The Obama administration has attacked Fox News since he took office. Recently we learned he wiretapped Associated Press reporters and put a warrant out on Fox News reporter James Rosen. Now the UK police state has detained Glenn Greenwald's boyfriend. Everybody else calls him partner, which means business partner to me, but it sounds like they mean gay lover, so I call him boyfriend. For all of my lifetime, the press has been propagandists for government oppression and reporters have considered themselves part of the ruling class. Suddenly, like the plutocrats at Lehman Brothers and Enron, they're discovering otherwise. Oops.
How is it that Glenn Greenwald lives in Brazil, writes for the British Guardian and seems to be an American? If any British newspaper wants to hire me and pay me to live in Brazil, I'm available.
I know people think I'm downplaying this. They're wrong. My point is these people are not like us. Glenn Greenwald is not a man of the people. NSA agents are not men of the people. Nobody in the great ruling cadre of western civilization is like us. This story is about a conflict between ruling class factions, and that's why it's entertaining. Fortunately for us, Greenwald is on our side, but we should never mistake him as being like us. And nobody should have to suffer aggression like Greenwald's boyfriend did at the hands of British aggressors.
