Free kibbles

FREEDOM OF SPEECH:

Indian government proposes one world government takeover of the internet. Why mess around with the small stuff? This is most likely intended as a distraction from national governments seizing power over the internet because it will soak up a lot of press and discussion allowing national efforts to advance in relative obscurity. Our rulers are evil, but they're not dumb.

RIGHT TO KEEP AND BEAR ARMS:

Excellent advice if you could only own five guns.

ECONOMY:

Girdles might be a bubble industry. Robert Downey Jr. to earn $50 million for Avengers. The movie industry is definitely in a bubble.
"And as big as Downey's huge payday will turn out, it could be eclipsed by what he commands for an sequel, since he's the lone member of the super-powered cast that's not already under contract for "The Avengers 2"."
Oh my goodness.
"Downey, however, has done more than almost anyone else to build Marvel Studios into a major Hollywood player, starting with the success of the studio’s debut feature, 2008’s “Iron Man”, which earned a surprising $585 million."
Toby McGuire may beg to differ. The first Spiderman movie is still the best superhero movie I've seen. The Dark Knight is second.

TAX AND SPEND:

Greek president appoints a caretaker government.

An example showing how governments use economic development bureaucracies to loot us. I like the reverse Robin Hood analogy and the final quote:
"Am I saying that businesses shouldn’t take subsidy money? No. Once your opponent picks up a knife, the game of chess is over and you have to play by knife-fight rules too. I’m saying that all our political efforts have to go into exposing, then eliminating all subsidy programs and prosecuting their perpetrators. Supporting business subsidies as policy doesn’t make you a "good Republican"; it makes you a thief."
Yes it does.

FEDERAL RESERVE:

This sounds like a bona fide bank run in Greece.
"Greeks rushed to withdraw €800 million from Greek banks late Tuesday, fearful that they would soon be left with only less valuable currency if Greece were to return to the drachma."
Kiss the euro goodbye. I'm just amazed that very little is happening in the US. It's like nobody understands the implications of what we're watching. Or maybe the implications are becoming clear and we'll not see 13,000 on the Dow again for a long time.
"The first shot of good news came from the European Central Bank, which told CNNMoney Wednesday that it would continue to support Greek banks."
So they're going to keep stealing from all Europeans through the inflation tax and give that money to Greek bankers. How is this good news for anybody but Greek bankers? This is just making the problems worse. In the time it took me to document that article, the number as jumped to 900 million euros. At least this article in honest about a bank run.
"So said President Karolos Papoulias, according to minutes of a government meeting procured by Reuters. Papoulias, in turn, was quoting George Provopoulos, governor of the Greek Central Bank, who said depositors took out 700 million euros earlier this week and will likely withdraw at least 100 million more."
Those are important details, but clearly, the numbers are rapidly rising.
"Greeks have withdrawn 72 billion euros since January 2010, leaving bank deposits with 165 billion euros in March, according to the central bank. Social media users were buzzing Wednesday about rumors that Greek banks had set a withdrawal limit of 50 euros on accounts."
That sounds like a bank run to me. The media is now actively entertaining the idea that Greece may leave the eurozone as many Austrian economists have predicted would happen for years. If you think back on it, the Greek government has been marching steadily toward leaving the eurozone. All the histrionics were just excuses to steal more money from European taxpayers. A Greek exit has been inevitable for years. According to this headline, the experts have finally owned up to this reality:
"Experts Try to Chart Path for Exit From Currency"
For years the so-called experts told us that the euro was fine and that the bailouts would solve the problems in Greece and the rest of PIIGS. They were wrong. They were probably lying, not just mistaken. In order to keep their unwarranted reputation as experts, they've suddenly pivoted to the position the real experts have been espousing for years.

HEALTH CARE:

The Daily Mail has discovered that natural fats are good for you. It's establishment masters must be furious.

