ECONOMY:

How lost 40 percent of its millionaires from 2007 to 2009. Now we're all equally poor. The Occupiers still aren't happy though.

TAX AND SPEND:

You know how politicians always proclaim their love of democracy. That's a bunch of crap. They love being elected, but they don't want to be subject to the will of the people. Case in point:
""It is not for others to decide but the Greek people to decide the fate of this agreement," Prime Minister George Papandreou told the electorate in Athens just days after the EU thought he had agreed to push the deal through the Greek parliament. "We believe in democratic participation — we are not afraid of it. This vote will be the foundation for a new Greece."His call for a public referendum on the deal was met Tuesday with accusations of betrayal from France, shock from economists, stunned silence from Germany, markets plunged around the world and speculation was rampant that giving the people the final word could sink European banks and perhaps the EU itself."
Oops. God forbid the people actually be allowed to make decisions for themselves. De Tocqueville said that democracy will survive until people decide they can use the power of government to steal all the money of the producers until everybody is destitute. This referendum in Greece represents the reality of his observation, and it will, hopefully, destroy the fantasy of democracy everywhere. Western democracy is doomed. The sooner, the better. Once that happens, let's hope people throw the crooks out all over the world and demand freedom instead. The alternative will be worse. But I'm not holding my breath. De Tocqueville is on the verge of getting the last laugh, and we're all going to pay for not heeding his warning.

GLOBAL WARMING:

Global warming fraud exposed as pseudo-science. Maybe he's been reading this blog.

Britain supposedly defunds green energy. This is the wave of the future. Our government is broke. It can't fund anything. It will stop funding these boondoggles whether we want it to or not. Thank goodness.

POLICE STATE:

TSA's porno-scanners exposed by the government. Yes, I said by the government. Better late than never.

FOREIGN POLICY:

While Obama pretends he's going to pull all US troops out of Iraq as demanded by the US installed Iraqi government (he won't), he's also planning bolster the number of terrorist targets - I mean US troops - he stations in the Persian Gulf.
"The Obama administration plans to bolster the American military presence in the Persian Gulf after it withdraws the remaining troops from Iraq this year, according to officials and diplomats. That repositioning could include new combat forces inKuwait able to respond to a collapse of security in Iraq or a military confrontation with Iran."
Why not create more terrorists? The government can never create enough terrorists to scare the American people.

POLITICS:

It's always funny when a member of the most successful criminal organization in the history of the world accuses another organization, no matter how bad, of being a mafia. I agree the NCAA is terrible, but it's nowhere near as bad as the US government.

Rumors of Ron Paul running a third party campaign, perhaps as a Libertarian, are driving the Republican establishment nuts. These rumors hurt his chances to win the nomination, and that works in the establishment's favor, so I don't put any weight on them.

EDUCATION:

Ohio emergency crews stage a mock zombie attack on college campus. Was this supposed to help the students get a better education? Of course not. It distracted students from their education. This was just to scare them and convince them to bow down and worship the government.

GLOBAL WARMING AND ENERGY:

A typical snow storm leaves 2.7 million without power in the northeast. This shows how badly government has degraded our power grid, which was designed a century ago and can't be replaced because government controls it. Of course the storm came early in the year, but the electric grid doesn't get more robust in the winter.

Record snowfall in New York on the Occupy movement's Climate Justice day. The Al Gore effect strikes again.

POLICE STATE:

Man harassed by FBI after 9/11 puts tons of personal minutia online, thinking too much information makes him anonymous. I don't think so. I think it makes him an easy patsy for anybody who chooses to use him that way.

WAR:

Theory on why governments wage war.
"The conduct of America’s – or any country’s – foreign policy, therefore, is the province of a very small group at the very top of the political pyramid: what might be called, for lack of a better group description, the ruling class, otherwise known as the “Establishment.” These are the chief actors, – aside from freelancers like terrorist groups, various “liberation” movements, and George Soros – on the world stage."
Foreign policy is the where government agents enjoy the least accountability.
"The politicians, in short, are in it to stay in it: they are in the business of acquiring and keeping power, and that is what motivates them in all matters foreign and domestic."
That's what attracted them to government employment in the first place.
"The “national interest,” the “world revolution,” the peculiar destiny afforded us as sainted beneficiaries of “American exceptionalism” – all these disparate brands of ideological snake-oil, boiled down to their essence, are just naked self-interest colored with various shades of rhetorical mumbo-jumbo."
Yet we fall for it every time.

