Economy

Never let it be said I failed to remind people that our economy was going to collapse in the next several years regardless of who is elected. I do my best to remind reader of this every day or two or three to keep people depressed. In this case, Peter Schiff reminds us:
"He [Mitt Romney] is not going to prevent the crisis.
We’re headed for a real economic collapse regardless of who wins this election."
Did I mention the best hope we have is to escape? I have no doubt that the president, whoever he might be, every member of Congress, every top aid and bureaucrat and all the plutocrats have escape plans. I guarantee you Ben Bernanke has a mansion overseas somewhere and a hoard of gold. Do you? Not likely because you haven't been getting rich off money the government steals from the American people.

Schiff makes a great point. Because Bush pretended, through his rhetoric, to support free markets, the market was blamed for the 2008 collapse. That was baloney. Government caused that collapse. But the deception by Bush empowered Obama to win the election. This is why Republicans pretended to support the market are so dangerous. Nobody would have voted for Obama if Bush hadn't defamed the market by pretending to support it. So Romney faces the same problem. If the economy doesn't collapse in two years, Romney and his phony support for the free market will get the blame.
