Free kibbles

This is how socialism destroys countries.  Romney's socialized medicine plan in Massechussets, similar to Schwartzenegger's, Hillary's and Obama's is more expensive than projected because more citizens are signing up for the "free" health care than expected.  Instead of realizing this is he nature of men, and that the end result of continuing to modify the system will be complete socialized medicine at obscene expense even after rationing health care, the socialists raise taxes and increase the burden of government, going down the socialism spiral.  Free people working together in a free market is solution to our health care problems.

Discussion of how China is the world's next superpower, eclipsing the US.  We do not have to allow this to happen.  If we adopt the FairTax and cut the size and scope of government in half, we China will never surpass us without first abandoning tyranny.  We have the power to return to a trajectory of greatness and remain the leader of the world all through this century.

I'm all for more transparent financial markets, but I'm very wary of any plan by the G7 to force that to happen.  Stockholders should force transparency, not international organizations.  The more government gets involved, the more it perverts the markets and reduces the power of the people to regulate the markets themselves for their own interests.

Terrorist bomb strikes Iran.  What's good for the goose...

After all the US has sacrificed and accomplished for the good of the Iraqi people, Sadr says US will always be enemy.

Historic meeting between China and Taiwan.  I hope the Chinese people are watching.  Taiwan provides an excellent model of governance for the Chinese people to learn from.  China accuses 9 Buddhist monks of bombing building under influence of Dalai Lama.

Columnists battle Canada's censorship under the guise of human rights courts.

Obama's elitist comments about bitterness driving people to religion and guns is giving superdelegates pause.  Maybe Obama was talking about Rev. Wright's obvious bitterness in his sermons. Obama says he chose his words poorly, but he stands by the essence of his comments. He is again failing to admit he screwed up.  This guy never admits he's wrong, he just plays word games to try and wriggle out of sticky situations.  He repeats the same comments, just phrased slightly differently.  In Obama's world, people can't support religion, the Second Amendment or the rule of law for immigration on principle, only out of bitterness.  Obama thinks government is the solution to people's frustrations. The burden of government is the cause.  Mickey Kaus highlights the Marxist and racial overtones in Obama's comments and finds them the same as in his race speech.  This is whatObama really thinks.

In the wake of Obama's comments, Hillary pretends she supports the Second Amendment.  But her record is for supporting gun control.

What a surprise that Clinton's words on trade are different than her record.  Hillary proposes 100,000 new cops.  That means taking money from people by force, wasting a bunch of it in Washington, then sending a smaller portion back to the communities she took it from along with mandates to hire cops.  Hey, it worked for Bill, so why not try it.  I think we have more than enough cops already.  What we need to fight crime is a return to personal responsibility and freedom, severely limited government, effective education at a low cost (which government cannot provide), and a growing economy.

Transcript of stuggle in a courtroom as 61 year old court reporting and others struggle with defendent threatening them with a razor blade.  The language reflects the stress of the struggle.  People like this provide hope for the future.

Map of earthquake swarm off Oregan coast.

California plans new beer tax.

Google caught in hypocrisy.  Execs refuse paper's request to photograph their homes.

McCain the Democrat proposes giving tax dollars to homeowners who can't pay their payments and to the unemployed.  Why do we bother with this fiction that we have 2 parties, and that they represent Americans? The president is supposed to be president for everybody, so taking money from everybody by force to give to a subset of the population is immoral as well as unconstitutional. If liberals are so worried about these homeowners and the unemployed, they can reach into their own pockets and give them their own money not to work and to live in houses they can't afford.

LA mayor wants Feds to back off illegal immigration raids because it hurts LA's economy. Maybe they shouldn't have hired illegal aliens in the first place.

So British law won't allow them to hold Osama bin Laden's right hand man.  That I can understand even if I don't agree with it.  I bet Guantanamo would take him.  But why can't they deport him?  Or the Lybian guys? And why must they give them welfare to stay?  That's just lunacy.

State senator proposing steeply increased fines for speeding in a school zone gets busted for speeding in a school zone on the day of the debate of his proposal.

As usual, the American people have it right, liberals have it wrong, and the press is leading us to believe otherwise.  Only 29% of Americans support government overseen national health insurance program.  46% believe the quality would go down compared to 16% who think it would go up.  42% think the price will go up compared to 25% who think the price will go down. Liberals haven't made Americans as dumb as they need them to be yet, but with the destruction they've rained on our schools, they're working on it.

Deportations of illegal aliens are on the rise.  But we'll never solve the illegal immigration problem with deportations.  We have to end the economic incentive for people to come here illegally by enforcing penalties against employers who hire illegal aliens.

Catholic schools closing, with inner city school hit the hardest.

Thomas Sowell explains that Republicans like McCain (the Democrat) always fail with blacks because they approach them like Democrats.  Blacks don't need 2 Democrat parties any more than anybody else, but that's what we've got.  If you want big government, welfare, and hand-outs, you vote Democrat.  If you want economic and political freedom, you vote Libertarian.  The Republicans are just Democrats-lite.

Congresswoman Michele Bachmann understands that freedom is the solution to our energy problems.  I hope she understands it's the freedom for all our problems.

Charles Krauthammer has given up on stopping Iran from developing a nuclear weapon.  I don't think Bush has, like Pat Buchanan suggested.

Obama used his "fair housing" law expertise to force banks to make subprime loans, helping power the subprime mortgage crisis.