SOCIALISM:

Unions are on the verge of ruining Qantas Airlines. Unions are going extinct because they keep bankrupting their companies.

ECONOMY:

Defense of flash trading. The sooner information reaches the market, the better for all of us. This is same argument for insider trading.

TAX AND SPEND:

Government economists commission a secret study that claims having too little government debt is a bad thing. Only government.

Suddenly when I see government budget info on the web, I see a big category called income security. It's about the same size as social security and national defense. Does it get any more Orwellian than that? The government steals your income to give you income security? What a joke. I bet within a month we'll start hearing this from liberal talking heads.

This is a great cartoon.

But government has all the power. Every bit of power the banks have was given to them by the government.

EDUCATION:

Nock's observations:
"Thus a system of State-controlled compulsory popular instruction is a great aid in making Homo sapiens an easy mark for whatever deleterious nonsense may be presented to him under the appearance of authority. One does not have to go farther than the account which the Pickwick Papers give of the great election at Eatanswill to see how this is so. The spread of literacy enabled Mr. Pott of the Gazette and Mr. Slurk of the Independent to approach the credulousness of a greater number of people than they could otherwise reach, and to debauch their credulousness much more effectively. It enabled Mr. Pott to play upon the meanest prejudices of the Blues, and Mr. Slurk to inflame the worst passions of the Buffs; and thus to keep alive the feud of ignorant partisanship, like the feud of the Greens and Blues in Rome and Byzantium so long ago, or the feud of Whigs and Tories, Democrats and Republicans, Black Shirts and Red Shirts, in more recent years."
Still going on today.

WAR ON DRUGS:

The elite hacker organization Anonymous threatens a Mexican drug cartel because they kidnapped one of its members. I swear to God I ran a Shadowrun campaign like this 15-20 years ago. We're living in a sci-fi reality of chaos and and social breakdown thanks to the most successful organized criminal syndicate in history: the US government. Let's think about this. They aren't threatening alcohol producers. They aren't threatening tobacco producers. They aren't threating the producers of prescription drugs. Government's unconstitutional ban on drugs has created this situation. And it's not just that. Hackers haven't attacked anybody who loves freedom demanding violence. The entire hacker community is a response to government oppression and targets government and its allies.

POLICE STATE:

Texas sheriff employs first armed UAV.

FOREIGN POLICY:

I don't think Romney's claim that he would allow the Israeli government to guide US foreign policy toward Israel is unusual. I imagine as a general rule the US does this with all its allies. It was NATO that pressured the US to attack Libya, not vice-versa. When you have an activist foreign policy, it has to be tit for tat.

POLITICS:

Lew Rockwell's political blog used to be all Ron Paul all the time. Now the majority of his posts attack Herman Cain. Of course Lew has a horse in this race, and he's doing whatever he can to take Cain down. He did something similar when Rick Perry shot to the top. But this time it's different. I don't think Lew ever thought Perry was a threat, and Perry collapsed under his own weight. But it's clear Lew thinks Cain is a threat. And before Perry shot to the top, since he fell by the side and since Cain shot to the top, Paul has stayed the same, polling about ten percent. I love Paul's enthusiasm and his relative commitment to principle. I love Rockwell's commitment to promoting Paul. But it isn't working. Paul still can't gain traction, and I' think it's because he fails to speak clearly from libertarian principle. He also fails to focus on the personal issue that matter to voters: taxes. Paul has the policies, but he fails to communicate them effectively to the electorate. We're going to be screwed again.

Nice job using Hollywood stars to expose the Occupy movement. If Wall Street execs were this pretty, nobody would protest them.

