Free kibbles

FREEDOM OF SPEECH:

I'm unimpressed with these couple of instances in which government propaganda failed to move the population. That's like saying since the Palestinian missile attack last week didn't kill anybody, Israelis don't have to fear Palestinian missile attacks. Dream on. Government's are brutally effective at carrying out their singular mission - looting the people - and failures like this will be used to improve their abilities.

ECONOMY:

Hiring slows and more workers leave the work force in March.
"Meanwhile, the unemployment rate fell to 8.2% as the labor force shrank by 164,000 workers, mostly due to white women leaving the job market."
As the Obama-Bernanke economy pushes more and more people out of the work force, it created the phony effect of reducing the official unemployment rate.

It makes sense that we're in a new internet stock bubble.

TAX AND SPEND:

Joseph Solerno with apologies to the Beatles:
"If you drive a car , I’ll tax the street.
If you try to sit , I’ll tax your seat.
If you get too cold , I’ll tax the heat.
If you take a walk , I’ll tax your feet.
. . . And if you don’t use your gift cards within two years, I’ll seize them all."
This is only the tip of the iceberg.
"Pursuant to a law passed two years ago, the New Jersey Department of the Treasury will soon compel sellers to obtain the ZIP code of every buyer of a gift card in order to enable the state to expropriate the value of the unused card as “unclaimed property” after two years. The law also applies to unused travelers’ checks and money orders in addition to gift cards"
Government exists for the sole purpose of looting the people.

If Obama's budget prevails, interest payments on the debt would surpass war expenditures in 2019.
But this will never happen because the US government as we know it won't survive until 2019, not even close, and when it collapses, the war budget will rise because government will turn their guns on Americans while the rest of budget disappears.

REGULATION:

The British government is trying to kill FOIA requests by charging for them. Expect the US government to follow suit.

Canadian Telco's lobby against a free market in cable TV. This is a good reminder that businesses hate free markets because they hate competition.

Google files patent on autonomous vehicles. Why is this news? How stupid do you have to be to think some major corporation wouldn't try to use government to dominate this market?

HEALTH CARE:

Government funding of science, in this case cancer research, produces fraudulent pseudo-science.
"During a decade as head of global cancer research at Amgen, C. Glenn Begley identified 53 'landmark' publications — papers in top journals, from reputable labs — for his team to reproduce. Begley sought to double-check the findings before trying to build on them for drug development. Result: 47 of the 53 could not be replicated. He described his findings in a commentary piece published on Wednesday in the journal Nature (paywalled) . ... But they and others fear the phenomenon is the product of a skewed system of incentives that has academics cutting corners to further their careers."
This is how all bureaucracy works. Bureaucrats have no incentive to solve problems and every incentive not to solve them. If they cure cancer, they lose their jobs. If they fail to cure it, they continue making big bucks in their cushy, bureaucratic jobs. And they every incentive to sensationalize their findings or even make them up.
"Begley's experience echoes a report from scientists at Bayer AG last year. Neither group of researchers alleges fraud, nor would they identify the research they had tried to replicate."
Because if they did, they would lose their jobs and be ruined.
"Some authors required the Amgen scientists sign a confidentiality agreement barring them from disclosing data at odds with the original findings. "The world will never know" which 47 studies -- many of them highly cited -- are apparently wrong, Begley said."
Just like in the case of the global warming fraud, this goes against the principles of the scientific method. Anybody who is keeping data secret is not following the scientific method, which demands testing, and is therefore not performing science. He is performing pseudo-science.
""We went through the paper line by line, figure by figure," said Begley. "I explained that we re-did their experiment 50 times and never got their result. He said they'd done it six times and got this result once, but put it in the paper because it made the best story. It's very disillusioning.""
There you go. An admission of pseudo-science for profit.
"On Tuesday, a committee of the National Academy of Sciences heard testimony that the number of scientific papers that had to be retracted increased more than tenfold over the last decade; the number of journal articles published rose only 44 percent."
This illustrates how rapidly government is corrupting science. And because most of this pseudo-science is done at universities, this is associated with the higher education bubble. This is an incredibly damning article.

Here's another terrible consequence of socialized medicine: A British woman was ordered to find a new doctor because of her carbon footprint to travel to and from the doctor was too great.

GLOBAL WARMING AND ENERGY:

I get a kick out of looking back at old predictions of global warming because they are universally, outrageously inaccurate. Or maybe not universally. This article claims one got it right. The problem is the frauds are claiming this, and I'm skeptical of their current temperature claims.

It's like drilling then forcing water through rock makes it vibrate. Ooooh, let's all be scared. This is another alarmist fraud. My building shakes every day from trucks driving by, but fracking has never bothered me.

POLICE STATE:

Government corruption of every aspect of our lives has produced so many shootings in the last few days, all politicized, I can hardly tell which is which because of the media's pro-government agenda.

POLITICS:

Ron Paul is breaking records for crowd size every day. This time it was 8,500 at Berkeley. Berkeley Occupy supporters support Ron Paul.

Apparently I'm not the only one who recognizes Obama likes to say one thing while doing another.
"For those who have paid attention, President Obama has a knack for saying one thing and doing another altogether: a knack for claiming one position while actually occupying another."
It's a shame that this election won't be decided by those who paid attention. It will be decided by how many people want the US economy to collapse or are ignorant of or don't care about that collapse versus people who want it to rebound.

Democrats preparing for election fraud in Chicago and elsewhere, and the sun is preparing to rise in the east. Why is this news? I guess many if not most Americans don't realize that election fraud, mostly by Democrats, is de rigor in the US. It's funny how they don't mention the outrageous election fraud we've seen from Republicans against Ron Paul this primary season.

MEDIA:

One of Obama's media sycophants busts Obama's mouthpiece for "making a mistake".

Journalists give Obama standing ovation, sit for Romney. This is like a dog sits for owner, but bites stranger story. Again, where's the news value? I get it. Most people aren't aware of this, but do you think for one second that Foxnews, the supposed water carrier for Republicans, will make a story of it? If you think so, I have some land in Florida to sell you.

Obama's media allies explain $4 gas:
"In an opinion piece for CNBC.com on Wednesday, Street Signs anchor Brian Sullivan argued: "...for the majority of the country, $4 gas isn't going to doom us or our economy....right now it just doesn't add up. After all, it looks like $5 is the new $4 when it comes to gas prices and the economy.""
Gas prices don't matter when Democrats are driving them up, only when Republicans do it.

LOCAL:

Only government could be so incompetent to allow sewage to back up into people's basements for years.
"The EPA issued a court order more than three years ago for Vandalia to take care of the problem or face fines of up to more than $177,500. The city has not been fined because it has shown a willingness to resolve the problem, an EPA spokesman said Wednesday."
Oh my goodness. You can't make this stuff up. Can you imagine if a private company allowed sewage to back up in homes for years? They management staff would be imprisoned and the company bankrupted. I doubt the city will compensate those people for damages.

MISC:

A distant star seems to have more planets than Sol. So what? Did people believe that no star anywhere in the galaxy would have more stars than Sol? Of course some systems have more, and some systems have fewer. Why is this news?

Is it just me or has ESPN become the world's leading propagandist for sports bureaucrats? I don't give a **** about Roger Godell or the baseball or basketball tyrants. Why is my sports news dominated by bureaucratic crap?
