Free kibbles

SOCIALISM:

GM makes no profit on the Chevy Volt, but taxpayers are paying for it.

FREEDOM OF SPEECH:

New Zealand officials pressure judge in Kim Dotcom case to step down because he considers US copyright aspirations to be "the enemy". He's right.

TAX AND SPEND:

This methodology for calculating spending under a given president is wrong. First, presidents can and do affect spending as soon as they take office. They inevitably pass a "transportation bill" that's a big handout to their supporters that takes effect immediately. Obama passed his $800 billion stimulus boondoggle in February, and it started funding projects by May. Second, new budgets are passed in the summer (except by Harry Reid's Senate which refuses to pass one). It doesn't take a year for a president's new spending to take effect.

The US already has the most progressive tax code in the industrialized world.

FEDERAL RESERVE:

An explanation of the Libor controversy.

GLOBAL WARMING AND ENERGY:

Another major instance of government failure, this time find the Climategate leaker.
"Senior Investigating Officer, Detective Chief Superintendant Julian Gregory, said: “Despite detailed and comprehensive enquiries, supported by experts in this field, the complex nature of this investigation means that we do not have a realistic prospect of identifying the offender or offenders and launching criminal proceedings within the time constraints imposed by law."
I doubt this government failure will be publicized.

POLICE STATE:

NSA whistleblower explains that everybody is a suspect in the US.
"'Security has effectively become the State religion; you don't question it. And if you question it, then your loyalty is questioned.' 'Speaking truth of power is very dangerous in today's world,' he added. The interviewer pointed out that investigative journalists are labeled as 'terrorist helpers' for trying to reveal the truth, to which Drake said the government's take is 'you go after the messenger because the last thing you want to do is deal with the message.'"
We did this to ourselves.

The prosecution has been trashing Zimmerman by releasing cherry-picked info to make him look bad, and the media has been slamming since long before that, but apparently we're supposed to be outraged that Zimmerman has gone on TV to defend himself. To us, this seems bizarre, but get used to it. In our world of a collapsing economy and deadbeats staring at TV all day, this is the new justice system. I'm just surprised the judge has allowed Zimmerman the freedom to defend himself in public. That's really bizarre. This is the future of our injustice system. OJ was just the beginning. Judge Judy is just the current phase. Soon, all cases will be available on pay-per-view, and the ones with which get the most viewers might give the victims, by which I mean the defendants, half a chance. Kind of like the Running Man but without the action and the chance for success.

WAR:

Who do you think is honing the bomb skills of Syrian rebels? CIA agents, right? I find it telling that not one mainstream media story about Syria or Libya or Egypt or whatever other country mentioned the CIA. It's almost like the CIA didn't exist for these media outlets. Which gets back to claims the CIA has infiltrated and controls the mainstream media.

FOREIGN POLICY:

Did Iran risk nuclear annihilation by bombing some bus that gained their rulers nothing, or is this a false flag attack? Ask yourself, what did Iran's rulers gain? On the other hand, Israel's rulers gained plenty of support for attacking Iran. I'm going with false flag.

POLITICS:

Ron Paul joins the chorus advising Romney to release his tax forms. I don't give a damn about his tax forms. They're just another distraction, and I think Romney is correct that that distraction will grow if he releases them. Romney's following Obama's model.

Obama has mutual fund investments in corporations which outsource jobs. Can you smell the hypocrisy?

Retired member of SEAL Team 6 lauches anti-Obama PAC. It was bad enough when the Bilderbergers abandoned Obama, but this is like a knife in his political heart. Don't get me wrong, Obama's Marxist, wealth envy, class warfare message will resonate with enough voters to make his vote total respectable, but he's going to get politely creamed.

MISC:

If we're lucky, this Congress will pass fewer laws than any Congress since 1947. But they've passed plenty of doozies, stealing our money.

Twenty years ago I complained about the lack of originality in games. I claimed game designers cared only about graphics, not game-play. Apparently the problem still remains. I offered a solution, but nobody wanted to listen to it. I still think my idea would make a great game.

I'm sure I'll be called many things over this prediction, but...

Sell Yahoo short. Anytime you see a CEO more interested in his own, I'm sorry, her own photo-shoot than the company, sell short. Plus she's pregnant. If she puts her company first, she's a terrible mother. If she puts her baby first, as she damn well should, she'll be a bad CEO. You can't have it both ways.

On the other hand, I'll take this girl to be my Thunder God any day of the year.
