Free kibbles

HEALTH CARE:

Woman asks Obama about the new taxes on her company because of Obamacare, saying Americans are overtaxed already, and Obama melts down into incoherent nonsense because he can't answer her question. But how much is overtaxed? Who decides? Why is one opinion more valid than another? I think any taxes are too much, and my opinion is as valid as anybody else's opinion. It doesn't matter if every other
American thinks I should be taxed. We supposedly live a constitutional republic, not a democracy, and property rights are fundamental rights.

POLITICS:

Whenever I see political ads, they always talk about leadership. I don't want any leaders in political office. Leaders lead people where they want to go. I want people in office who will follow the Constitution. Leaders are supposed to be in the private sector, working in a system of voluntary exchange, not taking money and power from people by force to engineer society in their image.

National Review is scared of Rand Paul because he's not a big-government Republican. I don't know why this guy's surprised that Rand isn't named after Ayn Rand. Naming a son after a woman's last name would be weird and cultish, and Ron Paul is no Randian. It never crossed my mind that he might be named after Ayn Rand.

Of course the tea partiers are much milder than the bomb throwing left. The right is always less outrageous and violent than the left.

WAR:

After cover-up NATO admits to killing women in raid. Government doesn't keep secrets to protect the American people. It keeps secrets to protect government. The video on the linked page shows an Apache helicopter killing a dozen or so Iraqis milling around. Don't watch if you're squeamish or in denial about the nature of these wars. The Americans thought they had spotted one of the men carrying an RPG.  We've put our soldiers in an impossible situation, and we're making enemies faster than we can overcome them, killing civilians all the while. Let's end these wars.

MISC:

Magnitude 7.2 earthquake near the Mexican-US border kills two. Contrast that with Haiti and Chile. Three data points all showing that economic freedom leads to tremendous wealth which creates much safer environments. But our government is systematically destroying economic freedom in America, dragging us down toward Chile and eventually Haiti. Yet we continue to vote for the same two parties who are responsible.

If you don't believe me when I keep saying that government is usurping the role of religion and the president is the new savior, how come the pastor at the church where Obama went for Easter called him "the most intelligent, most anointed, most charismatic president"? Most intelligent and most charismatic are bad enough, but anointed tells the tale.
