More evidence that we should never believe the government about counterfeiting.

In the past several weeks, police have seized counterfeit polymer bills in cities within the Lower Mainland area surrounding Vancouver.“What we think is happening is that people are so confident in the notes is that they’re not really looking at them,” said Sgt. Duncan Pound, who works with the RCMP Federal Serious and Organized Crime unit.
“The security features only work if people are looking at them before they accept them,” he said."

It's just a false sense of security.
