Local

Water main break floods Trotwood.

Here's some good news on the spending cut front.
"A survey of more than 20 localities by the Dayton Daily News found they expect to lose more than $28 million in state aid this year compared to what they received in 2009 because of cuts in funding and the phasing out of three taxes."
The cuts are coming.

UD cuts freshmen enrollment from 2,100 last year to 1,900 this year.
"The class also is among UD’s best academically prepared as judged by college entrance exam scores and high school grade point averages, tying last year’s record, the university said.
The new students are the first in university history to have a guarantee that their financial aid will grow dollar-for-dollar with any tuition increases during their four years."
Those sound like good things.
