Who ever wanted full, fair, open trials of Guantanamo detainees? The point of detaining them was to keep them from killing Americans, not to put them on trial. The ones we've kept in Guantanamo haven't killed anybody since we put them there. A large percentage of the ones we release go back to killing people. Keeping them in Guantanamo is the right thing to do.
The WSJ has more on Putin's handpicked successor Medvedev. Medvedev calls for Putin to become prime minister. The fix is in.
US supports France-Lybian civilian nuclear power deal. This is a much needed political coup right now, because it shows the Muslim world that we don't have a problem with Muslim nations, even old enemies, obtaining civilian nuclear power. This will put pressure on Iran to allow full access to its program.
UK to expand offshore wind power generation.
Reason explains that fast food restaurants take a bad rap for being fattening when plenty of food at other restaurants is worse.

New study shows that humans are evolving 100 times faster than ever do to fast changing environmental and social pressure.
How 1 gallon of gasoline, weighing about 6lbs, combines with oxygen to produce 19lbs of CO2. Slate claims electric cars are more fuel efficient than a typical, economical, gas car.
44% of Democrats said that Bill Clinton would make them more likely to vote for Hillary. I guess only 56% of Hillary's supporters are her own. Hillary campaign representative fishes for dirt on Obama. More interesting is how poorly this guy spells and types.
Christopher Hitchens says we should abolish the CIA because it destroyed interrogation tapes. That's not why. The CIA and all our bureaucracies have mutinied, and they should all be abolished. The CIA was created to deal with Cold War problems 60 years ago. Now it's just a dinosaur that doesn't respond to anybody but itself, and is ineffective for dealing with modern problems anyway. The same is true of every government bureaucracy, so all should be abolished and replaced with small, accountable, organizations designed within Constitutional limits to meet today's problems then fade away to be replaced by new organizations in the future to meet future problems.
Alarmist article talks about global warming in Antarctica. It doesn't mention that Antarctic ice is at record levels because that refutes the agenda.
The UN refuses access to skeptical scientists and reporters and tries to disrupt their meetings. Skeptic calls for the courage to "do nothing" because climate change is a non-problem. I like that guy.
Not only does Toyota make robots, but so does Honda.
I'm not surprised Led Zeppelin can still rock the house.
