But the larger issues I brought up yesterday are still unresolved, and it's those larger issues that drives the birther movement. Obama is hiding something, or many things, that disqualify him from being president. Being ACORNs, Ayers's and Wright's man in the White House is one of them, but there must be others. I think he's hiding that he's a died in the wool Marxist in the Lenin tradition.
Another article from National Review expounds on those larger issues. The Constitution doesn't disqualify somebody for dual citizenship, though it should. We don't need a president with a conflict of interest. I doubt the Founding Fathers ever considered that.
"Regardless of why people may want to see the vault copy, what’s been requested is a primary document that is materially more detailed than what Obama has thus far provided."Or should be more detailed. If the people who've examined those records are to be taken literally
"identical to that in the state’s records",then maybe there is no additional information.
"Astonishingly, reporters see their job not as reporting Obama news but as debunking Obama news, or flat-out suppressing it. How many Americans know, for example, that as a sitting U.S. senator in 2006, Obama interfered in a Kenyan election, publicly ripping the incumbent government (a U.S. ally) for corruption while he was its guest and barnstorming with his preferred candidate: a Marxist now known to have made a secret agreement with Islamists to convert Kenya to sharia law, and whose supporters, upon losing the election, committed murder and mayhem, displacing thousands of Kenyans and plunging their country into utter chaos?"I knew that and wrote about it before the election. I don't think Obama is a Muslim Manchurian candidate either. I think he's a Marxist Manchurian candidate.
Critics suspect Obama received significant illegal foreign campaign donations from Muslim countries. I didn't know that Obama took a hunting trip to Pakistan in 1981 and stayed with Pakistani politicians.
"There may be perfectly benign answers to all of this. But the real question is: Why don’t the media — the watchdog legions who trekked to Sarah Palin’s Alaska hometown to scour for every kernel of gossip, and who were so desperate for Bush dirt that they ran with palpably forged military records — want to dig into Obama’s background?"I assume that's a rhetorical question.
Author wonders why the Obama birth certificate issue is growing. It's because his popularity is falling. The more it falls, the more the birther movement will grow and the more the mainstream press will attack birthers. He also mistakenly claims the issue of Obama birth has been substantially fact checked by the mainstream media. According to what I posted above, it obviously hasn't. The only people who have substantially fact checked this issue are the birthers.
An attorney has produced a seemingly certified copy of a birth certificate from Kenya for Obama. Apparently another such document recently appeared as was quickly showed to be a fake. This document appears to be very similar to other Kenyian birth certificates from the same time and is not obviously a fake. The attorney has asked a court for permission authenticate the document. Wow. If this turns out to be real, just wow. This birther thing just got a whole lot more interesting. We know Obama's a fraud in about every way, but this would be biggest fraud in the history of America. I wonder what Hillary has to do with it. How much you want to bet Bill Clinton is ultimately responsible for uncovering this?
Another conclusion regarding the larger issues driving the birther movement:
"The born overseas scenario is a distraction, but the refusal to release the far more informative vault copy is a symbol of the cover-up of his true life story. If the media had not abandoned its watchdog role for Obama, while aggressively pushing it on two strategically situated opponents, he would never have become president."
Charles Krauthammer says Obama's health care plan isn't dead yet. Duh. We're going to have a hard time killing this compromise bill, but we better. Unions to spend between $10 and $20 million in August to pressure congressman to support health care oppression.
Ohio Senator Sherrod Brown points to Medicare as a evidence that Obama's health care oppression plan is good for America. Hello? Democrats are trying to have it both ways. On the one hand, they point to Medicare's problems as a reason for full health care oppression. On the other hand, they point to Medicare as evidence a government takeover of health care will be good for us.
Mitt Romney defends Romneycare, the model for Obamacare. And conservatives almost nominated this big-government, anti-freedom, "I like mandates" jerk to run for president. If Romney had been elected, the Romneycare proposal that's bankrupting Massachusetts would already be law and bankrupting the US even faster than Medicare. And in the last poll I saw, Romney is leading the Republican field for 2012. I still think my pre-election contention was right. We're better off with Obama as president than McCain. As bad as Obama is, Republicans and the majority of Americans are united against Obama and Democrats. If McCain had won, there would have been no resistance to fast growing government oppression just as there wasn't under Bush. All Democrats would have complained about McCain's big-government plans was they weren't big enough, just like they did with Bush. As bad as Obama is and as successful as he's been, the radical phase of his presidency is over. Republicans will likely gain back many seats in 2010, stopping it entirely like they stopped Bill Clinton's. McCain's growth of government would have continued unresisted for 4 years.
Article calls Obamacare "biological warfare plied against the American People." Great observation and funny too.
Corrupt Chris Dodd and Barack Obama.
These minor rollbacks to public pension plans won't be near enough to avert disaster when they all go broke.
White roofs gaining steam. I always wondered why roofs in the south weren't white. Sometimes solutions to problems, in this case the cost of air conditioning a home in the south, are easy.
Larry Kudlow says it's a new bull market. I think he's right, but it's fueled by a new inflationary bubble. I think now is a very short term buying opportunity as the bubble inflates. As soon as the CPI becomes worrisome, get out. And that will be soon since CPI is already starting to rise. As soon as the Fed raises rates, start selling short. Of course Bernanke said that he didn't expect to raise rates for a couple years, but the CPI won't give hime that luxury, imo, and the Fed will be between a rock and a hard place like the 70s, but much worse because of the scale. Note to Larry, we don't have free market capitalism in America.
Thomas Sowell comments on Obama's amateurism and incompetence, but he still imparts good motives to Obama. I think he's mistaken.
After 18 years, the remains of Scott Speicher, a pilot shot down in the Gulf War, have been found.
