Free kibbles

HEALTH CARE:

Radiation scans found to increase chances of cancer. Imagine that, TSA.

GLOBAL WARMING AND ENERGY:

It was a big story when the Japanese government shut down all nuclear plants. Not so much when they're reactivating them. Energy matters. Energy costs matter.

WAR:

By all accounts the US government is waging hot wars in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq, Yemen, Somalia, Nigeria, the Balkans and more. There's also tremendous evidence that US forces are waging war in the Philippines, Libya and Syria. All these wars are funded by the US military. So it's ironic that US military officers claim that cutting spending might lead to war. That's like claiming that cutting swimming might to lead to drowning. That's like claiming cutting climbing might lead to falling from trees. What a travesty. Why would such decorated men make such stupid statements? Money. They get rich from fomenting war. They're lying. This is a scam.

Remember when Eisenhower warned us of the military-industrial complex? Me neither. I wasn't born yet. But I've read about it. So I'm not surprised to learn the military-industrial complex is using socialist pressure to manipulate Americans and our representatives.
"Facing economic uncertainty, defense contractors are plotting to spur Congress to nix the automatic budget cuts set to begin next year. The plan? Threaten to send out layoff notices — hundreds of thousands of them, right before Election Day."
This is the ultimate consequence of government funding anything. If government funded roofing, roofers would do this. If it funded dentists, dentists would do this. It if funded gardeners, gardeners would do this. Government is coercive power, and coercive power corrupts. And our country has begun to collapse because of it.

MISC:

It looks like AMD will no longer focus on microprocessors but video instead.

Are you terrified of of vermin on Japanese tsunami refuse? Neither am I. It's just amazing the lengths the media will go to to attempt to scare-monger people. Do you think this is the first time in thousands of years flotsam from Japan reached the US west coast? Is this the first tsunami in Japan? Of course not. This is naked, irresponsible fear-mongering.

I'm shocked that about half of IT professionals admit they would take privileged info if fired. I knew guys who I thought would do that, but I always thought the percentages were tiny. Has the Fed's easy money policy corrupted this many people this quickly?
"And of those that monitored, more than half said they could get around the current controls."
Of course they could. This is not normal human nature. Something has corrupted these people.

The Australian government will use violence to create the world's biggest ocean reserve, and we're supposed be happy about that.
