Regulation

San Diego removes red light cameras. Good for them.

Government pressures Google, Microsoft and Apple to protect people's privacy on mobiles, but the problem of privacy was created by government regulation. Government regulation, especially IP laws, drastically limit competition in the mobile market. Because of that, vendors don't have to protect privacy. This is another case of government purporting to solve a problem it created. But government doesn't really want people to have privacy. This is just political cover. The government wants all your information.
