Arrogance and greed at government sponsored enterprises (GSEs -that's code for fascist companies) Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac? A confused mission? Who would have guessed. Continuing the path to totalitarianism, those fascist companies became socialist companies. We're going in the wrong direction.
TAX AND SPEND:
Jonah Goldberg points out what I keep saying, but nobody else does: we can't become Europe because there's no US to prop us up. The reason Europe has been able to support its gigantic welfare states is the US propped it up. Health care is the most obvious example, but it's true in every sector, not to mention that NATO is the biggest welfare program in history. Nobody can prop us up. Europe would have collapsed long ago without the US economy lifting it up. The Chinese aren't big enough to lift us up.
"Look at it this way. My seven-year-old daughter has a great lifestyle. She has all of her clothes and food bought for her. She goes on great vacations. She has plenty of leisure time. A day doesn’t go by where I don’t look at her and feel envious of how good she’s got it compared to me. But here’s the problem: If I decide to live like her, who’s going to take my place?"That's a great analogy.
"When was the last time you used a Portuguese electronic device? How often does Europe come out with a breakthrough drug? Not often, and when they do, it’s usually because companies like Novartis and GlaxoSmithKline increasingly conduct their research here. Indeed, the top five U.S. hospitals conduct more clinical trials than all the hospitals in any other single country combined. We nearly monopolize the Nobel Prize in medicine, and we create stuff at a rate Europe hasn’t seen since da Vinci was in his workshop."That's why I keep saying Obamacare will drag us into a health care dark ages.
Arguing that representation without taxation is a bad thing is absurd. We should all live tax free. The problem is some of us are taxed while others are not, but that doesn't mean we should tax the others. It means we should end taxation on everybody.
Obama signs yet another stimulus boondoggle. Because government is funded by taking money from people by force, it never learns from its mistakes. I'm losing count of how many stimulus boondoggles this is - there was Bush's in 2007, then Obama's $800 billion one, and I don't know if this is his second or third since - but none of them have worked because they can't work. They've made us all poorer by sucking resources from productive, private sector activities and transferring them to unproductive activities that only exist because government funds them by theft. You can be sure that this won't be the last stimulus boondoggle either.
FEDERAL RESERVE:
Runaway inflation in Zimbabwe.
New book outs Greenspan as the tool of bankers and politicians whom he enriched at our expense, leaving us the tattered economy we have today.
HEALTH CARE:
To drive home my point about a new dark age in health care, the socialized medicine system in Britain allows Muslims to opt out of some hygiene procedures intended to stop the spread of super-bugs. The consequences of this are obvious and deadly. Western civilization is committing suicide.
Imagine if the federal government decided that barbecue was a fundamental right... That's depressing. I love barbecue.
WAR ON DRUGS:
Mexico's drug war continues to evolve with the drug dealers getting more powerful and violent all the time.
"The Zetas began as hitmen for the Gulf cartel in the 1990s but recently pushed for their own share of the drugs trade.
Believed to have emerged from among Mexican army deserters, they are notorious for their readiness to behead victims. Their criminal activities are believed to include drug-trafficking, extortion, migrant-smuggling and kidnapping.
Nearly 18,000 people have been killed in drugs-related violence in Mexico since 2006."American Puritans prefer to see Mexicans beheaded and slaughtered to make them feel good about themselves for making it illegal (but not stopping) for Americans to get high. I think these Puritans should volunteer themselves and their families to be the next victims of the drug cartels. I don't think they'd be so quick to empower the cartels if they had to suffer the consequences themselves. Policies have consequences, and these consequences are well understood. Anybody who supports the war on drugs shares responsibility for these murders.
WAR:
Security problems with the US nuclear arsenal. It's secured by a government monopoly, that means it's ridiculously overprices and low quality.
US troops kill four civilians and wound 18 more on school bus. This is why this war is impossible to win even if it made sense to fight and win it, which it doesn't. Let the Afghans determine their own futures.
POLITICS:
It will be interesting to see if Obama's approval numbers ever drop below 47 percent since 47 percent of Americans don't pay income tax.
Boortz is dead on with these comments - since Obama is trying to destroy business in America, why shouldn't businesses fire Obama supporters? Why give a job to a person who is waging war on your business? Did I mention that government is inherently divisive? But this doesn't just apply to Obama supporters. Bush and Republicans waged war against business too. Remember TARP? Remember Alan Greenspan? Remember the most regulations by any president since Nixon? Fire everybody but the libertarians.
Leftists have organized a movement to infiltrate and undermine the tea parties. They'll be easy to spot. They'll be the ones shouting racist comments, carrying racist signs, spurring people on to violence. The tea partiers threaten the looters' livehood, and they'll fight as dirty as they need to, including being violent like the leftist protesters often are, to win.
$100,000 reward for proof that somebody called that congressman the n-word at the anti-Obamacare tea party on March 20th. I'm sure some will fake it to try and win the money, but we know it never happened because we've seen several tapes from the supposed incident and none have it recorded.
I don't think third parties should let Harry Reid remain in office. Tea partiers should focus on defeating incumbents, not enabling them to remain in office.
Ron Paul is wrong about Obama being a corporatist. That's just the means to achieve his ultimate goal, transforming America into a Marxist country.
Obama did not get a popularity bump for passing Obamacare. Duh. Another reminder that these so-called experts aren't what we think of when we use the word expert. These are political hacks working to advance their own causes and blinded by ideology, not well-informed, dispassionate observers.
MEDIA:
The Washington Post wins four Pulitzers, the New York Times wins three, and both papers lose another 15 percent of their subscribers. This is like Soviets rewarding Gorbachev for excellence while the Soviet Union collapsed around their ears, or as Rockwell puts it:
"It’s a back-slapping exhibit in a zombie museum."Pretty funny.