TAX AND SPEND:

Another company handsomely paid by taxpayers to carry out boondoggle government goals has gone bankrupt.
"As the government prepares Thursday to commit billions of dollars to bring high-speed Internet to rural areas, the biggest-ever such project has collapsed. The company Open Range, backed by a commitment of $267 million in loans from the Agriculture Department, filed for bankruptcy this month. Taxpayers are on the hook for $74 million that the upstart hasn’t repaid. And now the company, some analysts and a senior government official are blaming poor judgment and Washington bureaucracy as the reasons Open Range failed."
I wonder if people realize how common this stuff has become. Our government is destroying our country at an amazing rate.

REGULATION:

The relative free market in China.

EDUCATION:

Here goes Ron Paul, confusing things again. He argues that he has no intention of ending student loans right away. Why not? Student loans are harmful to the students because they drive up the price of college. They're harmful to the taxpayer because government steals their money to fund them. They're harmful to our economy because they take resources out of the productive private economy and squander them in the parasitic political economy. This is why Ron Paul can't break into the mainstream. If he would stand up on principle and say he would immediately abolish all student loans to improve the lives and education of students, the lives of taxpayers, and the lives of every American, he might win the nomination. But he won't stand on principle.

Here's the numbers on Obama's vote buying through student loan modification program.
"The monthly impact of the president's new effort for most Americans paying off college debt will be between $4 and $8."
Wow.

POLICE STATE:

I have contacted Major Faulkner so far, because I figured he was going to run them out. If they're not out by Monday, I'm going to email him and ask him how that works. I doubt just anybody can set up a tent and move into Courthouse Square. I think it tea partiers tried to do that, they'd be run out the first night. Tea Partiers in Richmond Virginia feel the same way.
""The city of Richmond is allowing Occupy Richmond to blatantly break the law day after day while forcing other groups to strictly comply," a news release from the tea party group said."
I think this is happening everywhere.

The reason I fault them is because they hired Dr. Thorsen to debunk the link between thimerosal in vaccines and autism—which he did to their satisfaction. However, CDC officials may have played a significant role in "guiding" this research to their desired end, and now that Thorsen has been exposed as a fraud, the agency still upholds his research as being of high caliber."

The US government can't protect its own computers or satellites from hackers, but it's using the pretense it can protect you to seize control of the internet.

SOCIALISM:

The Occupy protesters are suffering under their own localized socialism.
"Newly sprung ex-cons and vagrants rousted from other parks are crashing the Occupy Wall Street protest, where gourmet meals are free and boozy, drugfueled parties are on tap, the movement’s leaders griped yesterday.“They’re telling people who leave prison to go to Zuccotti Park,” lamented Daniel Zetah, a leader of the OWS community-relations group.
Volunteer Lauren Digioia, 26, said, “We have drug dealing going on here, gang activity, public intoxication. There are a lot of instigators. There are a lot of vultures.
“Everyone knows we give out free food and sleeping bags, and it’s a perfect opportunity for squatters.”"
Maybe they'll finally get the education they failed to receive in our communist school system. Socialism is inherently inefficient. It robs the productive. It rewards parasites. It promotes cronyism. It destroys the character of the people who suffer under it.

TAX AND SPEND:

Story tries to make Angela Merkel into a hero for pressuring banks into taking a 50 percent haircut on Greek debt versus only a 21 percent haircut. This story rings of truth. The banks couldn't stand a full default. But at the same time I bet it doesn't tell the whole story. My guess is the politicians found another way to pay off the bankers. This is a temporary band-aid. The euro will collapse. The longer it takes, the more wealth European taxpayers will lose.

I don't know whether to post this under tax and spend or health care. It doesn't take a Mises scholar to explain that taxing healthy fat is a bad idea. Naturally people will become less healthy and poorer, making them even less healthy. Nobody would ever suggest that taxing something essential to life, like CO2, makes sense. Oh wait...

GLOBAL WARMING AND ENERGY:

Pressed to answer, climate frauds admit the planet did not warm over the last decade even though CO2 emissions continued to rise. They admit they can't explain it. I can. The climate is dominated by natural processes, not human activity.

POLITICS:

There's always a movement to abolish the Electoral College. People are only against it when the other party is in power because they fear the power of incumbency.

