Tax and Spend

The House is going to reconvene on Sunday to pass whatever the Senate has already passed to avoid the fiscal cliff, even though all tax bills are required to originate in the House. I like this part:
"President Barack Obama telephoned House Speaker John Boehner (R., Ohio), Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R., Ky.), Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D., Nev.) and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D., Calif.) late Wednesday during his vacation in Hawaii "to receive an update on the ongoing fiscal negotiations," White House spokeswoman Amy Brundage said."
Obama isn't even involved. He isn't even pretending to care. All the plutocrats need from him is his pen. Too funny. This is an important little fact buried deep in the article:
"Meanwhile, the Treasury Department said Wednesday the government would hit its legal borrowing limit by Monday, setting in motion emergency measures to keep the government operating for several more weeks and serving as a reminder that the nation's budget wrangling could continue well into 2013."
Not to long ago talking heads claimed the government would hit the debt limit in February. I guess everybody got that wrong too.
