Free kibbles

LIBERTY:

Democrat Senator Schumer and Republican Senator Grahm are teaming up to require Americans to show a national ID card to get a job. Our spiffy new papers will be way cooler than Nazi Germany's papers because they'll have biometric data like our fingerprints on the electronic chip in them. We can celebrate being better limiting the freedom of Americans than the Nazis were. Yay!

SOCIALISM:

Conveniently hard to believe story about Toyota accelerator sticking and heroic cop saving citizens. This story really does sound like a crock. Foxnews just reported that the cop car drove along side the Prius and told the driver to press the brake to the floor and apply the emergency brake at the same time. Why did he have to pull alongside? Did this guy really not know to press the brake to the floor? This story gets more unbelievable every time I hear it.

ECONOMY:

Venture capital industry suffering. I thought so.

We often hear about the socialist Scandinavian countries, but in fact they have economic freedom almost as high as ours. Since they learned the lesson of the Cold War and increased economic freedom while we failed to learn that lesson and are decreasing it, they'll soon be more economically free than us.

TAX AND SPEND:

Obama's stimulus stimulating Marxist revolution. We know that it was intended to do that indirectly, but it's also doing it directly.
"A Marxist group that has demanded the "destruction" of the U.S. and issued a call "to bring this Government down," is the recipient of Stimulus funds from the Obama American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.  This same group, The Brecht Forum, has also called for the complete takeover of insurance companies and farms in America."
We know Obama wants to destroy America in a Marxist revolution, but even I didn't think he'd be that blatant.

Tennessee is trying to tax hotels for free breakfasts.

Obama wants to raise our taxes by taxing banks.

Despite striking similarities between Texas and California - relatively small government has made Texas the envy of the country while big government has turned California into a disaster.
"But Texas seems to be delivering superior services. Its teachers are paid less than California's. But its test scores -- and with a demographically similar school population -- are higher. California's once fabled freeways are crumbling and crowded. Texas has built gleaming new highways in metro Houston and Dallas-Fort Worth.
In the meantime, Texas' economy has been booming. Unemployment rates have been below the national average for more than a decade, as companies small and large generate new jobs."
It's just that easy.

Obama wants to pay defaulting homeowners to leave instead of go through foreclosure. It's always taking money from us by force and giving to others. That's it. That's all he can think of. He's worse than a broken record.

The risk from countries around the world defaulting on their debt.
"So far, the US government's ability to raise debt has been helped along by the bad news coming out of Europe. As financial historian Niall Ferguson explains: "The worse things get in the Euro-zone, the more the US dollar rallies as nervous investors park their cash in the 'safe haven' of American government debt." The same thing happened during the Great Panic in the fall of 2008, as investors rushed into dollars, i.e., US government securities, since they are usually looked upon as a "safe haven" when things get even worse in other developed countries."
This can't last.
"Last month, the US treasury department announced that "foreign demand for US Treasury securities fell by a record amount in December as China purged some of its holdings of government debt." Furthermore, this "shift in demand comes as countries retreat from the 'flight to safety' strategy they embarked on upon during the worst of the global economic crisis and could mean the US will have to pay more to service its debt interest.""
And it won't.

REGULATION:

Southwest airlines decides to cancel delayed flights instead of risk draconian government fines over delays caused by out-of-date government air traffic control systems.

FEDERAL RESERVE:

How inflationary monetary policy combined with the dollar being the world's reserve currency led to our trade deficit and massive importing of consumer goods instead of investment.

HEALTH CARE:

Boortz finally points out that Obamacare is designed to fail so Democrats can usher in full-blown socialized medicine.
"Actually ... this isn't reform at all. What they're really doing is planting the seeds of destruction into the private healthcare and health insurance market. The object here is not to reform, it is to destroy."
If this thing gets passed, Democrat mouthpieces will, feigning innocence, wonder how it failed so badly. After that setup, Democrats will respond by blaming the "free market". Then they'll make their push for socialized medicine.

