Gen. Petraeus gives his report on the surge in Iraq today. Transcript of written statement.

Democrats attempt to undermine Gen. Petraeus before his report. MoveOn.org attacks Gen. Petraeus and undermines Democrats. More.

Poll says Iraqis think surge has failed. Those must have been wildly misleading poll questions, because that's bologna.

Why are we only now trying to stem the flow of weapons from Iran to Iraq? Why only now build a base? Why only now put up X-ray machines? We've known from the moment we invaded we needed to secure the Iraq's borders with Iran and Syria, and we're just now starting to get serious about it? That's a crock.

It looks like bin Laden is releasing another video. The first seemed confused and directed at Americans, so I bet the second will be directed at Arab Muslims and will be more like his previous videos.

Pakistan immediately deports returning ex-Prime Minister to Saudi Arabia.

Lebanon terrorist leader escaped refugee camp.

LA to limit fast food restaurants. Policy makers are afraid that America is becoming too obese, and health care costs are rising because of it. Of course they are! When people don't have to take care of their own health care, they have no reason to stay healthy. The natural solution to this problem is right in front of our nose - let people pay for their own health care and medical care. When people pay for their own poor health, they'll get healthier real fast.

The flip-side of this is is that when the public is paying for the health care of others, the public, and their representatives, think they can tell people how to live. This is an assault on freedom. The answer to the whole health care debate is very simple. Get the government completely out of the health care business. People buying their own health care and medical treatment will drive down costs and become a lot healthier.

McDonald's employee arrested for spilling salt on a burger. How come the cop didn't just return the burger after the first bite. Or throw it away?

Give me a break. Apparently these people aren't responsible for their own decision to open a brothel. It's the sub-prime housing market that's responsible.

While I agree with the general idea of holding parents responsible for the actions of their kids, jailing parents for their children's truancy is going too far. This is just compounding government abuse of power by forcing kids to attend government schools. If parents had school choice, instead of being forced to send kids to government schools, truancy would be a much smaller problem.

Story of a wounded soldier. This is the face of socialized medicine in the United States. If Democrats get their way, we'll all be a number and face these bureaucratic beatdowns.

UK proposes banning plasma TVs because of energy requirements.

Al Gore looks like he's eating a cow by himself every day. He probably outputs as much methane as a cow.

Russia has declared Family Contact Day (Conception Day) a holiday in an attempt to raise self-destructive birth rates.

This test supposedly shows that liberals are smarter. There's no way to draw that conclusion from the data. What I think it shows is that liberals are more emotional and confused (which also takes brain activity). Like Hamlet and the literary critics who think it a great play, liberals are just terrible at making decisions because they're always conflicted in their emotions.

Democrats' Spanish language debate will turn off the majority of voters, just like their GLBT debate. Republicans are going to make hay with these 2 mistakes.

FBI investigates illegal Democratic fundraiser Hsu. I hope they follow this all the way to China instead of just whitewashing it as usually happens with Clinton corruption investigations.

Why won't Hillary release Hsu's bundled donor names? Because she doesn't want to show she knew the fraud was a Chinese agent like the others or give up the money. Duh.

No sane person thinks the twin towers were destroyed by sabotage.
