Free kibbles

SOCIALISM:

Unionizing TSA would be a $30 million gift to union bosses, paid for by our tax dollars.

FREEDOM OF SPEECH:

It never hurts to draw more attention to the terribly oppressive Combating Online Infringement and Counterfeits Act (COICA) bill. This bill would empower the government to shut down entire ISPs if it suspected copyright infringement was happening anywhere on the service. No thanks.

ECONOMY:

Americans are voting with their feet, leaving states with higher burdens of government for states with lower burdens of government. Good for them.

How to store gold.

TAX AND SPEND:

Republicans are already backpedaling from the anti-earmark pledge. That didn't take long. Nice chart shows which states donate money to earmarks and which states receive money in earmarks. This shows that, like all government spending, earmarks are just a transfer of wealth. Obama must love them.

The next stage of the collapse of the EU and the euro hit with Ireland's government requesting a bailout.
"The entire European Project is now at risk of disintegration, with strategic and economic consequences that are very hard to predict.
In a speech this morning, EU President Herman Van Rompuy (poet, and writer of Japanese and Latin verse) warned that if Europe’s leaders mishandle the current crisis and allow the eurozone to break up, they will destroy the European Union itself.
“We’re in a survival crisis. We all have to work together in order to survive with the euro zone, because if we don’t survive with the euro zone we will not survive with the European Union,” he said."
How's that tax, spend and inflate policy for decade after decade working out for you? The poor aristocrats fear of losing their power.
"Mr Delors told colleagues that any crisis would be a “beneficial crisis”, allowing the EU to break down resistance to fiscal federalism, and to accumulate fresh power. The purpose of EMU was political, not economic, so the objections of economists could happily be disregarded. Once the currency was in existence, EU states would have give up national sovereignty to make it work over time. It would lead ineluctably to the Monnet dream of a fully-fledged EU state. Bring the crisis on."
This is how aristocrats think: let's create a crisis so we can grab more power. Don't you feel sorry for them?
"Greece is now under an EU protectorate, or the “Memorandum” as they call it. This has prompted pin-prick terrorist attacks against anybody associated with EU rule. Ireland and Portugal are further behind on this road to serfdom, but they are already facing policy dictates from Brussels, but will soon be under formal protectorates as well in any case. Spain has more or less been forced to cut public wages by 5pc to comply with EU demands made in May."
Nice road to serfdom reference.

FEDERAL RESERVE:

I keep saying ridicule is the most powerful tool we have to overcome oppression, and fortunately I'm not the only one who recognizes it.
"There is a cartoon video all over the Web that discusses "quantitative easing." It is a riot. This is very, very bad for Bernanke. When the public starts laughing at a senior government bureaucrat, he is in trouble. You can view the video here."
The video is hilarious.

Criticism of Bernanke grows.

Price inflation isn't just limited to gas and food now. Clothing prices are on the rise.

HEALTH CARE:

Massachusetts health care police aggressively going after people who can't afford health care or the fines. The poor always suffer the most from government intervention. Coming soon to Obamacare nation.

Americans are not signing up for Obamacare's pre-existing condition insurance.

Humane Society investigation uncovers food safety issues and animal abuse at egg producer protected from competition by the FDA. Our food supply would be far healthier if government had no role in it. Fierce competition, insurance companies and private sector ratings agencies would be far more effective at keeping our food safe and cost us significantly less. The last thing we need is more government interference.

GLOBAL WARMING:

The Al Gore effect to strike again with record cold during global warming hearings.

IPCC official tells the truth.
"Climate policy has almost nothing to do anymore with environmental protection, says the German economist and IPCC official Ottmar Edenhofer. The next world climate summit in Cancun is actually an economy summit during which the distribution of the world’s resources will be negotiated."
It's very odd that this guy would tell the truth like that.

POLICE STATE:

TSA arrests man for a friendly tap on the chest to TSA agent.

It turns out that when an airport opts-out of TSA screening, it's not really opting out at all. TSA only allows the airport to select one of five companies for private screening, and those companies are required to follow TSA procedures. A thug by any other name is still a thug. This is classic fascism.

New Jersey legislature takes on the TSA. Right now this just looks like political posturing, but it's a start. Boortz proposes women groped by the TSA imitate a Meg Ryan fake orgasm from When Harry Met Sally. That's pretty funny, and maybe a couple women could pull it off while being molested. That's all it would take.

Woman sues TSA for pulling down her top and exposing her breasts in public, then joking about it.

Are TSA gropes spreading disease?

British man convicted of terrorism because of twitter message.
"Last week 27-year-old accountant Paul Chambers lost an appeal against his conviction for comments he made back in January via the social networking hoojamflip Twitter, venting his frustration when heavy snow closed the airport, leaving him unable to visit his girlfriend.
"Crap!" he wrote. "Robin Hood airport is closed. You've got a week and a bit to get your shit together otherwise I'm blowing the airport sky high!!""
Insanity is everywhere.

WAR:

The feminization of the Medal of Honor.
"According to Bill McGurn of the Wall Street Journal, every Medal of Honor awarded during these two conflicts has been awarded for saving life. Not one has been awarded for inflicting casualties on the enemy. Not one."
That's pretty interesting.

Texas Governor Perry supports sending US troops into Mexico. You have to be kidding me.

FOREIGN POLICY:

US government busted for spying in Norway, Denmark, Findland, Sweden and Iceland.

MISC:

While the US marches down the road to serfdom, European nations embrace free market reforms. Because our country was the most economically free in the world for centuries, we inherited the most wealth of any people in history. We're the stupidest people in the world for squandering it.

Moderate drinkers live longer than people who don't drink or heavy drinkers. Good for me.
