Free kibbles

FREEDOM OF SPEECH:

Video of the Kim Dotcom raid has been released in his trial. You might think a simple arrest for copyright infringement, nothing dangerous, would involve a couple guys in suits delivering a warrant. You would be wrong.
"The helicopter carrying members of the elite special tactics group flew into the Coatesville home of Dotcom. “Ground units, Gates are open,” someone says into the radio. Dotcom’s pregnant wife their three children, some guests and about a dozen staff were also there. All is quiet below. Within seconds four armed members of the special tactics group ran towards the main door. The helicopter immediately took off."
Welcome to SWAT teams arresting you for speeding.

TAX AND SPEND:

Thanks to all the money government steals from the rest of us, Washington D.C. is booming. For the same reason, unemployment in Columbus, Ohio is only 6.2 percent. I'm sure you'll find a similar trend in every state capital.

Blogger claims we have the smallest government in 45 years. I love it when people make claims like this because they make every supporter of bigger government look stupid.

To money-grubbing NASA scientists, the crater in which the Curiosity rover landed in looks like it's full of taxpayer money. They say it looks like earth, but in fact, it looks nothing like earth to you or me. They could land a rover in a black hole, and they'd claim it looks like earth, they expected to find water and it could harbor life. This is how NASA jerks Americans around and obtains more taxpayer funding. You think I'm lying, check out the comments for this article:
"JohnNicoletti at 6:31 PM August 08, 2012
What a waste of time and money---we already know there is nothing there except red dirt......lol.............why not find another habitable planet in another galaxy?
sgreco at 6:23 PM August 08, 2012 "When Grotzinger was asked if there was possibly gypsum in the shown image – a sign that water had been present – the Caltech geologist said, 'Sure, why not? ... That’s an entirely reasonable suggestion.' "
---And if you watched this interview, you also know when he said, "Sure, why not," the entire audience and panel burst out laughing."
It's all about looting the American people. NASA is a joke. It's probably been a joke forever, and I just realized it. I always thought NASA was above the government crap, and man do I feel like a fool for not realizing it for so long. As if on queue, NASA has its rover take a narcissistic picture of itself. Note to NASA, you won't find any water or life on your rover unless you sent it there.

REGULATION:

Corporations are "requesting" the FCC allow more radiation from cell phones. They'll change the regulation, showing this is a perfect example of regulatory capture and that government works on the behalf of rich special interests, not the people at large.

FEDERAL RESERVE:

A Fed official blames the Great Recession on Fed policy, but not the way you might think.
"A moderate recession became a major recession in summer 2008 when the [Federal Open Market Committee] ceased lowering the federal funds rate while the economy deteriorated. The central empirical fact of the 2008-2009 recession is that the severe declines in output that in appeared in the [second quarter of 2008 and the first quarter of 2009] … had already been locked in by summer 2008."
Bernanke didn't inflate soon enough or fast enough. Stupid or evil? I'm going with evil. I think the Fed people know exactly what they're doing to us too. I think they own lots of gold and houses and property overseas so they can escape with their stolen money when Americans finally put a stop to their looting.

HEALTH CARE:

OMG, wouldn't it be great if Romney took health care back to the 1950s? Think about how cheap health care would be. Everybody could afford it. But like always, Obama is lying. Romney is a big-government looter just like Obama. As a side note, wouldn't it be awesome if the press explained why health care in the US was so much better in the 1950s? That'll never happen.

GLOBAL WARMING AND ENERGY:

A lot of people think that politicians are stupid, not evil, but this email from the Solyndra CEO calling the federal government the "Bank of Washington" shows that they know they are looting us for the benefit of themselves and their cronies.

US scientists, who have no credibility on the subject, claim July was the hottest month in US history. I'm sure this proclamation will be quickly refuted, but the most interesting point in the article is the previous hottest month was July 1936. If man-made CO2 was really warming the planet, the hottest months in history in the country that has produced the most CO2 in the last hundred years would all be recent. But no. 1936 was, and is likely to still be, the hottest. I had previously reported that July was only the fourth hottest locally. The rebuttal didn't take long. Here's the comparison of 2012 to 1936 and 1934. This article draws attention to James Hansen's 1999 statement,
"In the NASA press release in 1999 , Hansen was very strongly for 1934. He said then:
The U.S. has warmed during the past century, but the warming hardly exceeds year-to-year variability.Indeed, in the U.S. the warmest decade was the 1930s and the warmest year was 1934.
This was illustrated with the following depiction of US temperature history, showing that 1934 was almost 0.6 deg C warmer than 1998."
It was only later that Hansen began fudging temperatures to make it appear that recent years were warmer and older years colder, data which NASA was forced to correct.

POLICE STATE:

Ex-TSA employee claims,
"The body scanner? TSA says that nobody views the naked scans. That's BS. There is an office that is manned by a couple of agents who view the naked scans. The scanner itself has a cheesy cartoon style picture that is supposed to be in full view of passengers to make them feel better about going through them."
Just what I'd expect from TSA.

Cronyism and political donations kept the Justice Department from prosecuting anybody on Wall Street, like usual. That's why government exists.

Sikh temple shooter killed himself. He was not killed by police as originally reported. Police wounded him. It doesn't make the individuals who engaged him any less heroic, but it does show the bias of the press. How come the press works so hard to turn government agents into heroes while ignoring or barely noting when civilians do the same? Rhetorical question. I don't dispute the heroism of those cops, but civilian heroes deserve at least as much if not more acclaim.
"Former Oak Creek police chief Thomas Bauer calls Murphy is a selfless and committed Irish-American cop."
Irish-American? What is up with that? Have the Irish suddenly become a protected minority? This crap stinks of propaganda. I hate to be so cynical, but I learned better long ago. Something bigger is going on here, and the press is trying to distact us from the bigger story.