MEDIA:

The politicians in the House informed the media that they would only work 109 days in 2012. That's a lie. These politicians will work as many or more hours than the average American. They just won't work them in Congress. They'll work them in back rooms, at dinners, at bars, at shows at parties and on trips surrounded by lobbyists. This doesn't show that politicians are lazy. It shows they care far, far, far, far, far, ..., far more about the people who pay them than they care about the people who don't. Anybody who thinks their representative cares what they think is an anachronistic fool. Politicians, like every other human being, care about advancing their own economic interests. Gosh, politicians aren't Jesus Christ. Who would have guessed? That's why we have to take away all their power.

SOCIALISM:

TAX AND SPEND:

Ten facts that illustrate how government employees live the high life at our expense. This is my favorite:
"Insider trading is perfectly legal for members of the U.S. Congress – and they refuse to pass a law that would change that."
And idiots think Wall Street is our problem. Wall Street can't legally steal our money and criminalize peaceful behavior. Only government can.

European banks agree to take a 50 percent loss on Greek government debt. That's a pretty big default.

REGULATION:

Here's another example of how government corrupts businesses and our economy in order to enrich the politicians and their cronies at our expense.
"While spending on lobbying has slowed for some sectors, it has surged for fast-growing high-tech firms that have faced increased scrutiny from lawmakers and regulators over their privacy policies and other business practices, lobbying reports filed recently with Congress show."
Politicians have forced these companies to give them money by threatening to regulate them. These are gods of corporations demanding tribute with threats. The inevitable result is the biggest companies will help write the regulations that protect them from competition from smaller companies, leading to lower quality, more expensive products.

Monsanto patents broccoli. Not genetically modified broccoli. Just regular old broccoli.
"The rights to the patents are being held by US company Monsanto. The company Syngenta which had appealed against the patent, has now surprisingly proposed the cancellation of the planned hearing. The EPO is following this request from industry. This means that the patent for the broccoli, which is derived by traditional breeding methods, will now be upheld with only minor modifications."
So Monsanto paid off its competitor to cancel the meeting.

The government calls people who take advantage of information parasites, not itself. This title is ironic.

EDUCATION:

Government colleges raise tuition and fees by eight percent. Of course they did. Government is funding them.

Comparison of government schools and prisons.

HEALTH CARE:

I've been talking with people about how, when I was a kid and we'd drive through the county, cows in pastures lined every road. We'd see tens of thousands on an hour long drive. At that time, all beef was high quality, pasture fed beef. Now you see hardly any. That's because most beef production has been moved to factory feed lots like this.
Feedlot beef
That's just horrible. It's unhealthy for the cows and for the people who eat them.

Government's hospitals feed people unhealthy food from government's food corporations.

Supposedly a new drug will increase longevity, but it seems to me the results they're seeing come from the high fat diet, and the researchers don't realize it.
"Mice given the new drug, called SRT1720, gorged on high-fat food for four months without gaining weight or developing diabetes, and ran twice as far on a treadmill as their control-group counterparts. Similar drugs are expected to follow down the pipeline."
I assume they mean low carb with their high fat diet. That diet is more healthy, it provides more energy and it keeps animals from being fat.
"He noted that the blood sugar-lowering effects from SRT1720 observed in the study were present in mice on a high-fat diet, but not in mice on standard fare. This suggests that SRT1720 won’t produce hypoglycemia, a dangerous dip in blood sugar that is a common side effect of diabetes treatments."
Again, a high fat, low carb diet will reduce blood sugar, so the drug isn't making this happen, the diet is. This is sad.

The uprising that began earlier this year was organized, armed and supported by French and British intelligence. NATO warplanes and helicopters, and special forces, did the serious fighting and broke Gadaffi’s forces. All the gun waving rebels were window dressing to cover a western military intervention that was supposedly for "humanitarian" purposes."
Lots of people claimed the Iraq war was for oil. I think it was for more than that, most notably that Saddam Hussein had decided to sell oil in currency other than dollars. Libya was a war for oil.

POLITICS:

Obama is putting is lawlessness on parade, proclaiming he will use executive power to do what he wants since Congress won't do what he wants. This is why I call him Pharaoh Obama.

TAX AND SPEND:

Dr. Ron Paul treated Medicare and Medicaid patients for free instead of collecting federal payments.

