Free kibbles

Overburdened California school photographs Mexican children illegally crossing the border to attend.

Gold on longest rally in history.

Bhutto supposedly had evidence that Musharraf was planning to rig the upcoming elections. There's so much smoke around this assassination that we'll never know the truth. Because of Bhutto's corruption, her death may help democracy in Pakistan more than her life.

Iraqi suicide bomber strikes funeral.

Hawaii government offering alcohol testing kits to parents to combat underage drinking. It's good to see Hawaii empower parents to combat this problem instead of usurping their role. I'm sure government can mess this up, but it has the most important aspect right, so far.

Gasifying garbage to produce energy. We're going to have to stop filling landfills someday anyway.

New Hampshire breaks record for Dec. snow. Funny how all the newspapers reported that 2007 was one of the warmest years on record before Dec. Talk about not caring about facts. The year has to end before we can determine how hot it was. I bet the global warming cultists knew that Dec. would be unusually cold, so they fed that info to the press before Dec. could be included in the result.

Even liberal CBS recognizes that there's no real difference between the Democrat candidates positions on the issues. They're all socialists on every issue.

Foxnews limiting candidates for debate before New Hampshire, rejecting Ron Paul although many project him to take 3rd place. I can understand wanting to limit the debate to candidates with double-digit national support, but Foxnews knows that Ron Paul is surging in New Hampshire. They should include him, or it looks like they're attempting to undermine his candidacy, which they probably are.

Because of Edwards' angry attacks on corporations, Nader supports him.

China's human rights violations and the plight of dissidents.

Thomas Sowell discusses the damage government does when it bails out those who practice risky behavior.

Montana's bizarre caucus system doesn't seem very democratic, but provides Ron Paul an opportunity. Rare, high praise for Paul from the conservative establishment.

We should stop talking about pork and earmarks and call them what they really are - payment for campaign contributions. It's a 2-way bribe. I'll give you an earmark for a campaign contribution. I'll give you a campaign contribution for an earmark. Both sides win. The country loses.
