Free kibbles

81% of Americans think country is going in the wrong direction. They're right. The 2 parties have been taking us in the wrong direction for a century. The right direction is toward freedom and severely limited government.

The economy lost 80,000 jobs in March. Unemployment is still on a par with the 90s at 5.1% When a Republican is in office, 5.1% is a disaster. When a Democrat is president, 5.1% is wonderful.

Reporters are not above the law. The founding tenant of America is that everybody is equal in the eyes of the law. The First Amendment doesn't give reporters a right to withhold information about criminal prosecutions from the courts.

Bernanke defends rescue of Bear Stearns. Bear Stearns exec claims rumors brought down his company, not lack of liquidity. So rumors of bankruptcy created a self-fulfilling prophesy of impending bankruptcy, and Fed had to intervene to enable the sale instead.

Congress demands Mukasey explain his comment that the US failed to listen in on an overseas call before 9/11. It's comforting to know that Democrats finally realize the value of intercepting enemy communications.

After years of belligerence, intimidation, threats, bullying, spying, arming, protecting, and supplying rogue nations, and rolling back freedom in Russia, Putin says he wants to make nice with NATO. I guess he wanted to go out looking like a statesman. His comments are crap. Together with China, Putin started a new Cold War of Terror against the US, and now we have to deal with it.

Democrats once again question Gen. Petraeus' integrity by warning him to be honest about the situation in Iraq. As if he would be anything but honest. These lying sacks of **** should be tossed out on their cans for trying to pretend they have a fraction of the integrity of Gen. Petraeus. Like they're morally superior to anybody. That we allow our terrible, anti-American representatives who do nothing for the benefit of this country, only for themselves at our expense, to carry on such a charade and remain in office is severe indictment of the American people.

Iraqi PM Maliki halts offensive against militias. With the Mahdi Army (why 4 years later is it suddenly being spelled Mehdi Army?) off the streets, that makes sense to me. This conflict isn't over, but Maliki and the government are stronger for it, and Sadr and the Mehdi Army are weaker. It will flair up again. As long as Maliki is committed to overcoming the militias, and the US continues to support the government, Iraq will win.

Despite what news people keep telling us about disasters every day, lack of natural and man-made disasters is leading insurees to push for lower insurance premiums.

McCain delaying release of medical records. Why did he agree to release them at all? I don't think that's standard practice. Now it looks suspicious.

Ron Paul is campaigning in Pennsylvania.

Fatal accidents involving alcohol rise in locations that ban smoking in bars. Interesting.

Corn at $6 bushel. Isn't wheat much higher than that? Why not plant whatever makes you the most money?

Swedes find Viking era Arab coins. Cool.

The Bengals finally cut Chris Henry. It's about time. Marvin Lewis better man up and get that team under control. Their discipline problems are tearing them up.

Authorities seize anti-tank rocket launcher in gang raid in Florida.

Cato pulls no punches in this essay, saying NATO has become a geopolitical babysitting club and should be abolished. Wonderful description of this welfare program. I couldn't have said it better myself.

This provides new significance to the Air Force's Cyber Command. Hackers have damaged the ISS computers and threatened the astronauts. I worked in the defense industry, and it's crazy how they cling to old, test (even if by tested, they mean tested poorly) technology. This can't continue. This old technology is vulnerable.

I love the idea of vertical farms.

Hillary Clinton looks unusually human in these photographs.

6 cities that have shortened yellow lights to make more money.

The world according to Americans. This looks just like my globe.
