Free kibbles

Continuing our destructive race towards socialism and poverty, the Bush administration plans to take control of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. The problems with Fan and Fred all stem from government interference - sweetheart deals that Congress gives to the 2 companies so they don't have to compete fairly with other companies. The solution is for government to extract itself from these companies and our entire economy so the market can correct itself. But government will never give up power voluntarily. The nature of government is that it seizes more power including seizing these companies.

Pakistan parliament selects Bhutto's corrupt widower as President. The US isn't the only country being hurt by its government aristocrats. Right on cue, suicide bomber kills 30. The US undermining of Musharraf has led to a crisis in leadership in Pakistan that threatens the US.

US proposes to trade nuclear energy technology with India. I hope Congress approves.

Robert Novak describes his ongoing battle with brain cancer.

Good advice for Obama: ignore Sarah Palin and attack McCain.

Author explains how Russia is playing the US for fools on its Iran policy. Russia supports meaningless, symbolic sanctions because that fools western liberals into thinking progress is being made. Russia and Iran support those sanctions because they effectively paralyze the west.

Author claims Palin was a hypocrite because she chose to have a down syndrome baby but she would take that choice away from others. That's quite a fantastic, politically motivated, spin. Sarah Palin is consistent in her position against abortion. Trying to spin that into hypocrisy for political gain is dishonest and disgusting.

Kimberly Strassel explains how Sarah Palin took on what she calls crony capitalism, but what other's call corporatism which is a form of socialism, not a free market, and won in Alaska. There was no more powerful corporate influence in Alaska than that sold to Big Oil by Alaskan Republicans. And Sarah Palin beat them. I don't care for the collectivist idea that oil wealth belongs to all the citizens - oil in the ground has no value. The wealth belongs to those who risk their investment to extract that oil from the ground and turn it into a marketable product. But if you hate big corporate influence in government and want to see it stopped, you have to love Sarah Palin.

Steve Forbes explains a stronger dollar would help us counter enemies. You can't separate foreign policy and domestic policy. A strong economy, a strong dollar, and strong domestic production of energy are the tools that will win this new Cold War of Terror. Adopt the FairTax. Cut the size and scope of government in half. Adopt a free energy market. There's nothing complicated about this.

Cold weather kills off bugs, reducing plant reproduction. Cold weather is bad. Warm weather is good. British gardeners hire guards to protect their gardens from looters. Just wait until the cold climate change starts hurting crops, driving up food prices further, and causing shortages.

Obsessive compulsive disorder strikes health food fanatics too.

'80s voted coolest decade in past 50 years. And they said Reagan, Thatcher and the Pope were bad for culture. Freedom is always good for culture, and the conservatism of the '80s limited government a little bit, promoting freedom.

This story is wrong on so many levels. Boy calls 911 on mom after mom tells him to blow into the breathalyser lock on her car because she had been up all night drinking but planned to drive him to school anyway. Then the cops don't show up for 25 minutes, to the mom drives the boy to school anyway.

The NYTimes explains that community organizers, the largest in the country is ACORN, the corrupt, leftist organization which has been busted for numerous offenses, is really just a political group. Obama's experience as a community organizer was for ACORN. Obama trained ACORN people. McCain and Palin should attack Obama for working for and training such a corrupt, discredited organization. Force Obama to defend working with Ayers. Force Obama to defend his real estate deal with Rezko. Force Obama to defend attending Wright's radical church. Force Obama to explain the hard-core socialism he taught at Chicago. Why is this so hard to figure out? Why do they let Obama pretend to be something other than a dangerous extremist? McCain must have plenty to hide too, because there's no other possible reason why he would allow Obama to so dangerously misrepresent himself.

This description of swarm theory is also a description of free markets. The author shows that the principle underlying free markets, the intelligence of swarms, has evolved separately in every species on the planet that forms large social groups, but he never grasps that that's true for humans also. He wants to centrally plan a way to apply that knowledge instead of embracing the human version - free markets. Funny. If liberals embrace evolution and nature, and nature has rejected central planning for large groups. Why don't liberals embrace the group intelligence and management system that evolved with us - free markets?

If these people really were intending to kidnap delegates to the RNC, that is terrorism. It's up to a jury to determine if the testimony of the informants is sufficient to convict them. This liberal outrage that these people are charged with terrorism is indicative of a serious problem with liberals. Welcoming unrepentant terrorist Bill Ayers into liberal society is another indication of the problem. Desire to elect Barack Obama despite his ties to Bill Ayers is another indication of the problem. Anybody who votes for Barack Obama is saying that unrepentant terrorists are welcome in liberal society. Liberals think terrorism is justified as long as the terrorists are liberals. That's insane.

If the investigation into Palin's firing of the safety director wasn't politicized before, it is now.

Nice blog post cataloguing all the examples of the press' Palin derangement syndrome.

California movement to legalize marijuana by Constitutional amendment. I don't agree with California politics on much, because they usually are enemies of freedom, but I'm all for this attempt to increase freedom.

This website says Sarah Palin isn't Hillary Clinton (thank goodness!), and compares their resumes, trying to make it appear Hillary's is stronger. But under political experience they list first lady of the US and first lady of Arkasas. I bet they did it with a straight face too.

Amazing pictures of the first 3 milliseconds of an atomic bomb blast.

I think it's funny that Obama says, "You can't just make stuff up." That's what he's been doing since he started running.
