Government perversion of the credit market and especially Fan and Fred enabled them to use faulty accounting practices and get away with it knowing that aristocrats would use taxpayer money to bail them out if they got in trouble. What are faulting accounting practices? Addition and subtraction is second grade math. This sounds more like fraud and corruption, which is an inseparable aspect of government power.
I'm impressed that this article has the guts to point out we are not a free market economy at all, and that's the root of our economic problems.
Here's my letter to my representatives and McCain and Obama:
During George Bush's tenure, Republicans and Democrats together have nearly doubled the size of government. Republicans pay lip service to limited government while doubling it, and Democrats complain that no amount of government spending is ever enough. The self-serving aristocrats of both parties are transforming the United States into the Soviet Union at breakneck speed.
Government perversion of the market created this credit crunch. Government forced lenders to make subprime loans, poisoning the financial markets with bad loans. The Fed irresponsibly flooded the economy with cheap money to artificially inflate the economy, sparking the house flipping craze. Our income tax punishes achievement, savings, and investment while rewarding debt, so companies maximize debt and minimize assets. This government perversion or our markets is helping transform the US into the Soviet Union.
Now government has taken another huge step in the conversion of the United States into the Soviet Union by seizing control of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Fan and Fred were the companies most perverted by government interference in a market already perverted by government interference. Instead of addressing the root problem, government perversion of our economy, and extracting government from Fan, Fred, the credit market, and the entire economy, government aristocrats are grabbing more for power themselves to the detriment of all the people by taking over Fan and Fred.
We want our country back from you aristocrats. The burden of government is crushing Americans. We recognize that central planning and Soviet style government control leads to Soviet style totalitarianism and collapse. Free competition, unfettered by government interference, is the best planner and regulator of markets possible, period. People and companies must be free to fail as well as succeed. We want you to extract government from our lives. We want government spending cut in half. We want regulations, mandates, and subsidies abolished. We want the income and payroll taxes abolished in favor of the FairTax.
Quit destroying our country for your personal benefit.
"Government isn't the solution to our problems, government is our problem."
Now the big three automakers want a Federal bailout. I want a Federal bailout too.
