Free kibbles

TAX AND SPEND:

The purpose of this super-congress is to cut the tea party out of the process because they've been an obstacle to government-uber-alles Republican-Democrat establishment. I hadn't heard they'd given the president the power to raise the debt ceiling again and that it would take 2/3 vote in Congress to block him. That's the McConnell plan that I thought would happen. I was closer to right than I thought.

Only ten of the 87 Republican freshmen, the tea party candidates voted against Boehner.

All government spending, including roads, is a bridge to nowhere. If you want to make roads efficient, privatize them.

REGULATION:

I should probably add a separate category for government shutting down lemonade stands. I can't decide whether to list them under regulation or police state. When a SWAT team shows up and murders a little girl, the answer will be obvious. If you think I'm joking, you've yet to realize how murderous the leviathan monster we've created is.

HEALTH CARE:

The government will shut down that socialized medicine disaster Walter Reed.

Multi-jurisdictional SWAT team raids raw milk producer. I've never been interested in raw milk, but the more they oppress this product, the more interested I am to try it. More details:
"Public Health Officials today descended once again on a buying club, that specializes in raw foods. Club organizer, James Stewart was arrested at his home, the locks to his personal residence were changed, his papers, money and computer seized. At the same time, farmer Sharon Palmer and Weston A. Price Foundation volunteer chapter leader Victoria Bloch Coulter were arrested. All three were charged with Section 182A-Conspiracy to Commit a Crime. Bond for James Stewart was set at $123,000. Bail for Bloch is recommended at $60,000. Bail for Palmer is recommended at $121,000.All this, in a state where raw milk is perfectly legal to sell, and even available through retail stores."
Makes perfect sense to Nazis. Yeah, I used the word.

Anti-biotic resistance is typical in salmonella outbreaks. Since when? Let me guess: since government seized control of our health care system. Centralization of political power inevitably leads to centralization of economic power. It can't be any other way. In the health care sector, that means concentration of health care power in the hands of a few hospitals and providers. So it's no surprise that a big corporation created by big government has created a superbug that has infiltrated gigantic hospitals. This couldn't happen in a free society. Cargill would never exist. Giant hospitals would never exist. The natural, creative destruction of the marketplace would prevent such disasters.

GLOBAL WARMING:

Sixty nine percent of Americans realize that global warming pseudo-scientists have falsified data to push their political agenda on the American people. What's so sad about this is, if the natural climate cycles of the planet had continued cooling the planet for another ten years, these monsters would have won political favor and killed millions or billions.

WAR ON DRUGS:

What happens in Daytona Beach when government agents get a warrant to search for drugs? Strip search in front of a line-up of cops. I doubt they payed the standard tip. The war on drugs is a license to strip women and drool.

Now we learn that the feds let drug dealers of their choice run cocaine into the US. If you were part of that cartel, you win. If you were part of another, you lose. The feds choose. If they like you, they funnel guns to you. If they don't, they help you kill your competitors.

POLICE STATE:

I wonder how much it cost to capture 72 child pornographers in world-wide crack-down. Apparently child pornography is not a very big problem.

FAA cracks down on news agencies for using drones. Only government agents are allowed to use drones. Manned helicopters, on the other hand, are fine. This is just a matter of making money.

Germany makes Facebook face recognition illegal, but you know darn good and well their Gestapo, just like ours, will continue using it.

FOREIGN POLICY:

The UN security council condemned Syria over human rights. The Syrian government is violent, criminal organization like any other, clearly more violent at the moment than others, and so any sane person would condemn that violence. But this has nothing to do with sanity. This is political. This is greasing the skids to send American troops into Syria. Be very afraid.

POLITICS:

Romney hires Chertoff and Bork. Could he possibly suck any further to the Washington establishment?

Great Ayn Rand quote:
"When you see that in order to produce, you need to obtain permission from men who produce nothing; when you see that money is flowing to those who deal not in goods, but in favors; when you see that men get rich more easily by graft than by work, and your laws no longer protect you against them, but protect them against you...you may know that your society is doomed."
We're doomed.

Thomas Sowell joins the chorus expressing the obvious:
"What happened was that the political words had no relationship to the economic reality."
Let me rephrase: politicians all lie.

Ron Paul is taking the Iowa straw poll in Ames seriously. This is important. Paul has been in Congress for 12 terms or so. He was in the 80s, left, then came back. And as much as I appreciate his principle and respect his knowledge - he's been right on everything - he's been bizarrely ineffective. The question Ron Paul needs to answer is can he transcend his knowledge and wisdom and become an effective politician. He's apparently bet his future that he can do that in the Iowa straw poll in Ames. Man, I hope he's right.

LOCAL:

Unions get advantage in local bill like the sun gets an advantage at rising in the east.

MISC:

Here's a great headline:
"Building material absorbs and releases heat"
Name one that doesn't. Scientists claim this one has a thermostat, but with a headline like that, I'm skeptical.

I got a big laugh out of this claim that owning a cell phone is a civil right. The crooks who steal them and give them to others will probably have the last laugh.

Some dufus calls for others to be more creative in web search. Do it yourself.

Virtual rendition of Captain Sully's doomed flight which he landed in the Hudson and saved his passengers.