I think it's funny that Obama and Pelosi are now telling Democrats that they've screwed up so badly, that Democrats are going to get creamed if they pass Obamacare or not so they might as well pass it. I'm sure they chose different words, but Democrats would be stupid to believe either of them after they've killed the careers of anywhere from 50 to 100 of them.

GLOBAL WARMING:

I keep saying never count out the aristocrats' lust for power. Sure the climate fraud is falling apart. Anybody with more than half a brain knows it's a fraud. But the aristocrats get their funding from us at the point of a gun, and they continue to use our money to promote this fraud. Now China and India have signed onto the dangerous Copenhagen agreement with over 100 other nations.
"The accord plans $100 billion (66.7 billion pounds) a year in climate aid for developing nations from 2020 and seeks to limit global warming to below 2 degrees Celsius (3.6F) above pre-industrial times, but produced no timetable of emission limits to reach that goal."
Guess who gets to pay that $100 billion a year? Russia is the only major greenhouse gas producer which hasn't signed on. Go Russia!

POLICE STATE:

Pennsylvania state troopers confiscate beer.
"IT WAS ELIOT NESS and the Untouchables, as played by the Keystone Kops.

More than a dozen armed State Police officers conducted simultaneous raids last week on three popular Philadelphia bars known for their wide beer selections. The cops confiscated hundreds of bottles of expensive ales and lagers, now in State Police custody at an undisclosed location.

The alleged offense: Although the bar owners had bought the beer legally from licensed Pennsylvania distributors and had paid all the necessary taxes, the police claimed that nobody had registered the precise names of the beers with the state Liquor Control Board – a process that requires the brewers or their importers to pay a $75 registration fee for each product they want to sell in Pennsylvania."
That's a quote from the mainstream media. Guns don't kill people. Unregistered beer kills people. I'm sure the people of Pennsylvania feel saver today, except for those who want a beer and are afraid they'll end up staring down the wrong end of a cop's gun barrel. Have I mentioned that the real job of cops is to be uniformed tax collectors? I think I have.

Police department declares breast milk to be a bio-hazard.

WAR:

Our prosecution of this Afghan war just gets worse and worse. Now it turns out that the government was lying to us about the significance of Marjah.
"For weeks, the U.S. public followed the biggest offensive of the Afghanistan War against what it was told was a "city of 80,000 people" as well as the logistical hub of the Taliban in that part of Helmand. That idea was a central element in the overall impression built up in February that Marjah was a major strategic objective, more important than other district centers in Helmand.
It turns out, however, that the picture of Marjah presented by military officials and obediently reported by major news media is one of the clearest and most dramatic pieces of misinformation of the entire war, apparently aimed at hyping the offensive as a historic turning point in the conflict.

Marjah is not a city or even a real town, but either a few clusters of farmers’ homes or a large agricultural area covering much of the southern Helmand River Valley.
"It’s not urban at all," an official of the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF), who asked not to be identified, admitted to IPS Sunday. He called Marjah a "rural community.""
So what was the big deal about Marjah?
""It’s a collection of village farms, with typical family compounds," said the official, adding that the homes are reasonably prosperous by Afghan standards."
So it was chosen because it was prosperous. Nice.

POLITICS:

Obama wants to change the way poverty is calculated to make it look like more Americans are in poverty. All government statistics are bogus because they're designed to advance political agendas.

ACORN workers charged with voter fraud. I'm shocked at how many ACORN workers haven't been charged with voter fraud.

LOCAL:

The Dayton economy is in the tank, unemployment is officially near 15 percent, but union workers can afford not to show up to work as they strike instead.
"Union members objected to proposed changes in seniority procedures, work rules and benefits, officials of Local 225 of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers said."
I hope they all lose their jobs.

MISC:

For the first time, companies will spend more on digital advertising than on print advertising.
