Free kibbles

Al Qaeda diverting resources to attack the US. CIA used waterboarding on only 3 terrorists because of the threat of imminent attack. Video of al Qaeda training 12 year olds as terrorists. This reminds me of what I often say, the war on terror will end when radical Muslim mothers care more about their children than killing.

The war on drugs threatens to cost us a victory in Afghanistan. Afghanistan's opium crop continues to rise and fund the Taliban. NATO partners, growing fat off of the security welfare provided by America, are reluctant to send troops into harm's way. But with ever more opium funds for the Taliban, we're in a continuing escalating battle (just like on our southern border). And opium money gets to al Qaeda in Pakistan. So we're funding both sides in the Afghan war, our border war with Mexican drug cartels, and our oil money is funding both sides in the larger war on terror. Afghanistan is suffering wheat shortages because so much land goes to opium. All this is interrelated and driven by 1 US policy, the war on drugs. Spending $2 billion more to fight the opium trade will increase price of opium and provide more money to the Taliban and al Qaeda. The solution is easy, legalize drugs. But our emotional approach to politics is stronger than reason. We're really stupid. Cato thinks that if we fail in Afghanistan, we'll lose Pakistan too.

Clinton and McCain still front-runners after Super Tuesday, but both races continue. Looks like Obama managed to get more delegates than Clinton despite her victories in California and New York.

Senate Republicans block expansion of the so-called stimulus package that included extended unemployment benefits. Borrowing money to pay people not to work is no stimulus.

Al Gore hasn't blamed a series of deadly tornadoes last night on global warming. Yet.

Reason explains the fuzzy logic used by the Bush administration to press to amend FISA. But fuzzy logic shouldn't stop updating FISA. Intelligence agencies need a quick response from the FISA court. But the president does not need any court to oversee his war powers invoked by Congress in the war on terror to eavesdrop on the enemy or suspected sympathizers. That's a Constitutional power, not legislative.

Government involvement in alternative energy and carbon caps are counterproductive. We should dramatically reduce the size and scope of government to free entrepreneurs to solve these problems.

I'm having a hard time imagining Nancy Pelosi working the NASCAR vote.

The press favors McCain in their press coverage. That's because they love McCain - when he's competing with Republicans. They're really pushing for him to win. The press has fawned over McCain for so long, he doesn't realize they're going to turn on him like jackals if he wins he nomination and starts competing with a Democrat.

With McCain in the drivers seat and the general election looming, pandering to illegal immigrants is waning.

McCain matches up better against Hillary Clinton than Obama. These pollsters have no idea at this point, but this probably just reflects the country's antipathy toward Hillary.

Obama vows to change Washington. Since he's the most liberal member of the Senate, I guess he means make it more socialist. That's not the kind of change I want.

Romney whines because McCain supporters threw their weight behind Huckabee in West Virginia.

Suicide conservative voters vow to vote for the Democrat over McCain. That's insane. You can't get good government by voting for either the slightly lesser, or worse yet, greater of 2 great evils. If you're not going to vote for the lesser, at least vote for good government. Vote Libertarian. The Libertarian party, has the best opportunity it's had since 1992 to make headway this year. With Ron Paul waking up libertarian-conservatives and with John McCain chasing conservatives away, the Libertarians should work overtime to pick up these votes. I'd like to see their candidate get double digits at least.

Man arrested for reciting profance rap lyrics.

Cato celebrates the embryo with 2 mothers because it helps fight genetic diseases.

Boortz finally noticed that it appears Clinton and Obama have agreed to make each other their vice-presidents. He must be behind reading my blog.

RomneyCare in Massachusetts has driven up the cost of health care. Of course it has. The mandates increase demand, so the price goes up. Government payments increase demand, so the price goes up. Understanding supply, demand, and their relationship to price is pretty easy. People should try it. I thought Romney was supposed to understand that stuff. Every candidate's big government plan will do the same. And the rising costs will be blamed on the greed of health care companies, pushing voters toward the worst policy of all - full socialized medicine.

Panhandlers in Oregon town make $300 a day. Who says Americans aren't generous?

I'm always interested in more ways to enjoy a woman's breasts. Wine bra.

Good news on the budget. Harry Reid wants to work with continuing resolutions all year, so the budget won't go up. Until next year.

Thomas Sowell questions both Hillary Clinton and John McCain's experience.

US government makes adoption of Guatemalans harder.

US going backward on free trade.

Microsoft plans to end support for Windows XP on June 30 of this year. Less than 5 months. The alternative is to switch to Vista and all its problems. If that idea bother you like it does me, you can sign a petition to ask Microsoft to extend XP's life.
