Free kibbles

US customs taking personal, private, and confidential data from laptops and other electronic devices when entering the country. Every traveler should secure his data online then wipe his disk clean before entering the US.

Europe to fingerprint all visitors. This is getting stupider and stupider on a daily basis. Is this why we defeated communism? So we could turn into the communists? Worldwide communism is right around the corner.

The Pew research center estimates that the US population will be 438 million in 2050, with the number of Hispanics tripling. They make this estimate because they consider the rate of immigration, legal and illegal, will remain constant. We cannot possibly assimilate anywhere near that many people that fast. We will become Mexico in our near future if we allow illegal immigration to continue. Democrats planning push for amnesty-lite for illegal aliens this year. This is the path that Democrats want for the country. Most of the country, like 80%, want an end to the southern invasion, but the liberals are still winning, with backing from Democrats and many Republicans like John McCain. It's crazy.

The solution is simple. Illegal aliens are fleeing Arizona because Arizona adopted tough laws against hiring them. All we have to do is make that a national policy, and illegal aliens will self-deport. Why do we allow the Mexican president to come to America and lobby for more illegal immigration? How pathetic do you have to be to want to push your workers out of your country?

Crushed by punishing US taxes, GM posts biggest ever automaker loss of $38.7 billion. The embedded taxes in everything we make keep our companies from being competitive compared to countries with VAT taxes because their products have no embedded taxes when exported. We don't need a bandaid like reducing the corporate income tax rate to 25%. While that would be an improvement, we need the best tax code in the world to outcompete countries with the VAT tax- the FairTax.

Iraqi security in Basra isn't working to well. Armed gunmen showed up at a Basra hotel twice, kidnapping CBS journalists the second time. That sounds like armed gunmen are operating freely in Basra, right on the Iranian border. Nothing good can come of that.

Pakistan militants capture 2 nuclear technicians after kidnapping the Pakistani ambassador to Afghanistan the week before. Why won't Musharraf clean out that area? Why do people travel there since it's full of militants? This is one of those things that is incomprehensible to western minds. Maybe a century ago, when the Indian wars were still in our memories, we could have understood it.

Defense department analysts charged with spying for China. This is too small to be even the tip of the iceberg. And Russia is spying at a higher level than in the Cold War too.

After China shoots down a satellite, it joins with Russia to call for the US to stop weaponizing space. Give me a break. This is a delaying tactic to get western liberals all work up, further dividing America, so China and Russia can gain an advantage weaponizing space. They propose a new treaty. The world's tyrants have figured out how to provide ammunition for the hate-America left Marxists to play liberals like a fiddle to the detriment of the free world.

Russian bomber buzzes US aircraft carrier after violating Japanese airspace. The Russians are trying to cause an international crisis.

Feds broker a new deal with 6 big lenders to delay foreclosures and try to renegotiate the terms of loans with delinquent homeowners. It sounds like this is strictly between lenders and borrowers, which would make sense, but why is the government involved if that's the case? This sounds like a win for lenders and borrowers both versus foreclosure, but if this made sense for lenders, it wouldn't have needed government involvement. I think something is going on that isn't reported in this article.

Canadian taxpayers are supporting polygamy by providing extra welfare and benefits payments to Muslim men with multiple wives. This another case of a different laws for different cultures in the same nation, and the end result will be the balkanization of the nation. This also shows how welfare and big-government are inherently divisive, dividing those who support the welfare payments from those who don't.

Superdelegate commitments don't mean anything. They can change their minds all they want until they vote. Delegates previously committed to Clinton may change their minds.

Bloomberg drank Al Gore's global warming kool-aid. Memo to Bloomberg: man-made CO2 has a miniscule impact on Earth's climate. The major driver of climate is solar output. Climate has been changing constantly for 4 billion years, and it's going to keep changing regardless of anything we do. The best way to deal with inevitable climate change is to grow our wealth so we can more easily adapt.

Snowiest winter on record in Wisconsin. -40 is new record low in Minnesota.

Here's a bunch more bogus global warming alarmism about Brits potentially dying in a heat wave.

Reason shows that the concerns of overconsumption (the most evil thing liberals can find to accuse the US of) are misguided. We are not deforesting or using more water in the US. Isn't it funny that my spellchecker knows the world overconsumption, but not spellchecker? Liberals are winning, and that means everybody is losing.

What a horrible indictment of our government schools, colleges, and teachers' unions. Illiterate man graduates high school, gets an education degree, then teaches for 17 years.

Liberals misrepresent Huckabee's comments about the 10 commandments. He's right that we don't need many laws and that the 10 commandments are foundation pieces of American values. The problem is this guy wants to add a bunch of laws to government when what we need is a project to cut the number of laws in half. Then probably in half again. You cannot have the rule of law when the common man does not understand all the laws.

This fawning over Obama is just unseemly and a sad commentary on our culture of mindless celebrity worship. The guy is an empty shirt, but people lose all reason in his presence. I'm reminded of the way Americans worship Britney Spears. What is wrong with us? Cato explains that Obama's plan to raise payroll taxes would cost Americans 1.1 million jobs over 10 years.

Ron Paul says he won't back John McCain because of McCain's policy of perpetual war. I don't think that's accurate, because it's not perpetual war once we win. But nobody wants to leave troops in Iraq for 50 or 100 years. I sure don't.

After denying that she is pimping Chelsea out, Hillary Clinton sends Chelsea to 1 on 1 breakfast with college superdelegate. What a 2-faced creep Hillary is.

Hillary Clinton refuses to release her tax records because she doesn't want the public to see how she and Bill amassed $90 million in a few short years after he left office. She claims she'll release them if she wins the nomination, but that's typical Clinton dissembling, trying to get credit for doing something she has hasn't done and doesn't intend to do.

The WSJ reminds the nation of Bill Clinton's pardons for terrorists so that Hillary could win a crucial block of votes in her first New York Senate race.

Note to self: don't accidentally cross into Mexican airspace because being intercepted by F-16s would not be fun.

Rich students are more likely to get college degrees than the poor. That's because government subsidies have made the cost of education skyrocket to where only the rich can afford it without crippling student loans. If we end the government subsidies, poor and middle class people will be far more likely to get degrees.

Ch-Ch-Ch Changes.

Film of the space shuttle doing a back flip from the ISS.

Tolkien's trust sues filmmaker over unpaid royalties from Lord of the Rings trilogy.

Scientists discover first organic molecules, methane, on an extra-solar planet.

Of course people will have sex with robots. They already have plenty of sex toys, and a programmable toy that can push all the right buttons physically and emotionally will be irresistible.

Cato explains that there are no easy answers with Kosovo and Serbia, especially considering Russia's new aggressive posture.