Don't go boating in Tampa. Cops plan to patrol the waterfront with gunboats during the Republican convention.
"Tampa Police Cpl. James Reiser says anyone swimming or paddling in security zones will be detained and probably arrested."
There you go. Swimming in the ocean is now illegal. The government we empowered is insane which means the US population is insane.

WAR:

The US is finally cleaning up Agent Orange in Vietnam. I'm sure this seems like a wonderful thing to many, but it's not. Why should I pay for cleaning up Agent Orange? I didn't use it. I didn't advocate it. I didn't advocate the war. I was a baby then. Why should I be forced to pay to clean up Agent Orange? And I'm old enough to remember Vietnam. Why should even younger people be forced to pay? Take the money from the estates of Johnson and his cronies, not the American people.

Eric Margolis knows what he's talking about.
"Drones Make More New Enemies Than They Kill"
This should be obvious to anybody with a brain. I'm embarrassed to say I didn't realize it many years ago when Bush started drone attacks.
"I was visiting Pakistan’s ambassador to the United States when the phone on his desk rang.
"The hot line," he said. "Sorry I have to take this call."
As he listened, his face grew darker and darker. Finally, he banged down the phone and exploded: "Another US drone attack that killed a score of our people. We were never warned the attack was coming. We are supposed to be US allies!"
This strongly pro-American ambassador was wrong. While the US hails Pakistan as a key non-NATO ally, the US treats it like a militarily occupied country. The government in Islamabad is left to observe increasing drone attacks and CIA ground operation with deepening embarrassment and helplessness.
The consequences will be blowback like 9/11, or worse. Why do you think Pakistan's politicians allow these murders?
"But the blockade was recently lifted after $1 billion of American aid to Islamabad was unfrozen. The dollars are flowing again – many of them right back out into Swiss, Dubai or Singapore bank accounts."
How do you think US supported dictators like Mubarek and Khadafi get rich? Bribery checks like this from the US. Ron Paul should have made the case that current US foreign policy is a policy of murder and bribery.
"Trucking supplies into northern Afghanistan via the Black Sea, Russia, and Central Asia has been costing the US $100 million monthly at a time when 44 million Americans live below the poverty level. Flying supplies and munitions from the US to Afghanistan costs ten times more than ground transport. "
I have nothing more to say about looting tonight.

Have you ever heard of Osamagate?
"The US media, nonetheless, concedes that "the Taliban's coming to power [in 1995] is partly the outcome of the U.S. support of the Mujahideen, the radical Islamic group, in the 1980s in the war against the Soviet Union".3 But it also readily dismisses its own factual statements and concludes in chorus, that the CIA had been tricked by a deceitful Osama. It's like "a son going against his father". "
So ObL tricked the CIA. Who would have ever guessed that a radical Arab Muslim might stand up for radical Arab Muslim causes against the US ruling class? Apparently the CIA is stupid, right up until they come after you or put Obama in the White House. I think there might be a real social defect here. It's possible the sociopaths in charge of the US government are incapable of realizing that somebody might who works with them at the moment might have different long term goals than them.

POLITICS:

Even the Washington Post busts Harry Reid for his bogus claim about Romney's taxes.

Presidential candidates sanitize and boost the Wikipedia pages of their VP candidates before they announce them, making edits to Wikipedia pages a great indicator of the VP pick.
"None of Wikipedia entries for the current candidates being bandied about by Romney-watchers — Rob Portman, Marco Rubio, Paul Ryan, Bobby Jindal, Chris Christie, Kelly Ayotte or Pawlenty — are currently showing anything like the spike in edits that Cyveillance spotted on Palin and Biden's pages in 2008. But most of those came in the 24 hours prior to the official announcement. That said, if Wikipedia changes offer any hint of what's coming, then today might be a good day to bet on Ryan."
If this pans out, it shows another way Romney is like Obama, picking a Washington insider to boost his own credentials.

Of course Obama is hiding something by keeping his college records secret. If he had glowing records, he'd have made them public years ago.

Obama admin orders federal agents not to arrest Portland Occupy protesters.

MEDIA:

Here's an illustration of the lengths to which the media will go to support Obama:
"That new Priorities USA ad which effectively blames Mitt Romney for a woman’s cancer death is a strange beast. It is at once the most dishonest and substantive ad of the summer."
I'm really enjoying how the farcical nature of our elections is being exposed on a grand scale this election cycle.

Any article that begins with "tea party extermists" is crap, but it is an open question how many US troops will actively oppress Americans. Some will. Some won't. The numbers matter.

LOCAL:

Ohio UAV center could put us all in jail, but the only thing government's socialist propagandists care about is jobs.Let's imagine future headlines. "UAV center that launches UAVs into people's bathrooms to monitor them lauded because the center produces jobs." Hooray for socialist false security.

MISC:

A stateless society that flourished in Europe.

Earthquake swarm hits southern California.

As I emphatically predicted, Kerri Walsh and Misty May won gold in beach volleyball, they're third in a row. Whoever seeded them second should be fired. Kerri Walsh is the best woman's volleyball player in history, and Misty May isn't far behind her.
""That was all very in the moment," Walsh said. "It's been a family journey. My boys have just made me a better woman. Misty has embraced my family, with my husband, and my boys and the madness that is us in such a beautiful way. They love their Auntie Turtle — that's what they call Misty."
Walsh is an amazing athlete.
"Walsh said she plans to continue competing with a different partner, but she'll figure out who later. "
And she'll keep winning. Both women are class acts. Congratulations to both.
