Free kibbles

FREEDOM OF SPEECH:

Australian government proposes council to regulate all speech.

ISPs become copyright cops. Who needs SOPA and PIPA anyway?

TAX AND SPEND:

Kascich's new plan has no spending cuts. What a loser.

REGULATION:

Pharaoh Obama's DOJ orders every business with a public pool to install a lift system to load and unload people in wheelchairs, starting today.

Tennessee-Georgia legal water war.

FEDERAL RESERVE:

Here's another simple explanation of why our economy and we are screwed.
"In the wake of the Credit Crunch, the Fed solved the problem of resetting adjustable-rate mortgages by essentially putting the entire country on an teaser rate. Just like those homeowners who really couldn't afford their houses, our balance sheet looks fine unless you factor in higher rates. The recent stress tests assume market interest rates stay low, the federal funds rate remains near-zero, and 10-year Treasuries keep below 2%. Why are those safe assumptions? Historic rates have averaged around 6%, a level that would cause every major US bank to fail!"
The Fed can't allow interest rates to rise because it would bankrupt the government and the banks. Without higher interest rates, the American people won't save money and businesses won't invest. But eventually rates will rise despite the Fed, then everything comes crashing down.
"Unless the Fed expects us to live with steadily increasing prices for basic goods and services, it will eventually be forced to allow interest rates to rise. However, if it does so, it will quickly bankrupt the US Treasury, the banking system, and any Americans left with flexible-rate debt."
The Japanese central banks has kept interest rates artificially low for decades and kept their economy stagnant for decades. The Fed would do the same, but it can't. Unlike Japan, there's not a much bigger economy out there to keep us afloat. As inflation leaks out, bond purchasers will demand higher yields. Interest rates will rise. The Fed can't stop that forever.

EDUCATION:

Thanks to the government's student loan bubble, colleges are the one economic sector rollling in dough. So what does government do? Gives them millions of dollars stolen from people who are having a hard time for capital improvements. I know some people say that poor people don't pay taxes. Baloney. They overtly pay sales and property tax. They overtly pay the myriad of government fees. They overtly pay FICA taxes. They covertly pay income tax because all income taxes, corporate and personal, are passed on to consumers through higher prices. Poor people are paying for the student loans. They're paying for the capital improvements. Rich schools are getting richer off the backs of poor people.

Teachers recognize the corruption in the system.

HEALTH CARE:

BPA linked to health problems. BPA used in water pipes.

GLOBAL WARMING AND ENERGY:

Australian temperature record unreliable.
"The BOM say their temperature records are high quality. An independent audit team has just produced a report showing that as many as 85 -95% of all Australian sites in the pre-Celsius era (before 1972) did not comply with the BOM’s own stipulations. The audit shows 20-30% of all the measurements back then were rounded or possibly truncated. Even modern electronic equipment was at times, so faulty and unmonitored that one station rounded all the readings for nearly 10 years!"
Government-funded science at its most typical.

Obama lies about how much oil the US has.

POLICE STATE:

UK surveillance cameras to deny fuel to vehicles without insurance or having paid taxes. And you thought the cameras were to prevent terrorism. No. With government, it's always about looting.

Orlando airport to use private screeners. I don't think anything will come of this. The private screeners have to meet government standards, which means they'll act like the TSA.
"With Sanford International having originally been prevented by the TSA from opting out back in November 2010 when the federal agency froze the ability for airports to use their own private screeners, a law passed by the Senate last month forces the TSA to reconsider applications."
If more airports follow suit, the government will take away that option. If this is allowed by the lawless Obama administration.

WAR:

Afghan President Karzai calls on NATO troops to withdraw to bases, and the Taliban pulls out of talks. Eleven years, thousands dead and hundreds of billions wasted. But a bunch of government cronies got rich, so it was worth it to our rulers.

POLITICS:

This guys is wrong about Ron Paul and the Republicans.
"However, the growth and development of the Paulian movement has now reached its limits within the confines of the GOP, like a potted plant whose roots can no longer be contained. Either the plant is put in the ground, or its roots will become so stunted that the plant will wither and die.In short, the Paulians must make a decision: either break free of the bonds of the GOP, or else face a future of dwindling political fortunes."
That's quite an assertion - unfounded - and flies in the face of all the evidence to the contrary. Paul's movement within the party is indisputably greater than it was four years ago. The growth of that movement is from young people who tend to stay with the movement. That means his movement is continuing to grow, and if you see the size of his crowds, that's born out. Plus, as our government continues to destroy our country, more and more people, conservative and liberal, will embrace libertarian out of pragmatism at least. I just posted an article last night written by a conservative in a strongly conservative forum proclaiming we are all libertarians now. Paul should not pull out of the Republican party. Regardless of whether the Republican (not Paul) wins or loses this year, Rand Paul should, and will I believe, take it over. That's because if big-government Republican loses to the worst president in my lifetime, it will ruin the establishment hold on the party. If the big-government Republican wins, he'll preside over the next huge crash and be powerless to stop it because he's clueless about what's causing it, and that will ruin the establishment hold on the party. Ron Paul speaks to 5,000 rabid fans at the University of Missouri. Tell me again how he's never going to grow the movement in the Republican party.
