Free kibbles

LIBERTY:

Federal appeals court overrules FCC's decision to steal from Comcast at the point of a gun because it throttled down P2P traffic. Usually the government doesn't recognizes the limits to its powers, but in this case, it did.

SOCIALISM:

Cato discovers that the states with the highest debt problems are also the states with the most unionized government employees. Who would have thought?

Government to steal from Toyota at the point of a gun, but I'm sure it has nothing to do with owning a rival car company - GM.

RIGHT TO KEEP AND BEAR ARMS:

Students strap on empty holsters to protest for their natural right to keep and bear arms. While I like this idea in theory, I'm afraid it will backfire.

ECONOMY:

This is an interesting fact:
"Between 1980 and 2005, virtually all net new jobs created in the U.S. were created by firms that were 5 years old or less ... That is about 40 million jobs. That means the established firms created no new net jobs during that period."
Yet the government is stealing from small business owners to save big business.

The silver boom is coming.

People are counterfeiting gold.

TAX AND SPEND:

I hope that our debt problem will put an end to Obama's agenda, but I don't believe it. By passing Obamacare, these Democrats put a political noose around their necks and stepped onto the platform. They have nothing to lose.
"Here's something more troubling. Is this by design? I know that many of you aren't on board with me here; but considering Obama's radical background .. and especially considering his odd affection for things Marxist during his formative years .. I am of the opinion that Obama may well be working to destroy our economy so that he can be the man to build a new economy - a centrally planned economy - an economy of the government sector instead of the private sector - on the rubble of the capitalistic economy he's destroying. Question: How long do you think it might be before Obama's pay czar holds sway over your particular industry? And another question - perhaps this has already occurred to you - if Obama can assign limits to salaries, who not limits to profit? After all, any good ObamaZombie is going to tell you that profits are of the devil.
Have you read about the Cloward-Piven strategy lately?"
This is exactly right. Just like Lenin used to say, the worse, the better for Obama.

"Switzerland manages to run a smaller government as a share of gross domestic product than the United States and most other countries while providing a higher level of service, security, prosperity and freedom. How does it do that?" This question answers itself - by being smaller.

Will US government debt lead to a dictatorship? That's what President Obama is hoping for. He thinks the country would be so much better if he was all powerful.
"The big news now is that Social Security may "go broke" this year instead of in 2017, which was originally projected. Really? And here I thought it’s been broke for decades. Ditto with Medicare. These programs were long ago Madoffized. Almost from the start, government has simply taken in new money from "investors" (read, taxpayers) and handed it over to those on the entitlements side of the fence – with a large chunk of the largesse being skimmed off the top for government employees who administer these programs (and vote for those whom they believe are most likely to safeguard their jobs).

All it took to bring things to a head was a shameful spending spree by a progressive Republican president and a Republican Congress, followed by the ascent of a committed Marxist to the presidency (along with a cooperative majority in Congress).

Now, throw on top of all that a huge new tax-and-spending bill (euphemistically referred to as "health-care legislation"), and the end result seems assured. However, with the government’s power to tax, print, and borrow, no one knows how long it will be before the inevitable runaway inflation sets in."
I fear the Weimar Republic model, but this guy fears Obama will stage an incident to grab power sooner.
"Beck believes that Obama will continue to keep the accelerator pressed to the floor – amnesty for illegal immigrants, a cap-and-trade bill that will eliminate the U.S. as a global business competitor, and more – thus enraging an already angry public to the point of revolution.
...
As Beck puts it, just continue to poke people in the eye, then use their predictable and justifiable backlash as an excuse to establish dictatorial powers."
Beck must be reading my blog. I hope he read the part about stopping the emotional manipulation of his audience. I continue to compare Obama with Lenin, the moto for both is "the worse, the better", but he has the power of the presidency to help him destroy America. I wanted to compare Obama to Lenin in the paper's forum, but they haven't given me a suitable subject yet.
"I thought about this issue while attending the recent tea party outside the Capitol Building in Washington. As I crossed Independence Avenue, I noted a somber-looking guard holding a Rambo-style weapon in his hands. I have no idea what it was, but there’s no question in my mind that just one pull of the trigger could have rearranged the body parts of a large number of tea-party people.
The totally peaceful gathering – repeat, totally peaceful – was infested with heavily armed police, but one, in particular, was especially ominous. As the tea partiers chanted ”Kill the Bill” on the east side of the Capitol Building, a uniformed, lone figure stood at the top of the steep flight of stairs on the House side of the structure, automatic weapon at the ready, gazing down over the crowd. Sun glasses and all, he reminded me of the ”boss man” of Cool Hand Luke’s chain gang."
That's exactly what he looked like.

REGULATION:

Obamacare shows that government uses regulations to transfer wealth more stealthily than taxing and spending. As Ayn Rand pointed out, every government intervention in the marketplace gives somebody an unearned benefit at the expense of everybody else. Includes a subtle comparison of Obama to Lenin.
"The Dodd bill is an open invitation for government to micromanage the whole breadth of finance in America, including even your local pawnshop. Nationalizing the U.S. financial system without formally nationalizing it--Karl Marx would be drooling in delight."
Maybe Forbes has never heard the word 'fascism', or he's just afraid to say it.

EDUCATION:

Obama's seizure of student loans will drive up the cost of education faster than ever. This stuff isn't hard to understand, and you can bet Obama and every Democrat understands it. They're doing it on purpose.

