Free kibbles

Gen. Petraeus recommends the US suspend troops withdrawals from Iraq for 45 days at least after the final surge brigade leaves in July. Amb. Crocker is talking about this security agreement.

Sadr calls off massive march against the government and US forces. Why do people follow such a flake? This guy is like a 6 year old. US and Iraqi forces take on the Mehdi Army in Sadr City.

Iran announces it has installed 6,000 new centrifuges for enriching uranium. They're publicly flaunting their enrichment program with only the tiniest veil of misdirection, claiming it's not for weapons. They're laughing at us all the way to the bomb. These are more advanced centrifuges, 5 times more efficient for making weapons grade uranium.

Zimbabwe government is rearming militias and attacking the opposition since the election weekend before last. Mugabe is calling on blacks to invade white-owned farms and chase the white owners off. This intimidation is supposed to insure Mugabe wins a run-off election, but the opposition still claims they won 50.3% of the vote, so no run-off is necessary. The government is still trying to block release of voting results, and their high court is hearing the case. White farmers under siege. Mugabe's hired thugs chase off opposition supporters.

FBI monitoring email, instant messages and cell phones of suspected terrorists around the US. Good, as long as the president has signed off on these intercepts so we can hold him accountable for any abuse. This is what the president is supposed to do during a war.

Congress threatens to shut down domestic spy satellite program. Without knowing what this program is actually doing, I don't have a position on it. It seems unlikely we have enough spy satellites to track suspected terrorists. It seems more likely these satellites would be watching locations, meaning they were monitoring Americans indiscriminately, which they shouldn't do.

Los Angeles proposes global warming tax. The Marxists are surely celebrating. We are brainwashing our children with Al Gore's global warming nonsense. Even the UN admits that global temperatures haven't risen since 1998.

BBC headline reads "Global temperatures 'to decrease'", but this article is hardly skeptical of global warming. That's because a global warming alarmist convinced the BBC to change their article to be more pro-global warming fraud. That's how it works. No honest or balanced articles can be allowed to cast doubt on the global warming con. Growing enlightenment of the people is the enemy of the global warming con-men.

The Fed injects another $50 billion into financial institutions. They'll suck up all the cheap loans they can. The money in our wallets is worth less now. This is what happens when government perverts the free market.

Bloomberg's plan to charge taxpayers tolls to drive on public roads shot down in state legislature.

Olympic committee may cancel torch relay. Hopefully they learned the lesson of giving the Olympics to such an oppressive regime, but I doubt it.

Reason explains that because of Kennedy's stupid quotes and visa restrictions, the US is losing the world's best minds to other countries. One of the reasons the US rose so high last century is the world's best minds fled China, Russia, Germany, eastern Europe, and even western Europe to the US. These failures of our government have terrible consequences. Do we want the next Einstein to live in China? No. We need to return America to the best place in the world for science and engineering, and that means fixing the stupid visa restrictions.

Reason is fed up with calls to service. The best thing anybody can do for their country is provide jobs. Being a government worker is about the worst.

Reason celebrates a Dallas prosecutor who has re-investigated and subsequently freed many wrongfully convicted people.

No politician in America has harmed the US more by helping China oppress human rights and steal US technology than the Clintons, but Hillary has the audacity to tell Bush to boycott the Olympic opening ceremony. Bush should boycott, imo, but it's ironic to see Hillary pretending to take a hard line with China just like Bill pretended to take a hard line with them in 1992 before he gave China the keys to the country.

Following Obama's lead, Hillary Clinton goes on Ellen and plays the gender card.

Hillary Clinton caved to union pressure when she fired her campaign strategist, Mark Penn, for discussing free trade with Columbia. The Clintons are owned by special interests including the Chinese and the unions. Bill Clinton supports the free trade agreement with Columbia. Mark Penn is still in the loop.

Obama feels the need to inform us he's patriotic, unlike his wife and pastor. Obama calls for talks with Iran. That will bolster their status and cause us more problems. This kind of narcissism (I don't think it's naivete, but worse), that make Obama think he can talk anybody into anything, like he's some kind of master of hypnosis just by the force of his personality, is dangerous.

McCain the Democrat plans to "shine the light" on executive pay packages. It's no business of government what anybody gets paid. The good news is "shining a light" isn't proposing legislation. I have no problem if McCain uses his bully pulpit to highlight executive pay packages, as long as government doesn't interfere. I hope this is just to combat Democrat populism.

Robots could do the work of 3.5 million workers in Japan by 2025. Robots will be the caretakers of the aged.

AMD to lay off 10% of its workforce.

2 men got longer sentences than the Barbie Bandits because they both had prior records and both failed to cooperate with authorities, unlike the girls, but the NAACP is claiming discrimination because the 2 men are black.

Tuscon teacher makes students recite the Pledge of Allegiance in English, Spanish, and sign language. First, why is the teacher making students recite the pledge at all? That should be voluntary. Second, is she a Spanish teacher? Or a sign language teacher?

Nevada teachers want to add a gaming tax that would transfer 3% of casino profits to the education budget, and they also want to keep the legislature from considering those funds when they budget for education. This would be a pure wealth transfer from casinos to teachers. They want to put this proposal on the ballot so they run commercials about how moral and compassionate it would be to take money from casinos by force and give it to teachers. Teachers do a terrible job at teaching our students (not all, but in general), but they sure know how to play politics.

Of course spending tax dollars on the war on Iraq is bad for the economy at home. It's always better for Americans to save, invest, spend, or donate their own money instead of having it confiscated by government. But that's not what Nancy Pelosi means. She doesn't want Americans to keep their own money. She wants to confiscate our money for her own special interests to increase her governmental power. And killing US enemies is one of the few legitimate powers of government, which is what our troops are doing in Iraq. I notice Nancy Pelosi doesn't mention how much it would cost taxpayers if we lost the war in Iraq.

Comparing Hillary Clinton to Michelle Obama. For masochists only.

US Marine in Iraq arranges for 5 year old Iraqi boy to get life-saving heart surgery in the US. Our troops are literally winning hearts and minds.

Boortz asks a good question when he wonders if getting an 8 year old a bikini wax is child abuse.