China's communists demand the irresponsible US government balance it's budget. Our government has been so terrible for so long, most Americans just don't give a damn anymore. Hoping for good government is a waste of energy. Working for good government is a waste of more energy.
"Suddenly, it was US officials who were promising deep reform to their disgraced economic system rather than demanding it from incompetent foreigners. President Barack Obama's economic team of Clinton-era holdovers, who a decade ago had hectored China on the virtues of fiscal responsibility, now were falling over themselves to reassure the Chinese that their $1.5 trillion stake in US government-issued securities is safe, and that they should buy more at this week's $200 billion Treasury auction. If they don't, we're in big trouble."How pathetic are we that we've empowered a government that makes the communists in China look great by comparison? How pathetic are we that we've empowered a government that makes our country so much more oppressive than China that people would rather move to China than the US? Thanks to a century of hard work by both Democrats and Republicans and the liberals and conservatives who vote for them, America is a banana republic.
"Mark it as a historic Rip van Winkle moment. For those who recall the rhetoric of the cold war, the idea that we would someday be cooperating with Chinese Communists because they had humbled us economically rather than militarily is a startling turnabout. How did they get to be better capitalists than us, and being that they are good capitalists, why are we still spending hundreds of billions a year on high-tech military weapons to counter a potential Chinese military threat when the weapons they are using are all market-driven deployments?"Exactly. China learned the most important lesson of the Cold War. We did not. Economic freedom is a vastly superior system to a command economy. China transformed from a command economy and embraced tremendously greater economic freedom. The US is accelerating its transformation from a free economy into a command economy. There's no secret to why we're declining and China is ascending. Economic freedom. They gaining it. We're losing it. China's communists are communists now in name only. They're really just tyrants. But they're smart tyrants who understand the power of economic freedom. I'm sure Republicans and Democrats understand that power too. Unfortunately, they care more about their personal power and their petty power games to allow us to have economic freedom that brings prosperity for all.
Even liberals are against Obama seizing control of the internet.
""The cybersecurity threat is real," says Leslie Harris, head of the Center for Democracy and Technology (CDT), "but such a drastic federal intervention in private communications technology and networks could harm both security and privacy.""Ya think? And she misses the worst part which is the real goal. This is a Trojan horse to control speech on the net. Naturally this bill is sponsored by a Democrat and a Republican. Bipartisanship is a four letter word.
Article claims that we've never had a government of the people, by the people, for the people. I still claim that this perversion of power came with the creation of the professional politician who makes his living off the backs of the taxpayers. The way to restrict government power is to have citizen representatives who serve a couple of months a year for a couple of terms while spending the rest of their lives working beside their constituents.
Funny how police consider tasers to be deadly weapons in the hands of others.
How come I never ran into any hot TWITs when I enjoyed Peter Pan syndrome?
UK planning to put surveillance cameras in homes to insure good parenting. Obama wishes he thought of that first.
Obama's Homeland Security Department is making harder for qualified sheriffs to arrest illegal immigrants. Illegal immigrants must be a major Democrat constituency. Going into a Hispanic neighborhood and arresting 74 people for traffic violations sounds harassment to me.
New Jersey Court allows cops to stop vehicles for mirror ornaments like fuzzy dice. The growth of government is never going to end until we collapse. I just don't see how we're going to reverse it.
Orbit your own satellite for $8,000. This looks like a smart business model.
Harvard trademarking everyday phrases. How ridiculous is the IP stuff going to get?
Nice videos of Maxine Waters threatening to nationalize the oil industry and Barney Frank planning to nationalize the health care industry. We're a 230 years away from the limited government of the Founding Fathers and only a few years away from the Soviet Union. Those people who continue to pretend we're a capitalist or free market society are doing tremendous damage with their mistake or dishonesty. We know Obama's a fraud in about every way, but this would be biggest fraud in the history of America.
SEIU sighting: California SEIU workers vote to strike over forced furloughs. It makes you wonder if they know what forced furlough means.
Lord Geithner suddenly says smaller deficits are essential to economic recovery. Why didn't he tell us that before Obama doubled our deficit for the year? Why didn't he tell us that before Obama submitted a budget that doubles 230 years of national debt in 10 years? I've said all along that Obama's advisers are telling him his policies are harming America. He's doing it anyway. He's harming us on purpose. This explains why Geithner looks like such a dumbass whenever he's on TV or in front of Congress. He knows Obama's policies are harming us, but he has to support them anyway. He's also setting the stage for an Obama tax increase. I have a better solution. Cut spending. How come that second article pretends Obama hasn't already broken his 95 percent tax promise? Oh yeah. It's Clinton crony George Stephanopoulos.
I've said all along that Obama has no compassion. He never game a dime to charity until the public was looking. Nobody at American Thinking is pointing out the other obvious conclusion draw from this picture, how in the world did Crowley arrest this infirm man on charges of disturbing the peace?
Raising the drinking age to 21 has driven underage drinking underground and made it more dangerous. I think parents should teach kids to drink responsibly. Nothing is cool if you do it with your parents. It's absurd to think you can stop working adults under the age of 21, college students under the age of 21 from drinking. It's counterproductive to try. It undermines the rule of law. It turns regular adults into criminals. It creates health problems and injuries. It's morally indefensible to allow 18 year olds to vote and join the military but not drink. But if I ran an insurance company, I would definitely condition my policies on whether the driver was drunk when an accident occurred, and it would be a big condition for younger drivers.
Why in the world would Kay Bailey Hutchinson's website for governor include hidden words such as "Rick Perry gay"? I expect a firing and an apology will follow soon.
Geneticists discover that all modern humans outside of Africa came from one small tribe out of 14 that managed to cross out of Africa into the Middle East about 70,000 years ago. Article also claims modern humans first appeared 195,000 years ago.
