Free kibbles

Chinese army hacks into Sec. of Defense Gates' Pentagon computer. China denies. As if they would acknowledge it. More.

Bush sets stage for troop draw down in Iraq. Right on his schedule. If Democrats manage to force reductions sooner, which I don't think they can, Bush will have make sure they own any negative consequences.

We already know the Iraqi government hasn't capitalized on the military success of the surge, but we're still killing American enemies, and we should continue.

Bremer and Bush argue over who has responsibility for dismantling Saddam's army immediately after we defeated it. It seems obvious it was Bremer's idea, and Bush nodded his head.

Florida sheriff resigns, pleads guilty to corruption. It's everywhere.

Released criminal sues police to get his confiscated porn collection back.

British consider dropping socialized medicine coverage for those with unhealthy lifestyles.

Al Gore makes me puke. As the Czech president so accurately put it, socialist policies championed by Gore and his church of man-made global warming are more dangerous to freedom than communism. Gore knows it, and he's lying through his teeth about the state of the science of global warming. This is a quote from the most dangerous, accomplished liar in my adult life:
“Modern politics seems to require and reward some capacities that I don’t think I have in abundance … such as a tolerance for … spin rather than an honest discussion of substance. Apparently, it comes easily for some people, but not for me,” Gore says.
I can only hope that when more people realize the facts, Al Gore will become the pariah he so richly deserves.

Boy does this article misunderstand power usage. We may enough excess energy at night to charge electric cars, but it will create more green house gases to charge them than not.

Democrats embrace big-time socialism.

Oprah fundraiser for Obama. Edwards to force people to go to the doctor.

Military historian says Bush's appearance in Anbar could be the Gettysburg of the War on Terror. That's some high hopes. I think it does signify the turning of the war in Iraq, not because of Bush but because of Gen. Petraeus and our troops, but the not the War on Terror. This article refutes the arguments downplaying the significance of the turnaround in Anbar.