FEDERAL RESERVE:

The New York Times of all papers explains how the Fed's interest rates harm banks and investment.
"Today, banks are paying savers almost nothing for their deposits. As it turns out, the banks are not minting money on those piles of cash. Lending levels have not bounced back from only a few years ago and the loans going out are not keeping pace with the deposits rushing in.What’s more, the profitability of each new loan has shrunk. Because the Federal Reserve effectively sets the floor off which banks price their lending rates, its decision to lower interest rates to near zero means the banks earn less money on the deposits they lend out.The banks are also earning less on the deposits left over to invest. They typically park that money overnight at the Fed for a pittance, or invest it in ultra-safe securities, like bonds backed by the government. But with interest rates so low, the yields on those investments have been crushed."
When the New York Times is explaining this stuff, you know it's going mainstream. The Fed is in serious trouble. The sooner we get rid of it, the better we'll all be.

POLITICS:

This is a creepy Herman Cain ad. Who in the world thought this was a good idea?

LOCAL:

It's funny I had to read about Dayton inviting immigrants in the SF Chronicle thanks to Tucker's link on Mises.org. I didn't see anything about it in the local paper. Taqueria Mixteca is a great little restaurant. One my local favorites and one of the few menus I have on my fridge. Few of their employees speak English, but they provide good service and good food. Of course Taqueria Mixteca has been thriving for years. It's not the product of some new policy. And I guarantee that policy won't be popular locally. The Dayton Daily News has an article on this today.

Unemployment falls locally.
"The Dayton rate dropped to 10.7 percent from 10.9 percent in August and 11.7 percent in September 2010.The Montgomery County rate dipped slightly to 9.6 percent from 9.7 percent in August and 10.5 percent in August 2010."
It's sad that those horrific rates are good news.

Obama Don’t Need No Stinking Trials

Obama Don’t Need No Stinking Trials
by Mark Luedtke

Are you on President Obama’s hit list? Is your loved one? How can you know? The targets, who selects them and the evidence for putting them on the list are all secret. Did you even know Obama had a hit list?

On January 27, 2010 The Washington Post reported, “Both the CIA and the JSOC maintain lists of individuals, called "High Value Targets" and "High Value Individuals," whom they seek to kill or capture. The JSOC list includes three Americans, including Aulaqi, whose name was added late last year. As of several months ago, the CIA list included three U.S. citizens, and an intelligence official said that Aulaqi's name has now been added.”

Obama had tried to assassinate Anwar al-Awlaki (Aulaqi above) several times before, but failed. However, on September 30, he succeeded, and the Constitution died.

Reuters reports the Obama administration makes the following legal argument to justify assassinating Americans, “... the actions were permitted by Congress when it authorized the use of military forces against militants in the wake of the attacks of September 11, 2001.” It’s one thing for US troops to kill an anonymous American revolutionary in a firefight on a battlefield. It’s another to target them for assassination.

Obama officials claim that Awlaki was a terrorist, but there’s no evidence he was anything but a propagandist. In fact, Awlaki was recently an ally of the US government. According to Foxnews, “Aulaqi (Awlaki) was invited to and attended a luncheon at the Pentagon in the secretary of the Army's Office of Government Counsel.” He denounced al Qaeda and the 9/11 attacks. Later he fled the country because the FBI threatened to arrest him for consorting with prostitutes. Obama’s apologizers want us to think he was implicated in 9/11, but he never was. This brings up the specter that Awlaki was murdered for political reasons, not terrorism. But because Obama claimed the power of judge, jury and executioner - he didn’t even bother indicting Awlaki - we can’t know. How convenient.

Imagine if you decided your neighbor was a terrorist and you murdered him based on that decision. Afterwards, you claimed you had evidence of his terrorist activities but you refused to publish it because of national security reasons. You would be charged with murder. Is the law against murder different for Obama? Is Obama more trustworthy than you? Because absolute power corrupts absolutely, the president is the least trustworthy person on the planet.