HEALTH CARE:

On the history of compulsory medicine:
"It was no mere accident that the ideological forefathers of Nazism, Adolf Wagner and Eugen Dühring, happened to be the "brain trusters" behind Bismarck's "nationalistic socialism to end international socialism," using his own terms. When, on January 1, 1884, his compulsory sickness scheme went into operation it literally started a new era — a new age in the history of welfarism."
OK. That's scary.

WAR:

Isn't this description the truth?
"Washington has lost yet another round to its Islamic enemies. Gaming America is so easy. The pattern is that Islam’s fascists do something cheap but gaudy, whereupon in response our federal fascists do something comic, hysterical, ineffective, expensive and, usually, unconstitutional."
This idea that parking heavily armed guards at transportation facilities will intimidate terrorists is laughable. This is meant to make the powers that be feel powerful and an claim that they "did something" and give some fools a false sense of security. The best security is unseen.
"From a few years back, after London’s subway got blown up: “(AP) Over the next three years, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority [of New York] will add 1,000 surveillance cameras and 3,000 motion sensors to its sprawling network of subways and commuter rail facilities as part of a $212 million security upgrade announced Tuesday with Lockheed Martin Corp.”
And then, this year: “Half of Subway Cameras Not Working.”"
I'm surprised half work.
"If Washington really wanted to end terrorism, it would stop bombing Moslems, who would then get bored and stop bombing us. What a concept. You saw it here first. But there’s no money in it."
I saw it elsewhere long ago before I figured it out.

FOREIGN POLICY:

Russia to help Venezuela set up space program. Yeah, that's just what Venezuela needs. It would be more accurate to call it a missile program.

POLITICS:

Obama delaying release of annual report on Social Security and Medicare because government is self-serving.

Young people moving away from Democrats. That's a good thing, but where are they moving to?

55 percent of Americans say that politicians cannot remain honest. I've often explained why they can't. But that doesn't stop voters for voting for the same lying politicians from the same lying two parties every election to solve their problems.

Self-proclaimed huge White Sox fan Barack Obama can't name any White Sox players. These politicians are so abnormal, they lie about everything including stupid stuff. It's more natural to them to lie than to tell the truth. If you asked them about the weather, and they thought you wouldn't check it right away, they'd lie about it.

Council on American-Islamic Relations gets only 1 percent of its funding from American Muslims. It sounds like a foreign lobbying group.

More Democrats joining tea parties. Let's hope any of these who voted for Obama have learned their lesson and never vote again.

Why we shouldn't trust Republicans:
"One cannot understand modern political behavior without grasping a basic truth of which your high-school civics class teacher did not inform you: we have a one-party system consisting of two interconnected franchises, each under the complete control of the political establishment. If you would like to put Janus-like faces to this arrangement, think of that frequent media guest, David Gergen, a man who served as a bipartisan presidential advisor to Nixon, Ford, Reagan, and Clinton. Or look upon the married couple, Mary Matalin and James Carville: she a valued GOP advisor to George W. Bush and Dick Cheney; he a Democratic advisor to Bill and Hillary Clinton."
David Gergen of course is a member of the mainstream media, further showing that the accomplice press is nothing by the propaganda arm of the government. But these guys should at least point out that Republicans are less worse than Democrats. All you have to do is compare Texas to California. Look at what state governments are going bankrupt. This purely objective analysis proves that as terrible as Republicans are, Democrats are invariably worse. And that's because Republicans' entire agenda consists of being almost identical to Democrats, but slightly less bad. Republicans love the income tax, just at a slightly lower rate. They love just slightly less government spending. They love just slightly less government domination of the marketplace. Etc., etc., etc.
"(During the George W. Bush administration, we were told that criticism of "neocons" was really a cover for anti-Semitism.) Now we are told that men and women who disapprove of the increased collectivization of the economy; or of the crony-capitalism that shovels hundreds of billions of dollars into corporate coffers; or of the state’s increased control over their daily lives; or of government policies that enhance the economic collapse of America; are doing nothing more than indulging in racist bigotries!"
I never heard anybody criticizing neocons called an anti-semite. I'm sure it probably happened once or twice, but there's no comparison between the scale of that and the attacks on small-government supporters as racists. Remember, we just finished the first year of the Obama administration, and the slander and attacks on critics is already worse than the worst of the Bush administration.
"When Randolph Bourne observed that "war is the health of the state," he was getting to its violent essence, a truth easily confirmed by the 200,000,000 deaths inflicted upon humanity through government wars and genocides during the 20thcentury. Are we really to believe that those who oppose such practices, and favor free and peaceful social systems, are advocates of violence?"
Like Bill Ayers? Absolutely. That's where the projection comes from. The far left, which always claims it's against war (except for those good, leftist wars like Bosnia and Somalia) is the most violent political movement in the western world. What else would you expect from sympathizers of the communists who killed the vast majority of those 200,000,000 mentioned above? But small government supporters are rarely violent.

MISC:

If you can't tell that NBA officiating is rigged in favor of stars, big market teams and home teams, then you aren't paying attention. Because it's institutionally rigged like this, individual referees get away with picking on and protecting certain players and teams. But it's funny to see Phil Jackson complain since the Lakers are the biggest recipients of bad calls in the league, and Michael Jordan was when Phil coached him, especially against the Spurs who consistently get the short end of the stick.

Ham radio users growing. That's good news.
