If he had done this 7 years ago, the cost of health care would have declined and we wouldn't have nearly as much of a tremendous debt. Maybe it finally occurred to him we can't fight the war on terror or check Russian and Chinese aggression if we're broke. This may not be too little, too late, but it's darn close if it isn't.

The downside for Obama is that he would be slimed by the Clintons like Gore was.