The president’s war powers don’t include the power to assassinate Americans on his own authority. Alwaki is accused of treason. The Constitution demands that Americans accused of treason get a trial. The Fifth Amendment demands government provide due process to anybody accused of a crime. It doesn’t say “except during war”. This wan’t a case of US troops combating rebellious Americans on a battlefield. Obama specifically targeted Awlaki for assassination then murdered him. Nothing can prevent him from doing the same to you or me. The most lawless president since Lincoln just stomped the last vestiges of the Constitution to dust under his jackboots.

Even more terrifying than Obama’s execution of an American citizen is the near universal support he’s received for doing so. It’s as if the American people fail to understand that by claiming the power to assassinate Awlaki, Obama has also claimed the power to execute every American on his own authority. You or I may be next. It makes me long for the good old days when Bill Clinton just ordered audits of his political opponents. That was just over a decade ago. That’s how fast our society is degenerating.

I can’t help but laugh at the hypocrisy on the right. Conservatives claim to support the Constitution. When Democrats are in power, they point out the government screws up pretty much everything it does. They point out we shouldn’t trust President Obama. But when Obama claims the ultimate power, the unconstitutional power to execute Americans on his own authority, they support him.

But the hypocrisy on the left is even worse. Remember when leftists railed against the indefinite imprisonment of Jose Padilla without a trial? Remember when they claimed the war on terror was an illegal war? Remember when they railed against harsh interrogation techniques and imprisoning foreign enemy combatants indefinitely in Guantanamo? Now they suddenly make the argument that the war on terror is legal, and they cheer Obama for assassinating an American. There’s no such thing as the antiwar or pro-civil rights left. Leftists love war, murder and oppression as long as it’s done by Democrats. They’re only against it when it’s done by Republicans.

This hypocrisy highlights the moral and intellectual bankruptcy dominating our society. Moral degenerates - elected by misguided voters - control both parties and the corporate media. Only dictators assassinate their citizens. Americans used to oppose dictators. Now they celebrate their own. Working together, Republicans, Democrats and the voters who empower them have divided and conquered America and marched our country so far down the Road to Serfdom that totalitarian murder is now cheered in America. Americans will regret allowing this.

ECONOMY:

147 corporations that control a significant portion of the world's wealth. This is an approximation of the world's ruling class. Because politicians advance their personal economic interests like everybody else, they sell the wealth and power they steal from us to the highest bidder.

Here's a good reminder that Republican leaders are no different than Democrat leaders.
"According to Business Insider, Paul-hater and Keynesian neocon David Frum is now saying: "It's Time We Republicans Finally Admitted That Paul Krugman Has Been Right.""
With supposed friends like these, who need enemies?

The US failed to make the list of the top ten countries in which to start a business.

The government was responsible for 71 percent of subprime loans. When you count the CRA and Fed policy and regulations, I'd say it's closer 100 percent.

The one percent is the state, not the capitalists. I think most of the super-rich, if not all, are part of the state. I don't think there's a billionaire in the world who didn't take advantage of government violence to make that much money.
"The state is the institution that essentially redefines criminal wrongdoing to make itself exempt from the law that governs everyone else."
That's a wonderfully succinct definition.

TAX AND SPEND:

Democrats call for Obama to ignore Congress and the Constitution and steal more people's money and use it to create jobs. It's like they don't realize he's already the most lawless president since Lincoln.

This plan to save money by abolishing paper dollars is hilarious.
"The move to a coin would cost money in the short term, but eventually save money because paper currency lasts about 42 months — while coins theoretically last forever. Moving to a coin could save $5.6 billion over 30 years, according to the Government Accountability Office."
My first thought is even paper money isn't worthless enough for government. My second is, given the federal budget is about $4 trillion a year, and these guys are debating reducing it by $5.6 billion over 30 years, we're screwed. That's like trying to empty the ocean one thimble at a time.

Remember when the so-called super-committee of twelve was going to meet in secret so they could work out a deal to cut the deficit? They meant secret from us, not the ruling the class. 200 lobbyists are swarming the secret meetings of the super-committee. Government never obeys laws. It just forces us to.

