EU officials cut spending in upcoming budget and agree to cap spending. I doubt this is as significant are reported, but it shows even EU politicians are less evil than American politicians.

A competitive marketplace provides higher quality products at lower prices, but switching between a monopoly socialist prison food supplier and monopoly fascist prison food supplier in Ohio prisons is unlikely to provide any benefits because both are monopolies and both are controlled by government.
