Free kibbles

UK OKs new nuclear power plants, once again showing that their government is more reasonable than ours. We should build nuclear and other cost effective power plants, and we should drill for our own oil in Alaska and the Gulf, to reduce our dependence on foreign oil.

Drivers license scanners are being used to build a database of when and where people drink. Businesses with these scanners should be avoided.

Indian company unveils $2,500 car. Sweet. No fuel economy numbers.

US goes on offensive against al Qaeda in Iraq again. I love it when we go on the offensive.

Iran airs partial tape of fast boat encounter with US Navy in Straits of Hormuz, leaving out the most threatening parts. Iran wants to build 19 nuclear reactors. You can't miss the irony. Because we won't build nuclear reactors, our money is filling Iran's coffers so they can build nuclear reactors with our money. How stupid are we?

Bush says Israel must surrender land occupied since 1967 for peace plan. Bush seems suddenly invested in Israel and Palestinian peace. It will never happen by dictates from the US. It will happen when either the Palestinians or the Israelis decide to put an end to the terrorists. It's going to be violent either way, but less violent if the Palestinians do it themselves.

Telecoms drop FBI wiretaps because of lack of payment. Our government makes the Keystone Cops look professional.

China to step into the market to curb inflation. That will lead to shortages.

The Pakistani democracy campaign.

Dan Rather versus CBS moves forward. That ought to be a train wreck.

The FairTax is far superior to simply liberalizing IRAs (but the FairTax is a great plan that is being dishonestly trashed).

Rudy Giuliani unveils a big-government tax plan that would reduce the corporate rate from 35% to 25% and the capital gains rate from 15% to 10%. The corporate rate will be comparable to Europe's corporate rate. These changes would significantly boost the US economy and make us more competitive. Since these changes are good for the country, why stop there? The FairTax would reduce the corporate and capital gains rate to 0%. That would blow Europe, China, and everybody else in the world out of the water. We don't have to settle for playing catch-up to the Europeans. We want to lead the world, not follow it. Adopt the FairTax.

Reason wonders how many times voters will allow Hillary to repackage herself.

Cato claims that the US has already failed in Iraq.

Drug reverses Alzheimer's symptoms.

It's so upsetting that illegal aliens must pay out of state tuition to attend Arizona colleges. Wait. Why aren't we deporting them instead? Somebody should tell Mr. Kohn that allowing illegal immigrants to attend US schools at all is contrary to cultivating the rule of law.

Double Einstein ring.

Sir Edmund Hillary
died at age 88.

Illegal immigration is an issue that unites the country. Candidates would be smart to embrace ending it. The newly enacted Arizona law is a good model.

Minority leader John Boehner has an opportunity to assign either an anti-earmark congressman or a pro-earmark congressman to the Appropriations Committee. I doubt the people can mount enough of an insurrection in this limited time to convince him to do the right thing.

Schools where parents have choice dominate the list of best schools in Arizona.

Ann Coulter's father died.

Putin's model for taking Russia back to authoritarianism is FDR. Mussolini and Hitler modeled their movements on FDR's fascism.