REGULATION:

Obama is forcing mortgage companies to refinance underwater mortgages. Mortgage companies employees, other than Fannie and Freddie which are owned by the government, can make the best decisions for their companies, not government.
"President Obama is planning to tout the expanded program during a visit with homeowners in hard-hit Nevada, as part of a new “We Can’t Wait” campaign."
Nevada is a swing state. He won it in 2008, and he's in danger of losing it in 2012. Obama is using other people's money to buy votes.

Here's a good reminder that it's not only federal regulations that are strangling our economy: Florida state government now requires interior designers obtain licenses.

EDUCATION:

Here's another example of how government corrupts everything it touches.
"The American Bar Association and 200 law schools it accredits are under growing pressure from Congress to quell complaints that colleges are misleading students about job prospects and saddling graduates with loans they can't afford to repay."
Government money produces lies, lies and more lies.

WAR:

FOREIGN POLICY:

This is another example of how government perverts economic incentives. Wall Streeters are donating to the man who is working to wipe them out in hopes of convincing him not to. Apparently they don't realize Obama is a Marxist ideologue.

Obama's backers call on blacks to vote for him just because he's black. Can you imagine if somebody called on whites to vote for a candidate just because he's white?

The Occupiers continue to show modern Americans the evils of leftism. These people are digging another temporary grave for leftism. But like a classic horror villain, leftism will always come back to life and threaten us again.

Not too long ago, I explained the Alinsky, Obama, Occupier connection. Now conservative media is catching on.

I don't think that this criticism that Cain isn't doing things the establishment way is meaningful. People vote, not organizations.

ECONOMY:

The capitalist one percent provides the standard of living the rest of us enjoy.
"In addition to not realizing that the wealth of the so-called 1 percent is the foundation of the standard of living of the so-called 99 percent, what the protesters also do not realize is that the "greed" of those who seek to become part of the 1 percent, or to enlarge their position within it, is what serves progressively to improve the standard of living of the 99 percent."
This would be true in a free market, and it's largely true in our economy, but because government has effectively seized control of most production in America, we're a lot poorer than we yet realize.
"Of course, this does not apply to wealth that has been acquired by such means as obtaining government subsidies or preventing competition through protective tariffs and other forms of government intervention. These are methods that are made possible to the extent that the government is permitted to depart from a policy of strict laissez-faire and thereby arbitrarily reward or punish firms."
Exactly.

TAX AND SPEND:

How government spending harms the economy.

Rothbard on the consumption tax: the form of the tax doesn't matter.
"We conclude with the observation that there has been far too much concentration on the form, the type of taxation, and not enough on its total amount."
All government spending is ultimately a tax no matter what form it finally takes. John Say explains how government spending makes us poorer:
"Taxation deprives the producer of a product, which he would otherwise have the option of deriving a personal gratification from, if consumed … or of turning to profit, if he preferred to devote it to an useful employment.… [T]herefore, the subtraction of a product must needs diminish, instead of augmenting, productive power."
We loose the product of our labor and our capital.

EDUCATION:

Another happy man just sent his children to private school.
"The school they are attending now is very affordable, and if it weren't for the gov't, all children could afford a quality education like this. Five grand a year, including books and all fees for two kids, 10 and 12, while the state of Alabama spends about 9 grand a year to indoctrinate one student."
Cheaper. Better. We should put government schools out of our misery.

GLOBAL WARMING AND ENERGY:

California implements cap and trade law. California's government is intent on destroying that state.

Dept. of Energy busted for retroactively editing press releases to cover up loans to bad green companies.

WAR ON DRUGS:

Prison supply corporation doesn't want drug decriminalization because it makes so much money of making drugs illegal.

WAR:

Glen Greenwald points out US troops are leaving Iraq in spite of Obama, not because of him. The agreement to withdraw all US troops by year's end was negotiated by Bush. Obama tried to negotiate a new agreement keeping US troops in Iraq, but failed. Moreover,
"There will still be a very substantial presence in that country, including what McClatchy called a “small army” under the control of the State Department. They will remain indefinitely, and that includes a large number of private contractors."
So much for the propaganda.

