Government pays teachers not to teach.
How ironic would it be if we finally end the war on drugs, not because it's the right thing to do, but because government's coveting of our tax dollars outweighs its coveting of our freedom? That's the real reason the first prohibition ended.
How pathetic are Republicans that they are frequently outmaneuvered by Barney Frank? At least they've acknowledged the problem, so hopefully they can solve it. Only 17 socialists? I'd say hundreds.
Oklahoma House passes sovereignty resolution despite governor's veto. It's expected to pass the Senate. Montana passes law exempting the people of Montana from Federal gun laws as long as the guns and ammunition stay inside Montana. Texas considers a similar law. The people are fed up, and they're using the power of the states to take back their power from Washington. This is a wonderful development, and I hope it grows and grows until the Federal government is put back in the severely limited box the Founding Fathers created for it in the Constitution.
The Federal government doesn't have the ability to track the $787 billion of Obama's stimulus boondoggle, so they are depending on the recipients of the money to track it for them. That's like dumping dollars out of an airplane and depending on people who pick it up to report it. Stupid doesn't begin to describe how stupid that is.
The surest way to finish off the newspaper industry is for government to intervene and try to save it. That's like asking Dr. Kevorkian to help a terminal patient in chronic pain.
Federal officials will consider putting an animal called the pika on the endangered species list solely because of climate change. You knew they wouldn't stop at polar bears.
The impact of the moral hazard of bankruptcy during the current crisis.
Underwriter Laboratories is a free market company that keeps us safe. We should have something similar instead of the FDA.
It's about time Pakistan declared war on the Taliban.
