Free kibbles

FREEDOM OF SPEECH:

Obama's war on freedom of speech.

ECONOMY:

Highly skilled foreign workers are leaving the US for better jobs.

Retire overseas to enjoy a better standard of living.

Prediction that the price of gold will double in five years.

Good description of the Federal Reserve's bank bailout explains why the economy is entering the second recession of this depression. If it hits as predicted, Democrats will get creamed in November.
"Around the world in late 2008, central banks inflated massively to save the financial structure. They bought government bonds. They loaned money to commercial banks. The Federal Reserve swapped assets with the largest banks, giving them T-bills at face value and taking back toxic assets without any market for them. This was like trading the family silver for crushed beer cans. Congress said nothing. Keynesian economists cheered Bernanke's brilliance."
They'll make Bernanke a scapegoat and he certainly deserves a tremendous share of the blame, but that won't save them.
"The deficits of all major nations are massive today. The governments are borrowing money [that central banks are creating out of thin air] to bail out their economies. But the money is being wasted. It is going for politically acceptable boondoggles and payoffs to special interests. It is not funding projects to meet consumer demand."
President Obama doesn't think it's wasted. He's enriching his socialist henchmen at our expense, empowering them to win a revolution when our government collapses. But they won't win. Americans will not allow socialists to take over our country by force, and we're at the limit of how far they can go by deceit.

This essay reminds me of one of the simple ways politicians manipulate us. Back in 2008, they said we had to have TARP and a significantly bigger Fed bailout or the financial system would collapse. Nobody wants an entire economic system to collapse. But what do they mean by financial system? What's the system? It sounds  people would no longer be able to borrow or loan money, and that's what they wanted us to think. But what the really meant was big financial companies would collapse, but if they had said that way, they would have never got their bailout.

TAX AND SPEND:

I hadn't heard these rumors that Germany, France and the US are demanding Greece buy weapons in return for the bailout.
"If someone incurred debts against you as an individual, without your knowledge or consent, you would call it identity theft. You would call your bank for a full accounting of the debts incurred in your name, and after some verification, those debts would be declared invalid and you would not be held responsible for them. Furthermore, if the culprit was found, they would be prosecuted and sent to jail.
Not so with governments and central banks."
I love that analogy.

EDUCATION:

Texas school board passes less liberal textbook standards. This is only an issue because of the government monopoly on schools.

POLICE STATE:

I should have predicted this: the SWAT team in the drug raid video that's now been watched over a million times on YouTube charged the father of the seven year old with child endangerment because of the raid. Orwell had it right all along. The blame isn't on the armed invaders who could have easily killed the child like they did the dog. It's on the peaceful parent who was sleeping at the time of the home invasion.
"The SWAT stormtroopers who invaded the Columbia, Missouri home of Jonathan Whitworth on February 11 knew a seven-year-old child lived there. This didn’t stop them from invading the home late in the evening, when the child would be put at risk. Nor did the invaders see anything amiss in shooting at two dogs that presented a “tactical obstacle” to the raid, even though the first shot missed the target.

Had things turned out just a bit differently, Whitworth’s child could easily have been murdered by the police through depraved indifference, as was the case with Detroit resident Aiyana Jones, the 7-year-old who was burned and shot to death during a May 16 SWAT raid on her duplex.

Perhaps the nastiest aspect of the raid — the video of which has been viewed more than a million times on YouTube — was the fact that Whitworth was charged with “child endangerment” because of the actions of the goons who conducted a military raid on his home that eventually netted a misdemeanor amount of marijuana."
They couldn't come up with a reason to justify the raid, so they charged him with child endangerment. Talk about blame the victim.
"In a May 20 news conference, Columbia Police Chief Ken Burton announced — and wasn’t the suspense terrific? — that the department had exonerated itself of misconduct in the February 11 raid."
If it wasn't so dangerously absurd, it would be funny.

There's no such thing as a victimless crime, but that doesn't stop government from pretending there is.
"Just as every husband needs a wife, every child needs a parent, and every teacher needs a pupil, so every crime needs a victim. Not apotential victim or possible victim or a supposed victim, but an actual victim.
There are a myriad of federal, state, and local laws on an incalculable number of subjects. The result of this is that the United States – the land of the free – has one of the highest per-capita prison populations in the world. With less than 5 percent of the world's population, the United States has almost a quarter of the world's prisoners."
The scariest part is Americans are fine with that. That's nuts.

WAR:

Taliban attack Kandahar NATO base.

ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION:

Walter Williams's question to open this essay makes no sense. 7 billion people would not try to live in the US. Supply versus demand for land would keep that from happening. But in a libertarian world, there would be no need for national boundaries to protect our rights because there would be no foreign governments to threaten them. Anybody would have a right to live anywhere he or she could buy property and make a home. Unfortunately, we don't live in a libertarian world. We live in a world where voters use government as a weapon against their fellow men to loot and commit other violence against them. In order for Americans to be free (not that we're free now), we need to control our borders so we can limit the the violence of government against us (not that we've done a very good job of that). We should allow hardworking immigrants into the US, but we need to stop criminals and looters from entering. That's why we need border enforcement.

POLITICS:

Libertarian responses to Rand Paul's Civil Rights Act position.

Obama's visits to Ohio show he's already campaigning for 2012.

MISC:

Government website reports there are no conspiracies. This sounds eerily like Nazi propaganda too. You know something is wrong when the government has to make that claim.

This attack on gold sellers looks like the opening salvo in the run-up to government seizing all the gold again.

Google offers encrypted search. That's great. Hopefully they'll encrypt iGoogle soon.

Chinese scientists accomplish quantum teleportation over 16 kilometers. Because of our oppressive government, we are losing our lead in science.
