Free kibbles

When I posted about al Qaeda's evil yesterday, I hadn't know that they used women with Down's Syndrome as unwitting bombers. Al Qaeda knows no limit to depravity, and every American should support their destruction as we're destroying them in Iraq. I wish we were doing a better job everywhere else.

Poland agrees to host missile shield. I thought they agree to this a couple years ago. We should have found a country to host the shield that wouldn't have so agitated the Russians.

Russians kick off 1 month of campaigning for Prime Minister to create the illusion of self-government by the Russian people. Putin's successor is guaranteed to win.

This sounds like at least subconscious, and maybe conscious, discrimination.

Israelis prepare rocket rooms for war. Maybe Israel will be better prepared for the next war than they were for the last one against Hezbollah in 2006.

Tony Blair is campaigning for new president of EU council job. It doesn't even sound like the job is defined yet. Would Europeans have a vote?

How have 3 undersea internet cables in the Middle East been damaged at the same time? One ship mooring in a storm?

Wesley Snipes acquitted of worst charges brought by IRS, but still has to pay $17 million in back taxes and faces jail time. It only be a misdemeanor to fail to pay $17 million in taxes?

This presidential race may raise $1 billion driven by corporate interests. America's government is supposed to be "of the people, by the people, for the people". We should not allow any entity other than an individual to donate money to candidates or otherwise lobby our government. People should be able to form lobbying groups, but only people. Not corporations. Not unions. Not charities. Only individuals.

Ron Paul raises more money than McCain and Romney combined in the 4th quarter. I doubt that will happen this quarter after the elections, but that's impressive. I guess supporting the Constitution is quirky to liberals and unpopular with Republican voters. I hope Maine is the exception that changes the rule.

LA Times endorses Obama and McCain. You would think with all the liberal establishment endorsements McCain is getting, he would be toast in the Republican primary, but he's the front-runner.

Sperm made from female bone marrow will make men obsolete.

Intel and Micron increase Flash memory speed by 5x.

Mickey Kaus highlights Obama's flip-flop and pandering on illegal immigration.

If it was just so simple that warmer water produced more and stronger hurricanes, hurricane forecasters wouldn't have been so significantly wrong the last 2 years.

Dept. of Homeland Security funds organization that supports radical Islam and Osama bin Laden.

Wimberley to withhold revenue sharing from the state. That revenue sharing is a horrible decision anyway.

When government says it's extending temporary benefits, don't believe them. They turn out to be long term expenses.

US tax dollars are being spent on bogus carbon offsets. I'm sure Al Gore's carbon offset invest firm is profiting from our tax dollars.

Polar bear numbers are at historical highs, but global warming extremists are pushing to have them declared endangered so they can restrict development of oil resources and human development.

St. Patrick's Day falls during Lent. Bummer.

Statistics about America's poor from the Heritage Foundation.

Mark Steyn laments that one of our presidential candidates has to win.

Review of Thomas Sowell's new book, Economic Facts and Fallacies.

Intriguing and education piece about Moqtada al Sadr and Iran's attempt to transform him into an Ayatollah to give him more authority. We should have captured or killed this guy in 2004.

Author suggests we drop the demand for Iraq to stop enriching uranium. And that will get them to stop enriching uranium how? The way to win with Iran is to first unite the nation around freedom. A united America would have far more diplomatic clout than we currently do with the 2 parties focussed on hair pulling and eye gouging. Then we could get Europe to agree to back military strikes as a last resort. Once we have that position of strength, we have the leverage to get strong sanctions, and Iran will negotiate. Not before.

More Republican House members retiring, putting their seats in jeopardy.

The muddied links between North Korea's nuclear program, A.Q. Khan, and Musharraf.

Chavez' attempts to appear moderate are smoke and mirrors.

Mark Levin takes on John McCain's record and personality. He's even more like Hillary than Romney because he flip-flops, and then lies about it. At least Romney is honest about changing positions.

Steve Forbes provides some excellent insight into economics, taxes, money supply, government spending and what the government should do to prevent a downturn. He should have added an endorsement for Ron Paul. I don't know how many times I've pointed out to people that we won the Cold War because of our free market economy and low taxes thanks to Reagan, and everybody else in the world learned from it but us. Forbes echoes that sentiment in the article's best line:
If government spending was the way to wealth, the Soviet Union would have won the Cold War.
Jonah Goldberg explains that Barack Obama is the polar opposite of JFK on policy, despite the myth of Camelot. Author slams the presumption of the Kennedys as a royal family of kingmakers. This article draws a parallel with JFK for his undistinguished career in the Senate, but his rock star status resulting from charisma.

Interview with Thomas Sowell. Thomas Sowell points out some of McCain's lies.
