Free kibbles

FREEDOM OF SPEECH:

Google and Verizon make supposed compromise on net neutrality. On the one hand, they demand that ISPs carry any net traffic a user wants. That takes away the property rights of the ISP and can only be enforced by a central authority. On the other hand, they say the internet should not be controlled by a central authority. This isn't a compromise. It's a non-sequitur.

WAR:

Taliban carry out most aggressive assault on Kabul since 2001. We've wasted eight years, hundreds of billions of dollars and over 1000 American lives in Afghanistan since we ousted al Qaeda.

POLITICS:

After six years, George Bush and Republicans turned a lot of borderline red states blue. After one year, Obama and Democrats have turned hard-core blue state Massachusetts borderline red based on this Senate race. This doesn't bode well for Democrats or America. Because Democrats have governed even worse than Republicans in their first year in power, the same Republicans who governed so badly before are going to end up back in power. Naturally, Obama makes this all about himself.
""If you were fired up in the last election, I need you more fired up in this election! I need you, I need you!" Obama told the crowd, estimated to be around 1,100."
Do if for Obama. He's more important than you or the country. Obama must hold the Guinness world record for narcissism.

MISC:

Using blocking sugar trade to Costa Rica to pressure it to adopt IP laws to our liking. The Founding Fathers made a mistake when they gave government the power to restrict trade. If somebody in the US and somebody in Costa Rica agree to trade sugar, the government should have no power to interfere.