War profiteers head to Libya.
"As the UK Independent reported yesterday, "British firms were today urged by Defence Secretary Philip Hammond to head to Libya to secure contracts for its reconstruction." Sayeth Secretary Hammond: "Of course I would expect British companies to be, even today, British sales directors, practically packing their suitcases and looking to get out to Libya and take part in the reconstruction of that country as soon as they can.""
And remember when NATO supposedly bombed Libya to save people?
"Lindsey Graham: "Sixty-thousand Libyans have been wounded, 3,000 maimed, 25,000 killed. Let’s get in on the ground. There is a lot of money to be made in the future in Libya.""
25,000 killed. Most of those people would have lived if NATO hadn't invaded. Our government now wages war to destroy countries so our rulers can make money rebuilding them. That's abominable. On Qaddafi's murder:
"CNN showed the tape of his being beaten bloody before he was shot in the head, again and again and again, for our delectation. It was a tribal killing, ordered by the US, and savored by the establishment as well as the perps."
Glad I missed it. This post has a link to video. It's odd how we have video of Saddam Hussein and Qaddafi's deaths, but not Osama bin Laden's.

FREEDOM OF SPEECH:

ACTA signed.

ECONOMY:

Apparently this video predicts:
"The data is clear, 50% unemployment, a 90% stock market drop, and 100% annual inflation . . . starting in 2012."
I didn't watch it. As pessimistic as I am, even I find it hard to believe things will collapse that far, that fast. I think it will take a few years to collapse that far, but if we elect another status quo president in 2012, it will fall that far in the next few years.

TAX AND SPEND:

Did we really need the census to tell us that Washington D.C. is the wealthiest community in the US? No, the more it gets reported, the more people wake up to the looting done by our government.

Cain's 999 plan will raise taxes for most people. The same was said about the flat tax. We shouldn't have to be stuck with a highly progressive income tax, the most punishing income tax known to man, because it's the status quo. The problem with 999 and Perry's flat tax is they attempt to be revenue neutral instead of reducing taxes. In other words, both support the status quo of titanic government.

REGULATION:

Louisiana outlaws cash for second-hand sales. This is going to create a huge black market and a bunch of new criminals just to satisfy the whims of Louisiana's rulers.
"Hardy says the bill is targeted at criminals who steal anything from copper to televisions, and sell them for a quick buck. Having a paper trail will make it easier for law enforcement."
Did you think that government existed to make your life easier? Boy were you wrong. You exist to make life easier for government agents.

FEDERAL RESERVE:

In Wall Street Journal op-ed, Ron Paul explains money, the Fed, Austrian economics, and how the Fed created the current recession. No other presidential candidate has this depth of understanding of economics and therefore how to fix our economy. This is why we should elect him president.

The very sad truth about the Fed:
"In reality, there is no QE1, QE2, TARP, etc. These are not separate stimulus efforts that actually started and concluded independent of one another. They are all a part of one long fiat injection into our economy that never ended. The Fed is ALWAYS creating fiat. Some of it is reported, most of it is not. Ask yourself this: Are interest rates still at near zero? If the answer is yes, then the fiat still flows."
Bernanke never talks about how much money he's printing to hold interest rates at zero. They don't stay at zero on their own.

GLOBAL WARMING AND ENERGY:

Remember that hole in the ozone we're supposed to panic over? Remember when government banned the most effective refrigerant known to man over it?
"Remember we first found the ozone hole when satellites that measure ozone were first available and processed (1985).  It is very likely to have been there forever, varying year to year and decade to decade as solar cycles and volcanic events affected high latitude winter vortex strength."
Imagine that.

POLICE STATE:

TSA and Tennessee state cops randomly searching trucks. Who needs warrants or even probable cause? This has to be exactly what happened during the rise of the Nazis.

WAR:

POLITICS:

Cain tied to a corporate electric utility scandal.

This scandal about Cain using campaign money to buy his own books from his own company seems like cut and dry corruption to me, but I don't see the problem with Romney purchasing services from an old ally. He has to buy services from somebody, so why not an ally? The only question is the amount of money involved, and that's a matter of degree, not a fundamental problem. What both these scandals remind us though is that politicians are working to enrich themselves, not for the rest of us. Some are just smarter at hiding it.

Obama's approval rating hits new low among blacks: 78 percent.
