George Bush was. John McCain would have been. Jeb Bush will be. And now Republicans are sending big government John McCain and Jeb Bush to stir up support for the party. It's obvious all Republicans want to be is slightly less bad than Democrats, so going back to Republicans won't be a correction at all.

Video of the Austrian theory of the trade cycle in action (bank demolishing unsold homes).

Mises book documents revisionist American history. That should be interesting.

US and Iraqi civilian casualties take a big jump up in April.

What does empathy have to do with a Supreme Court justice? They have one job - apply the law. Somebody should remind President Obama that justice is supposed to be blind, not empathic.

Cato says we should judge Obama's first 100 days by how much damage he's done.
The projected $1.8 trillion deficit for the current fiscal year equals the entire federal budget in 2000. But have no fear, taxpayers: Obama's going to ease your burden by forcing the Department of Homeland Security to buy its supplies in bulk and cancel some magazine subscriptions.

Conservatives who recently screamed bloody murder over a DHS report targeting "right-wing extremists" (including pro-lifers and gun enthusiasts) ought to ask themselves if it was such a good idea to have fought relentlessly to expand federal wiretapping powers over the last eight years.
Appropriate.

How conservatives paved the way for Obama's unprecedented power grabs.

Reason interviews DEA agent who blew whistle on federal agents involved in the torture and murder of people including an American in Mexico. This war on drugs has corrupted Mexico to the point of civil war and it's corrupting the US right along with it. We have to end it.
