Free kibbles

TAX AND SPEND:

The EU ponies up $125 billion to bail out Spain. It didn't work in Greece. It didn't work in Ireland. It won't work in Spain. This is just more wealth looted from Europeans and flushed down the government wealth destruction hole.

People are fleeing so fast into safe havens, that investors are paying money to buy German bonds.
"In Berlin the two-year government bond yield fell below zero for the first time, with the bizarre result that jittery international investors are now paying – rather than being paid – for lending to Germany."
This coming crash is going to hurt like nothing anybody has ever seen.

Pat Buchanan explains that both parties, regardless of who wins in November, will increase government spending.
"When FDR came to power in 1933, after his running mate, "Cactus Jack" Garner, accused Herbert Hoover of taking us "down the road to socialism," the Federal government was spending 4 percent of GDP.
Today, it spends 24 percent. Under both parties, under every president since FDR, domestic spending has moved in one direction."
And it's going to continue until the government can't borrow money any more. Then we're all screwed.

FEDERAL RESERVE:

Salt was an early money.
"Salt was a pretty good currency, especially before refrigeration, because it was widely demanded, divisible down to the grain, very portable, easy to weigh, and could easily be tested for counterfeit by tasting it. Romans used salt for money."
It also lasts basically forever.

GLOBAL WARMING AND ENERGY:

Remembering the essay to kicked off the socialist take-over of the environmental movement.
"Heilbroner’s suggested subterfuge was explained by him as follows: "There is, however, another way of looking at . . . socialism. It is to conceive of it . . . as the society that must emerge if humanity is to cope with . . . the ecological burden that economic growth is placing on the environment." "We" socialists must all become watermelons, in other words. If enough members of the public can be hoodwinked with this subterfuge, then "capitalism must be monitored, regulated, and contained to such a degree that it would be difficult to call the final social order capitalism.""
And that's exactly what socialists like Al Gore and Robert Kennedy have done.

POLICE STATE:

Remember how these new government IDs were going to be impossible to forge? That was a lie.
"Overseas forgers from as far away as China are shipping fake driver's license and other IDs to the United States that can bypass even the newest electronic digital security systems, according to document security experts and the Secret Service.
The new IDs are "an affront to the very sovereignty and dignity of the states that issue them," says David Huff, a senior special agent in enforcement for Virginia's Department of Alcohol and Beverage Control, which has investigated some of the frauds.
Most troubling to authorities is the sophistication of the forgeries: Digital holograms are replicated, PVC plastic identical to that found in credit cards is used, and ink appearing only under ultraviolet light is stamped onto the cards."
These IDs are about controlling Americans, not protecting us. They make us less secure because they give us a false sense of security.

Praise for high walls and barbed wire.

WAR:

Cyber-attack is one path for blowback from drone attacks.
"But there's plenty of evidence that drones antagonize local populations and create more enemies over the long term than we kill in the short term. The failed 2010 Times Square bomber, Faisal Shahzad, has said that about the U.S. drone campaign in Pakistan, and the Washington Post has described how drone strikes may be breeding sympathy for al-Qaeda in Yemen."
Terrorists want to kill us because our government has been oppressing them directly and through proxies for decades. Ratcheting up the oppression into mass murder cannot solve this problem.

The US plans to encircle China, but it won't because it has no money to do so. Our rulers know this, so why the charade? They realize China will not keep loaning the US government money to spend on forces threatening China. This is all a charade for some reason. Is it just to scare Americans into allowing the government to loot us more before the collapse?
"America is creating a sweeping arc of allies and bases that begins in Singapore, and moves northeast to the Philippines, then Taiwan, Okinawa, Japan, and South Korea, neatly bottling up China’s expanding naval forces. India is being encouraged to build powerful naval forces that can threaten China’s oil routes to the Mideast and keep its navy out of the Indian Ocean."
Does anybody remember what happened when the US did this to Japan? I bet the families of those who died at Pearl Harbor do even if they don't know what precipitated the attack.

FOREIGN POLICY:

Election rigging in Egypt could prompt a violent revolution.

MISC:

Market actors are quietly improving the internet which will lead to improved services and lower costs. I hope government doesn't find out about this, because if it does, it will try to hinder it.