POLICE STATE:

Injuries for Zimmerman and Martin sure make it look like Martin attacked Zimmerman, but again, it's all about who initiated the conflict, and we have only Zimmerman's word on that. MSNBC does it again:
"Martin was black; Zimmerman is a white man of Hispanic heritage"
I keep waiting for them to call President Obama a white man of African heritage, but I haven't seen it yet.

How many people do you think the government has listening in our conversations and reading our texts and emails? I'd have gone with a shining drone over a hill, but I do like predator nation, foolishly supporting our predator government.

Chicago is the red light camera abuse capital of the country.

POLITICS:

I've often said that Romney is the Republican Obama, but there are differences:
"A Proud Marxist vs. a Welfare/Warfare Statist"
Some choice.

The sad state of politics in America.
"Even out-and-out communists are called liberals. President Barack Obama is called a “liberal.” The late Senator Ted Kennedy was called a “liberal.” Barney Frank is a liberal. Obama’s cabinet is largely staffed by liberals (unless outed, as self-confessed communist Van Jones was). Communism and socialism still carry a bad reputation, so everyone, including the Main Stream Media, and even well-intentioned pundits and commentators friendly to liberty, use the term liberal. The MSM, however, does it to dodge the reputation. Others use it from habit or ignorance, or because calling liberals socialists or communists in drag might open a can of worms they couldn’t handle. This is courtesy carried to a fault. Underlying the fault is a fear of the inevitable clash between those who advocate freedom, and those who do not."
"And what do the designated “conservatives,” or the “right wing,” stand for today, that is, those who identify themselves as Republicans? Nothing, except for a watered-down version of what Progressives, socialists and communists have created over the course of a century, most often accompanied by an appeal to “tradition” and religious faith. All Progressive legislation is altruist and collectivist in nature. Conservatives have never challenged the moral foundations of Progressivism. They can’t, because they subscribe to the same morality. They will never confess that Progressives have elevated the state to take the place of a deity, and that men should live for the secular deity’s moral code of self-sacrifice and obedience to the state’s commands. Also known as The Ten Thousand Commandments."
This is why our country is in such rapid decline.

LOCAL:

People continue to abandon properties and property taxes.
"Property tax delinquencies in Montgomery County increased from $90.7 million in the first half of 2011 to $107.9 million this year, while the number of vacant and abandoned properties skyrocketed from 1,620 to 7,077."
The decline accelerates.

MISC:

Hackers shut down Pirate Bay with DDoS attack. I wonder if the movie or record industry is doing this.

Verizon bows to reality and halts unlimited data plans. All companies will do this eventually.

Mises talks about the crisis of interventionism that is crashing down on us now.
"Yet the age of interventionism is reaching its end. Interventionism has exhausted all its potentialities and must disappear."
And it's going to be painful.
"Interventionism aims at confiscating the "surplus" of one part of the population and at giving it to the other part. Once this surplus is exhausted by total confiscation, a further continuation of this policy is impossible."
That results in the destruction of the economy, kind of like we're seeing now.
"Marching ever further on the way of interventionism, first Germany, then Great Britain and many other European countries, have adopted central planning, the Hindenburg pattern of socialism. It is noteworthy that in Germany the deciding measures were not resorted to by the Nazis, but some time before Hitler seized power by BrĂ¼ning, the Catholic chancellor of the Weimar Republic, and in Great Britain not by the Labor Party but by the Tory prime minister Mr. Churchill. The fact has been purposely obscured by the great sensation made in Great Britain about the nationalization of the Bank of England, the coal mines, and other enterprises. However, these seizures were of subordinate importance only. Great Britain is to be called a socialist country, not because certain enterprises have been formally expropriated and nationalized, but because all the economic activities of all citizens are subject to full control by the government and its agencies."
This is important to realize. The bad systems were created by supposedly good people. Only afterwards did bad people take control of the system. That's because the bad systems required evil men, as Hayek said men who believed the ends justify the means, to run them. You have to break a few eggs to make an omelet.

Miley looks great here, but she's thinner than she used to be. I hope she's not being unhealthy.
